That's totally fine. But if you're going to make points about something, at least try to be more sensible than the plot of the game you are bashing. A "toothpick" literally designed to kill gods/titans does it's job, yet somehow is a sin. Get real.

Well of course, Kratos has plot armor and is a cash cow. I never said that wasn't true, just that him killing Gods (and Titans) makes sense within the context of their universe. Almost every protagonist from every game _should_ be dead, but then there wouldn't be a story.

I'm calling shennanigans on sin 33. You claim that the Hades of God of War 3 takes a shit on Greek Mythology, yet the Hades is the ONLY depiction of Hades in contemporary renderings that actually shows him with the Helm of Darkness.
And why would his character model bother you so? He sat in Kronos's stomach the longest, so, naturally, he'd look fucked up. Or perhaps the reason he looks to ugly and putrid is because he dwells in the Underworld, which is full of corpses and death, and all manner of putrid things. The spikes in his body represent the pain he suffers (he has always been sleighted by the other gods, especially Zeus), or represents the general sorrow he feels (one of the attacks with the claws is called "unending sorrow), such as losing his wife, and other relatives (as Hades points out before he begins fighting him), or it could simply be that Hades is a masochist, as referenced by Hades in the fight against him.
If you don't like GoW3, that's fine- it's not the best in the series anyway- but don't judge the game too harshly if you're not even going to look into it.

An excellent question. There are some discrepancies in Greek Mythology about Hades's Helm, and caps of invisibility. In some Greek myths, both exist, but in all iterations of the myths, there is only 1 Helm of Hades.
God of War takes a lot of artistic license when it comes to the Greek myths, and Perseus is no exception. Whether it's an invisibility cap or the Helm of Darkness is entirely up for speculation on our parts, but I highly doubt anyone at Santa Monica looked very far into it. I mean, hell, the Golden Fleece is an arm pauldron for fuck's sake. I'm pretty sure Santa Monica cares more about what's cool than what's true to Greek myths.
He didn't lose his wife he still has her but has to give her back to Demeter (since he kidnapped her from Demeter and she's Demeter's daughter) for two-thirds of the year and thats why the Greeks thought we have spring and summer (Demeter is happy when she has her daughter) and stays with hades for one-third of the year that's why the Greeks thought we have winter (Demeter is upset without her daughter) (Persephone is her name) and there are many reasons why she stays with Demeter and hades for that amount of time but the one I know is she ate one-third of a pomagrate and in Ancient Greece that's like signing a contract if you eat you have accepted to stay with them since she did that hestia came up with an idea and that was stay with Demeter two-thirds of the year and one-third with hades since she ate one-third of a pomagrate (yes I am a percy Jackson fangirl and that is the only reason I know this😊) probably didn't expect or care to know ALL this but ya your welcome

I actually knew all of that. But see, the video you're commenting on is God of War. And so I was commenting about God of War's adjusted Greek Mythology. In the game God of War: Chains of Olympus, the final boss is Persephone, who wants to destroy the universe because her marriage sucked. Even in God of War 3, you can see her corpse in an air-tight coffin.
herofromthedark I only have one gripe with what you said about hades. Actually, Hestia was the first born child of Cronos and Rhea and was the first to be eaten and the last one to be freed from his stomach. If anyone would likely come out looking screwed up, it'd be her. Actually, All of the Daughters of Cronos and Rhea were in his stomach longer than Hades and Poseidon. so why Hades is the only who looks like something out of the Dante's Inferno game, I have no idea.

You are correct sir! But technically, the order was thus- Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Hera, then finally Zeus (but not really). What I meant (though didn't properly articulate) was that Hades was the oldest of the Gods- gods, as in males only. Sorry for not being detailed enough.
Plus, Demeter and Hestia aren't even seen in any of the God of War games, so I don't suppose that they were of any importance to any threads of the god of War story.
And again, I didn't say that the ONLY reason for Hades's appearance was his digestion by Cronos- it was just only of my theories.

