    Great detailed and logical presentation. Black melamine is very handsome, and I have used it for the sexy look in my shop too. But I've since come to favor white melamine. I find that the ability to make easily removable ad hoc reference marks, etc. on any surface in the shop often comes in very handy.

      If you were to build this exactly the same way I did and get everything brand new it’s going to be over $2500. That is the biggest reason I decided not to do plans for this because I know that that is out of the realm of possibility for a lot of people. If you already have the MFT’s obviously that would save you a dramatic amount of money

      Yeah, after looking at the Rockler site, they have either 28” or 32” tall legs, and various widths. I do have their router table and it is very nice and solid. I was going to build one from 8020 material, and still might, but I definitely want to lower the height about 7” from my current height. Infinity Tools makes a very similar setup, which is adjustable in height, and from 2mm and 3mm thick steel like Rockler, but it’s out of stock.

    So after so many years of use and moving to your new location, are you still using this workbench setup?

    Hi Jason, I was a bit surprised that you used three rather expensive MFTs to make the assembly table. You could have achieved the same by using a full 8x4 sheet with CNC cut holes on the base frame or using one of the deep profiles to make the frame. It would guarantee all holes were true and avoid any risk due to the link bars getting loose. As it seems the rail is always used in the same place the hinge and end brackets could be fixed directly to the frame so you wouldn't miss the proprietary Festool profiles around the MFTs. I like your mitre station.

      I wasn’t going to use the MFTs for anything else since I no longer do onsite work. Also, I like the storage underneath.

    What is the top of the assembly table made out of?

    What adhesive did you use to laminate the melamine together?

    Great setup. What size is the table for your viking drill press?

    What if you have a sheet which is 49 inches wide?

      Then I would remove the fence and just use the table

    I like your miter saw station. I wanted to know if I could leave off the front cross brace would it still be stable? I’m new to Woodworking, a weekend warrior. I have a Ryobi 12” miter saw and a Dewalt 7845 Table Saw. My plan is to put my table saw on a cart to slide underneath one side and then an assembly/out feed table on the other side.

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  3 года назад +1

      It would definitely be less stable without them

    Do you wax or in some other way seal those MFT tops?

    Hello Brent. Thanks for such great videos! I watched you paint the finish on the MFT's. No mask! I'm trying to figure out what spray system to buy. Graco....Fuji.....I'm working in my garage so overspray is an issue. Smell will divorce me......hmmmmm. Do you have any input? Thanks

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 года назад

      Well not wearing a mask is dumb and I know better, but I haven’t found mine since the move so I opened the garage door. 🤦🏼‍♂️ As for sprayers, I have an Apollo power 5 system and gun. I also have a Fuji fun. I like all of them. They are pricey, but I’ve had better results than when using my inexpensive models.

      Bent's Woodworking. Brent it sounded like I was judging on the mask....I wasn’t. I was impressed that you didn’t need one because of the type of sprayer with no overspray. You must be running very little air pressure. I’ll check out the Fuji fun

    Have you cut the benchdogs fence down?

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 года назад +1

      I have not because they made a newer version fence that accounts for it.

      Bent's Woodworking thanks, I did check their website just after I posted the question and noticed they not do a low fence.

      The fence can be either 40mm or 20mm. The flags stops work both ways. Hope that answers your question.

    Good video. How do you envision using this in conjunction with your table saw? Has this new table changed the types of cuts you would have ordinarily used the table saw to accomplish?

    • @bentswoodworking

      Yes a little bit. I am able to do more, accurately at the assembly table now.

    Do you have the MFTs attached to the ashes to keep them from shifting?

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 года назад +1

      Currently no, but I haven’t had them move yet. At most I will brace them
