totally agree man, been playin Diggers for a week straight, their songs are so amazing. Can someone tell me why the song 'Losing Altitude' is not a huge hit?
Paul MacLeod played with them for a while when Peter Cash left the band. He was a friend of mine, may he rest in peace. His first two solo albums are really good, the first one was produced by Hawksley Workman.
saw them at the Phoenix a hundred years ago. a band from Kingston opened for them, weeping tile, and none other than Gord himself introduced them. a great night!!!
A friend showed me this a while back. I got instant tingles and goosebumps... and they didn't let up, until it was over. I love both these bands so much... and this song! This is so wonderful.
Feb 2019, Halifax. These two bands did an even better job of this song. It was an encore and you had all three guys singing together for this song. Simply amazing and you could see the entire time that everyone on stage and in the crowd were just enjoying the moment and loving every minute of it. A life moment I will never forget.
What a treat.... Blue Rodeo along with another of my favorites The Skydiggers.... Awesome!!! That is what I call putting your all into a song!!! Good on ya Andy!! Beauty!!
Saw Blue Rodeo at Artpark this summer. A gift from my pregnant wife. And yes we live in Buffalo and I love Canadian music. Colin James opened. Just an awesome concert!!! I play Blue Rodeo for our baby.
I am learning to play this song on my bass guitar…..I absolutely love it and I almost have it memorized and play along with different recordings of it. I love this one! I live in the Ottawa area now, but I have vivid memories of 10 years ago listening to this song while sitting on my front porch in Etobicoke South looking out over Lake Ontario with tears In my eyes.
Would love to see the Skydiggers and Blue Rodeo collaborate. Andy singing fits well with the Blue Rodeo sound in my mind. Can't even hear Jim Cuddy. Andy is channeling Greg's words so well. This is a classic.
There's 14 pieces to this Silver Anniversary Concert and everyone of them a real pleasure. Having other people come from all over and repeat these fantastic pieces is simply amazing. Thank you CBCRadio3 for giving Canada and the world the pleasure of listening and recognizing a great group of people coming together for this celebration.
It amazes me that that song was made even better as a result of this collaboration. The lap man is a beautiful genius and Mr. Keelor wrote one he'll of a song. Skydiggers was my first rock concert.
This is the 1st I've heard & or listen to these tunes. Just flipp'n thru ytube very refreshing. Not played on the radio channels I listen to in Vancouver Don't hear "Blue Rodeo" is under rated in Vancouver.
I have heard this song so many times (thanks Canadian content...), but it never hit me until I heard Andy Maize (the sky diggers lead singer) sing it it. Wow!!! the slide steel is pretty annoying though...
Man...that's his style :)...they are a great band. respect the style :) I saw them in the original Molson Ampitheatre when the opened for blue rodeo years ago. It suite him...I like when he gets his groove on!! Cheers!!
I saw them at The Burt (in Winnipeg) when they were touring Western Canada in the 90's with Blue Rodeo. Both bands were bloody fantastic. That hands-in-pockets thing is just the way he is. His posture is very self-conscious in appearance, but in his vocal performance, he's so earnest in that puts all of himself into that. It's not a 'style' - you are literally seeing a performer without any affectation and posturing.
Christ we’re blessed in Canada with some of the finest musical talent. Always have been.
Iconic Canadian bands. The Diggers have never received the recognition they deserve

just love "give you anything"
I'm married to Josh Finlaysons cousin and the first time I heard their music it blew me away. 80 odd hours is now one of my all time favorites.
They're incredible 👍

The Skydiggers - whom I've seen as much as Blue Rodeo - are truly awesome.
saw them at the Phoenix a hundred years ago. a band from Kingston opened for them, weeping tile, and none other than Gord himself introduced them. a great night!!!
I've watched this hundreds, yes, hundreds of times. Such heart, and joy, they must've felt it happening. Eyes closed, or open, what a trip!
Every time = goosebumps. It's been about a million times now....
This is just perfection. ❤ ❤❤❤❤
Love how this all comes together, great voices, great song.
Beautiful Canadian musical chemistry!
A friend showed me this a while back. I got instant tingles and goosebumps... and they didn't let up, until it was over. I love both these bands so much... and this song! This is so wonderful.
Goddammit this song is so beautiful

What I would have given to be there. I can only imagine the magic.
God I love Andy's voice and I love this song. It was the one that hooked me on my addiction to seeing Blue Rodeo live.
I love that Andy is just a singer - no instruments, doesn't even touch the mike.
I love this version so much. I have no idea how many times I've listened to this. I wish this event would have been released as a live album.
Myself also. I just happened to have seen this song played live this year at this quality outdoors. Very well done as if was this concert.
We are the Free Canadians.
What a treat.... Blue Rodeo along with another of my favorites The Skydiggers.... Awesome!!! That is what I call putting your all into a song!!! Good on ya Andy!! Beauty!!
I'm sorry but Andy looks like a dear friend you had in college that you just had to have in your life. He is sublime in every sense of the word.
Saw Blue Rodeo at Artpark this summer. A gift from my pregnant wife. And yes we live in Buffalo and I love Canadian music. Colin James opened. Just an awesome concert!!! I play Blue Rodeo for our baby.
Sounds like an amazing show!
From Hamilton...Buffalo, the Falls, Crystal Beach...
Some of the best lyrics ever written.

