- This video precisely shows the collective controls movement. How pitch angle of the blades got changed when collective stick is pulled up or pushed down.
The Bolkow rotor head is different from the majority of designs. Most rotor heads have the pitch change horn and pitch change link connected at the leading edge of the blades. This requires that the swashplate is raised to increase blade pitch. In this case, raising the swashplate will decrease blade pitch. It works just the same in both cases, the only difference lies in the mechanical connections between the cockpit controls and the swashplate. Another example is the McCullock J2 autogyro, which has a fully articulated 3 blade rotor instead of the more common 2 blade teetering head on most autogyro.
