  • Loverboy hosted GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE in a one hour 1985 special. In the five weeks after host Terry David Mulligan's departure from the CBC Vancouver series, Bruce Allen, Loverboy, David Foster, Platinum Blonde and Stu Jeffries, who eventually became host, each hosted a show. Loverboy band members Mike Reno, Paul Dean, Scott Smith, Doug Johnson and Matt Frenette each introduced a segment with their choice of music (videos have been deleted). The award winning group was formed in Calgary, Alberta in 1979, accumulating numerous hit singles, multi-platinum albums and selling millions of records, especially in the 1980s. Managed by Bruce Allen, the popular Canadian rock group was at their peak of success when they taped this special. Also included, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Tears for Fears' Roland & Curt give trivia contest answers. For more CBC music and interview clips on ST40TV, click on: / st40tv
