  • An improved version of The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks - Sacred Duet.
Arranged and orchestrated by G-Squared Studios
Composed by Koji Kondo and Toru Minegishi
For this arrangement, I did not use TheLastPitchBender's sheet music. I did last time, but this time, I had heard it so many times that I did not require it. Further, it would have been more difficult to make it cinematic if I was relying on the arrangement of sheet music alone; I also neglected sheet music in the production of the Age of Calamity orchestration.
The graphics towards the end are kind of lazy. I was working on a 3D project in Blender and Unreal Engine to add some exciting visuals, but the former piece of software required a lot of rendering time. And as someone who is really new to Unreal Engine, I wasn't sure how to set up the 3D models I had made in Blender, quickly in it.
Maybe in the future will I try my hand at more complicated graphics like this; but for now, enjoy water stock footage set to multiply with multiple masks. :D
Final Battle will come at some point, but probably not before I figure out how to make dubstep remixes.

I like to imagine Link using a regular train after the end of Spirit Tracks, no matter what ending you get, with the Spirit's train being left at the Spirit Tower once again.
To set the stage, it's years later, Link visits the Spirit Tower with Zelda, with them having some free time to themselves. Just as the flute kicks in, they see the Spirit Train where Link had left it, in pristine condition thanks to the Spirit's magic keeping it that way. The engine still deep blue and burgandy, the cannon car still magically loaded with cannon rounds, the passenger car still very luxurious and the cargo car still as sturdy as ever. Link and Zelda approach the magical engine, Link takes in every detail, then gets on the footplate, his fingers running over the controls, taking his position on the engine as if he never left it. His emotions get the better of him and he sheds a tear. For it may have been a tool at the time, but now it's an old friend. One he remembers fondly working with as if they were one. Zelda places a hand on his shoulder, smiling at him. Link smiles back, both of them remembering their adventure down to the last minute details. Every struggle, every hardship, every triumph and their growth. They miss those days despite the catastrophy that was going on then, but they secured their future. Now and forever. And that was all that mattered to them.

One of the most beautiful themes from the Zelda series.
One that sometimes haunts me in my sleep.
    Wonderful orchestration.

Woah, really nice work, G-Squared! Both the music and visuals here are really well done, and I admire all the effort and creativity that went into them. Seeing the pride you take in your work is really heartwarming!
I've only played Spirit Tracks once - and it was quite some time ago - but the instrumentation you used here sounds really reminiscent of what I remember hearing. The pan flute (I think?) lead sounds lovely, and I like that the vibrato and dynamics really give it an authentic sound. It pairs beautifully with the piano, and the string chords add gentle warmth to the mix. And keeping the instrumentation more mellow and reflective - as opposed to a more grand a majestic latter half, really gives the piece a dual-movement kind of feel - especially with that semi-caesura around 0:50.
The denser arrangement at 1:18 really showcases your skill in orchestration, and everything really just kind of erupts at that point - and I love that this huge crescendo of both volume and complexity is accompanied by the emerge of the title and that beautiful nighttime scene you've created. The lighting effects on the water look great, and the glowing orbs look like they're casting auroras in the celestial night sky. The sweeping particles and gentle camera panning give the scene a great sense of movement, before centering as those final, lingering chords are played. I love the harmonization in this segment, especially, and it truly feels like a Sacred Duet. Again, big props for taking the arrangement entirely into your own hands and creating something that's so robust and unique!
That blurred Zelda(?) design at the start has me really intrigued, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing the full graphic in a future video, if you plan on revealing it fully! In any case, this is a wonderful revamp of your original iconic track - fingers crossed that it receives a similarly huge response! 🤞 I'll see you soon, my friend.

I'll be sure to show the finished image when I post the full version of this piece. I just figured it would take me way too long to do both, so I went ahead and posted what I had so far. Maybe it's cruel, but I love suspense >:D
Thank you so much for your kind words, friend! I always appreciate your technical input on my music. :D
