I was at the '07 Motocross of Nations on September 23, 2007 (my 40th birthday) and watched Ricky in his last ever race help Team USA win the Chamberlin Trophy. Thanks Ricky for the best birthday present I've ever had.
Ricky on the line is thinking how quick he's gonna be able to get out of there to go home after the race.... maybe figure out what's for dinner while he's in the process of cruising his way to putting a minute on second lmao. To everyone else 2nd place in the race or series is like winning the title.... Ricky won it 10 years straight and he won every race in his partial season so he would of won that one too. They should of made a second #1 plate during those 10 seasons, 'AMA Motocross runner-up behind RC champion' ... give them guys some sort of chance to have a #1 outdoor (or indoor) plate besides that big #4. He's won over 200 individual motos, 102 combined out of a possible 126 races. Which is 76/90 450 overalls and 26/36 125 overalls.... 2 perfect seasons 24/24 motos and 05 undefeated for overalls but lost 2 motos, one because James landed on him. Only guys outdoors on 450s to ever beat him heads up was first Tortelli, Windham twice (once was 450 vs 250 on a track where torque means everything), then James with the most wins, the majority of his wins are splitting the motos and Ricky taking the overall. From 05-07 outdoors, James took 3 overalls... 2 of them ricky had in the bag and crashed, like 06 Washougal where ricky got his first DNF while checked out, or Millville where he washed the front going over that big single and ejected him.. I love James, he had the edge in supercross in terms of speed more times than not, but outdoors Ricky ruled that, James could beat him for moto 1 at times but ricky would somehow come back in moto2 and put the whooping on him for the overall, he was just incredible. His records will never even be close to being touched... Dungey is second all time in 450 outdoor wins with less than half and tied with Eli for second all time in titles with 3. Which will probably change at the end of this season, I'm calling Eli for his 4th title. I wish he won last year to make it 5, that dude is just gnarly when he's comfortable. Ricky in his prime I think would beat him honestly, James has beat Eli outdoors and just a couple years ago James said still to this day James hasn't gone as fast outdoors as he did against carmichael, so I think that's pretty telling. It would be sick to really find out for sure... someone invent a damn time machine!!!! We need it for moto.
If anyone knows? ??... Wonder why? Goose separated from DeCoster? ?...they never had a falling out did they.?.....just wondering. .....know he's been with Reedy along time now.....haven't googled it
Man, could he have more servants? geezuz. He doesnt (didnt) need 7 guys pampering him. I'd tell all but my mechanic and Decoster to...go away for awhile. I know, this is serious shit with high stakes and backing.