Even though he had no control over his body he still blamed himself since in the end if he never made the deal with aries that day, his family would of never suffered such a horrible fate.

the plot of GOW is pretty nonsensical most of the time, but it seemed like you started to bash on this game more out of spite instead of actual reasons. this version of Hades actually seems the most accurate to me, and Kratos does have a reason to betray Aries due to being tricked into killing his family although of course part of the blame goes to kratos for slaughtering villages in the first place.
the game fixed the part of the pandoras box problem about it containing evil and not god slaying power (that was likly the hope) but you never mentioned it. and yes fear can be evil because people would do things the usually wouldn't do in a state of fear like murder but in Zeus's case the fear led him to becoming a jerk to prevent anyone from overthrowing him
and then a the end this video became nearly unwatchable when you started criticizing a game for being a game by having boss battles puzzles and fighting sections.
GOW has some pretty big plotholes but it seemed you were just bashing the game making up faults because you dont like it

Turan X most of its plotholes have to do with pandoras box, mainly that in game it was in a temple on cronos back and that it contained the power to kill a god, it was supposed to be in a labyrinth and contain the worlds evil,
although in later games they fixed the evil plot hole by saying that the evils were released and effected the gods and the power to destroy the gods was from hope that was also stored inside the box

So it’s not okay to make an original story with unoriginal characters, places or items? If I want to learn about Greek mythology I’ll read a history book, but god of war never once said it was a legitimate way to learn about Greek mythology so the whole argument that this game is bad because it isn’t true to the source material is very dumb.

Every single time Kratos killed s god it was justified. Why? Because invariably, they fucked with him first. Either by making him kill his family, or simply by trying to kill him first. Self defense is not a crime. He tried to kill himself, the gods say no.He tried to let himself be killed, titans say no. They keep bringing him back from death over and over, giving him more power every time (he threw the Colossus of Rhodes in the second game, that's like tossing around the Statue of Liberty), then complaining when they betray this guy they turned into an unstoppable murder machine, and he turns on them. Big fucking surprise. Hera's death was the worst, if she had simply shut up she might have lived, she was practically begging for him to kill her. Don't poke the bear then act surprised when it murders you.
As for the hope bit, the only way to sop Kratos was to make him give up. Kill him, he goes back to the Underworld and just walks right the fuck back out, because he can use the gateways and swim in the Styx after taking Hades' soul. Killing him is pointless, Zeus had to make him want to stop. In Ascension, he had even been thrown into the greatest prison the gods had, and he still escaped. That is what made hope such a powerful weapon, as long as he persevered, Kratos effectively had infinite lives.

Well sure, if you view it from Kratos' own selfish point of view, everything he did was justified...
But in general, I don't think anything really justifies using innocent individuals as tools to achieve his goals, by brutally murdering them or subjecting them to all kinds of tortures. Goals that benefit no one but himself. Goals that essentially brought about the apocalypse in the end.
All in all, Kratos was a major prick, who cared for nobody but himself... and his dead wife, daughter and brother too, I guess. But that hardly redeems him.

Zeus is the selfish one in the series, he allowed it all to happen because he didn't allow Kratos to kill himself. Then he betrayed him at Rhodes, when a very simple ruse would have tricked Kratos and avoided the events of the second game.

He could've just stuck with being a God and not throw a temper tantrum like a child, which got him into trouble at the start of the second game. The story had a fine ending in the first game, it was his own actions that escalated everything.

Yeah, he COULD maybe find a different way, but he is the monster they created, they were ultimately responsible for their own deaths. You don't arm a madman with insane weapons and magic, then allow him to slowly go insane, refuse to let him give up and die, and when he turns on you, *do not* aggravate him. Remember, all he wanted was for the gods to take away his nightmares about killing his family, and when the refused he tried to die. They ensured he would go insane, then made him immortal so not even old age would stop him.
For the last time God of war is "NOT" suppose to be completely accurate to Greek mythology.

Right from the beginning you have seriously ignored several facts.
First off, Gaia doesn't blow ice, she just blows air on the flames to put them out.
Second, Poseidon is still hiding. When Kratos said "leave the sea" he meant leave the giant water construct he was in and fight him mano e mano.
And finally, the gods only don't bleed red in Percy Jackson. This is not Percy Jackson, this is God of War.

Things that I know they deviated from
1) The Helm of Hades, is a helmet that actually engulfs the area in darkness not hide an ugly mug.
2) The realm of Hades is a giant torture den to make humans realize there is danger to death. Hell it's not even that big a deal for escaping Hades, several people in mythology literally walked out, that was why Cerberus was needed was because they previous guard of souls kept failing his job.
There is many many more ways they fucked up.
+Honored Cur Greek myths are standalone narratives; there is no way you could combine a number of them into a cohesive whole and have a decent adventure game story. Also, it's made-up bollocks, there is no actual helm of hades- it's whatever the storyteller wants it to be.

