I was there at lorettas that week watching my little cousin race, and to be able to see RC race again was awesome...what a great and humble guy. a few years before got to chat with him and he let the kids get pictures and autographs while we were there.

I've never been a huge RC fan, but I found this video quite enjoyable and made me respect him even more. Sounds like a guy worth going for a coolie with, as long as he brings his dad!

RC is likely to stay in the top 10 riders of all time. In shape or in retirement relaxing with his family he would still kick the ass of 99.9% of riders that ride off road motorcycles. I love it how some kids or people sit here and think that motorcross is "easy". Motorcross is more difficult then you think and untill you try it you will never know how hard it is. You guys can make fun of my for racing ATV motorcross not bikes but It doesnt matter what you race. As long as you get out there and have a gooodtime and try your best thats all that counts. Ricky shouldn't have retired, he easily could have gotten two more championships when james was hurt and even when he wasn't. It's amazing that five years later when he hasn't been riding he can still win another national championship, true GOAT

Agreed, my buddy races and i usually trail ride. He took me to the track. Ill admit it i sucked at first, my arms were killing me i wanted to die and the kids flying over me didn't help either. But it was good time i gotta admit that.

I bet with a few months of work outs and practice RC could come back and give RV some comp. I know he could make meat of Stewart now. JS needs to take a year off and go back to Loretta Lynn's and find the passion that once drove him. Fame and the BIG DOLLAR went to Stewarts head and has really messed him up. I do think Chad Reed will be RV's biggest threat with Dungy right behind him. But really I think an in shape Ricky C. could be right in the midst of things.

"I just wanted to race someone a little bit"... story of his career.... he only lost 20 something national. 102 overall wins out of a possible 126 and over 198 individual moto wins... poor guy never did get to race anyone besides James a couple times and Ricky still won over 90% of the overalls between the 2. Don't forget 10/10 outdoor titles 5 out of 8 supercross titles, didn't even ride in 2004 from his knee so technically he just lost 2 total but after his first championship in the premier class in supercross, he never lost another one he competed for which was against McGrath, Reed who handed it to Ricky the last half of 2003, they basically split the wins each winning one half of the season, and then James Stewart. He's raced the best in the world and beat them all... back when Chad was winning outdoors on Honda against both Ryan's and maintained a large points lead until his big crash, even then he said he's never seen anyone go as fast outdoors as Ricky even to that day. So if prime RC showed up even on his 07 Suzuki, he'd still be winning races and titles outdoors. He may not of had his 2 perfect seasons and then a 3rd undefeated season (in overalls, lost 2 motos ) in 2005, the year James Landes on RC at Unadilla, or his 86% win ratio, in the 450s it was in the 90%'s... but he'd still win. You can only go so fast and his bike power wise was plenty capable of hanging with today's 450's in terms of power and he'd drop into ruts faster than anyone I've ever seen, 06 and 07 still blows me away. Rant over, I just can't help it, the dudes amazing. Dungey is 2nd in 450 outdoor wins with less than half and only 3 titles which is tied with Eli for 2nd most titles... Ricky had 7 in 7 years, could of easily cruised to an 8th (11 combined) 450 outdoor title, he won every overall his partial season and after James went out with injury it would of veen an easy season. He missed 3 full races and was only down 49 points and left that day with a 1-1 and was only down 20 something with 3 rounds left, he could of just went 1-1 for 3 races and left with a million dollar title bonus, his race bonus which were insane... he'd bet on himself, he'd take a small salary (small for his worth), barley any bonus for 2nd on down, but his individual win bonuses would blow you're mind... that's how he'd get over 10million a year, thats without gear deals, endorsements, or championship bonus, 90% of that is all win bonuses. Add in all his endorsements and title bonuses (he always got 2 a year) and he probably made 15 million a year when the sport was doing real well, back when privateers could make 350k a year... it ain't like that anymore, satellite teams can't show off speakers or their sponsors products.. I remember in 05 the privateer teams would have their sponsors speakers and all sorts or products in the pits, it really made the sponsors fork over money cause it was a good investment. Now that they can't do any of that, sponsors pay fuck all.... and why would they for a small sticker that's covered by their leg and can't ve seen on TV without a magnify glass? It's not a good investment.
He should Only be allowed to race in a Pro Vet Class.If that was what He was doing then I'm fine with that.RC's too good to race Anybody but Former Pro's.

Well, no offense, but looking at his physique, he wasn't exactly in fighting shape. And he is certainly past his prime here right? As well, he probably drew a huge crowd which helps the sport in general.
