- The INEOS Britannia base in the heart of the Port Vell was alive with guests and media for the official naming ceremony of the boat that all British fans hope and believe will be the history-maker and win the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup for the first time in its 173-year history. Without a doubt, ‘Britannia’ presents the best chance ever of securing the ‘Auld Mug’ and the campaign has all the elements required for success after securing a place at the top table as the Challenger of Record.

If I paid tens of millions... I'm definitely getting a ride, good job Jim
The boat and crew are gradually improving, it will be impressive at the right time with more fine-tuning and training by the challenger of record.
Slip there as Giles called it RB3, and I bet that's what it will still be called inside the team.
Aren't all their boats called Britannia?
exactly what I thought
Surprised Jim didn't want the boat named "Monaco". The team might not bring the cup back but if there is a competition for best use of platitudes we will certainly win it.
I thought they went with Rita? 😄
b'RITA'nnia
They still look a bit unstable every time the bow
drops in the water it will be wiping some speed off.
Totally agree…to my untrained eyes they seem to be hitting the water more often in the bigger swells than their counterparts with the smaller bow designs.
Stability also slows you down. Something somewhere is holding the boat stable and it will cause fraction. The balance is somewhere in-between.
Well, all modern fighter jets are also 'unstable' and that engenders their incredible performance capabilities. Instability can confer an advantage if it's precisely controlled as _Britannia_ appears to be. We all know INEOS' design objective in this AC cycle was exactly what we're seeing now. Agree with it or not, this is what the team was aiming for.
@@jamesaron1967 Yes instability can be a good thing...But also water produces a lot of drag and if they keep dipping their bow in it they will loose some speed if they can get their control systems sorted out i have no doubt they will be contenders.
man I was sure they were gonna go with Talulah
As in Talula Does the Hula From Hawaii?
@@OliverBatchelor as in, the 2 dollar hooker from cool runnings
This boat is going to win the AC for the UK it's that brilliant
It has to get past the rest of the challengers first and then the defenders. Luna Rossa looks pretty good too and ETNZ look very slick and fast.
Would be great to see them in the cup match
@@phillipchan9125 As does every team
@@garycarse5297 It is more possible now than ever before
@@phillipchan9125 What things look like matters not its down to performance and Ineos is a rocket ship as reported
Looks a little bit too clumsy to be ruling the waves. In comparison to some of the other boats that is. They’re probably holding some aces close to their chests.
Clumsy? No it's fast very fast
Doesn't look clumsy to me at all. We don't have any hard data to compare.
again it seems to me non very stable on flight
Not the King Charles then.
Jim, who’s Jim? 😂
Davidson, he enjoys his motor boats 👍
