    Thank you so much for the video! My daughter took her 2020 Rav4 (w/41K miles) to the dealership where she bought it and they gave her a written quote of $1,521.72. We're tuned in to the class action lawsuit that was just filed. We're a Toyota family but this widespread part failure needs immediate attention by Toyota.

    Great video, had searched several videos to determine what the problem was. Your video identified the issue. Took it to Toyota dealership for repair, $99.00 for diagnostic to verify the issue. They wanted $763.00 to make the repair. I would still owe them $348.55 after what my extended warranty covered. I paid their diagnostic fee and took it to another repair shop. It will cost me $93.98 + another $50.00 diagnostic fee after the warranty pays their part. Thanks for the diagnosting describing the problem.

    • @TheYotaChannel
      @TheYotaChannel  Месяц назад

      I wouldn't recommend prying it off. On the Rav 4, the new valve comes with the hose attached already. The Camry and Corolla the valve comes separate from the hose. Prying the hose off the Rav4 and reinstalling the old hose, you run the risk of the hose coming off when the vehicle is hot and the cooling system under pressure.

    My 2019 Toyota Rav4, maintenance required, diagnostic was done, error discovered coolant bypass valve. Toyota dealer Sunnyvale sent me estimate to replace it. $994, tax 19.25, diagnostic charges $260 very unfortunate

    June of 2024...A class action lawsuit has been filed in California. Suggest retaining all parts receipts and/or dealership/auto garage repair bills. C'mon Toyota. Get this settlement done and support your loyal customers.

      If you call Toyota customer support and tickle their ears a little and let them know how much you and your family love Toyota, and its a shame this is happening to your new Rav 4. You have a great chance of getting it covered at your local Toyota dealer.

      O.K. I went to another video and here is the explanation. I had used a mirror to locate the tab
      towards the windshield side of the connector about halfway down and in the middle. I had to press
      only in the middle of the connector, not the whole back side and was able to pull up. You will see in the mirror why you only push in the middle. Hopefully, this guy will learn to do a better job in the future

      hahahahaha ... I can't either. But from what I'm hearing if you have time to sit for a minute to allow your car time to warm up it doesn't matter if you replace the valve or not. The valve won't cause your vehicle to overheat from what the author of this video says soooo.

    This seems like it should be a recall that should be fixed for no charge, I probably have the same problem since it just started a week ago and most likely the culprit, I have a third party warranty so let’s see what they actually cover or maybe I will complain to Toyota corporate