A. Paul Gill Thanks for watching Paul! It was a great night.
Would love to hear Canadian artists playing thier songs on this guitar: t.co/gH2LzID0tl - It uses a very cool new material called graphene.
CBC Music unordered downing
Love all of blue rodeo, never get tired
Watched them play together tonight. It was pure joy!
Andy does an awesome job with this!

Funny how a bunch of Canadian Hosers can be just the coolest people on the planet.
And it's not just Southern Ontario...it resonates with me growing up in Cape Breton...as clear as daylight
I'm so thankful that I had this in my lifetime
gord downie !!!! and blue rodeo...... true canadians
I saw a concert MANY years ago at the Orpheum that had the Skydiggers opening for Blue Rodeo. Still the best concert i have ever been too!
Cuddy-"when I first heard it thinking,that's a great song".
Andy sounded awesome!
So perfect
Why the Skydiggers didnt snap that song up still alludes me...
It amazes me that that song was made even better as a result of this collaboration. The lap man is a beautiful genius and Mr. Keelor wrote one he'll of a song. Skydiggers was my first rock concert.
Damn good version of the song. I like this one just as much. And I've heard it live outdoors.
With a due respect, you would think Greg wrote this for Andy. Such heart and passion and every version I see and hear gets better each time.
Nice collaboration. Andy's voice fits well with Blue Rodeo's style. I'd buy this single.
I know people say the Hip are Canada"s band ......but ya know fer me it's these guys .........Blue rodeo.....just an opinion
Can't we have 2?
Keep going...
The correct opinion.
And the skydiggers....man...
@@cbcmusic At least four: add Metric and Stars.
Just a great tune! So Canadian!
Thanks for posting, CBC Music!!! Great live performance on this excellent-quality video!!! The bass is picked up very well; great playing by Bazil!!!
This clip re news my hope for humanity....thank you
Thank you.
Blue sky rodeo diggers...great song, fun version.
Wish they would venture into my forest now.
LOVE YOU ALL!!
Blue Rodeo, the Skydiggers, the Hip... that's Canadian music for me :)
This is the 1st I've heard & or listen to these tunes. Just flipp'n thru ytube very refreshing. Not played on the radio channels I listen to in Vancouver Don't hear "Blue Rodeo" is under rated in Vancouver.
Thank you
Wow, incredible performance!
This song. ♥
Two of my favorite bands, not counting USS, plus I don't even live in Canada.
I live 100 yards from Lake Ontario in New Toronto. 'Nuff said...
BRILLIANT
Look @ this guy w Blue Rodeo
No disrespect to Greg but this might be the best version of this song I’ve ever heard.
this rox!
I always liked Andy voice.
sublime
Exactly so Canadian That's how I interpreted this song
Port Hope Is beautiful
you don't have to live in Ontario to love this song, this song covers any lake or any geographicai location (sorry cant spell geo&&&
This guy sings it better then Blue Rodeo
I heard the same thing...also from very reliable sources. It is also why they brought in Colin Cripps as more regular guitarist.
So with ya, Joe.
downtown Ottawa, homeless busker--the night moves on
...By Far....
I’m from Port Hope, which street light was it? I’d like to look it up.
No love for Bazil Donovan? Guy's been holding down the fort since the beginning.
I have heard this song so many times (thanks Canadian content...), but it never hit me until I heard Andy Maize (the sky diggers lead singer) sing it it. Wow!!!
the slide steel is pretty annoying though...
the annoying thing is Andy's habit of moving his arms like he's a chicken
Well heres canada
Here it is!
Well the Hawaiian guitar is good

U
I hear his ear are a bit f'd up these days (from a fairly reliable source)
george lucas?
The guy from the Skydiggers needs to do something with his hands/arms. Otherwise, he looks like a chicken trying to flap his wings in this set.
Man...that's his style :)...they are a great band. respect the style :) I saw them in the original Molson Ampitheatre when the opened for blue rodeo years ago. It suite him...I like when he gets his groove on!! Cheers!!
hockey_knight Yeah, I saw their "I Would give you everything" video and he does the same thing. Same thing. But it's still weird. Good song though.
I saw them at The Burt (in Winnipeg) when they were touring Western Canada in the 90's with Blue Rodeo. Both bands were bloody fantastic. That hands-in-pockets thing is just the way he is. Yeah, Andy's being doing that forever... That's his signature move! :P
the leader singer seems to get short of breath singing.
this is a great song,,,,the guy singing it sucks,,,I'd,rather hear Greg sing it
You are.. He's on jims left..
Thank you