Um. I would probably have an argument to follow that, but to be honest, i couldnt understand what you were saying, and i dont know wether you were just typing wrong, or i was reading it wrong. The point im trying to make, is that the people who are being jerks to the guys at GamingSins are taking the videos way too serios. A lot of the time, the comment just because its their favorate game, and they take the game to serios as well. Two of my favorate game series' were God of War, and Assassin's Creed. I love those games, and i think theyre great. And i still love the GamingSins video's and i think that theyre great. You can like the game that they sin, and still like the video's which arent actually serios video's. XGamesshroudX, if you posted youtube video's (which is FREE entertainment), and actually put in lots of effort to make, and edit those videos (editing is difficult), would you want a ton of people telling you that THEY dont like the video? Im a small youtuber, and nobody comments on my crappy videos, but if people did, i wouldntwant it to be just h8 speech. i would rather that they just didnt watch my videos than tell me how bad my videos are. Sin 48: Hermes is the messenger of the gods/Messenger God. To get a message around quickly, as messengers are supposed to do, they are supposed to be fast. Therefor, Hermes is faster than anything else, being the veritable God of speedsters.
Sin 52: nobody ever said Hercules was the God of Intelligence, XD
Sin 56: um, Hercules said he'd deal with Kratos himself during the boss fight. That's basically him telling his minions "hey, you guys suck, I got this".
Sin 61: um, Kratos is a demigod, like Hercules, who likely could do the same against Cronos.

I get it, the nitpicking, it can be bad, and it's clear you hated this game. But, come on, if you're a true-blue reviewer, are you going to let your personal bias get in the way of doing you job? Granted, the series is not without it's faults (some pretty big ones, at that), but then again, what series isn't?

It's a miracle he managed to knock Kronos down at all. I mean, even if Kratos crawled inside of Kronos and punctured one of his vital internal organs, it would take quite some time of bleeding before Kratos would even begin to start feeling ill.

GamingSins My pleasure. Besides, it's not like you're the only channel that does video game reviews, but you do update yours on a rather set/quick time, which does appeal to me. I've subscribed to other channels that take weeks or month to release new content and such. Plus, your reviews, while some (like this) I don't particularly agree with, are quite funny and nevertheless enjoyable to watch.

GamingSins Nitpicking is one thing but the level of biased, "I don't like this cause I don't like it" bullshit is off the charts. If you're modelling your review in the style of Cinemasins, you know the large popular channel you're attempting to emulate like a small child putting on their parent's clothes while their at work, then maybe you should try to make your points more coherent and less subjective. Your complaint about the aesthetic of Hades followed by your personal opinion of other depictions is the most egregious example of subjective whining. Also, yes it deviates from Greek Mythology, it's based on it not retelling it word for word. Complaining at every deviation is just padding out your sin count. Someone in the comments made note that they mistakenly named Heracles by his Roman name Hercules while using exclusively the Greek names for all the other characters, THIS WOULD BE A SINNABLE OFFENSE, but bitching about him saying armor is for weaklings because a character in Greek mythology who isn't in the damn game had magic armor makes no damn sense. Retracting sins for characters "Telling it like it is" is a bad joke at best, retracting sins is a rare thing that should not happen everytime someone says something that happens to be true.
You guys are in a prime position to merge the styles of Zero Punctuation and the Sins franchise for your reviews, having the format of the latter and the swearing Brit of the former, take advantage of it and do it right. Seriously, with a decent writer this show could be epic, and I'd love to see it get there, but this review reads like an itemized list of how not to make a decent game review. It's a game, focusing on the plot exclusively is like reviewing a movie based solely on the soundtrack without a single statement about the visuals, effects, or acting. You guys are obviously capable of better, please stop tossing us this kind of crap.

I'm rather surprised that you didn't mention the BIGGEST plothole in the game that comes in the beginning. Why the FUCK didn't Kratos just use his wings to fly back up to Zeus? There are sections in the game where he is clearly able to fly straight up at extreme speeds. So really him being betrayed by Gaia and not being able to kill Zeus right then and there is really REALLY stupid.

+Khets Ndlovu well kronos is a Titan. Titans in Greek mythology where defeated only by Zeus. In the game kratos is able to kill Zeus. So you could say that he could defeat them as well. BUT... not by using his freakin dual blades. (he could use lightining bolts like Zeus to strike him).

Gaia is pretty much the Earth Goddess before whoever the Olympian Earth Goddess was so it kind of makes sense she can breath ice.
