happy birthday to the greatest guitarist ever.
Jammed with Albert at the 'Red Cow ' Hammersmith in 1967 when he was 'unknown' but even then he was PURE GENIUS compared to us mere 'lead guitarists'..........& a superb unassuming young geezer. Few ever better than Albert IMO!

albert lee,s playing on shakys this old house album was bloody fantastic.what a sound !
+ting rag err i think that was mainly Mickey Gee, who was a seriously underrated guitarist. and is sadly missed by at least me, /mikey xx
Mike Strafford mickey gee became shakys main lead guitarist after this album! Albert sessioned for TOH album! You are totally correct tho..mickey was a fantastic guitarist,and it was a great loss!

Thanks for posting. Nothing to do with this video, but Albert should have been given a more 'professional' production for his 70th bash, too much mic tapping and can you hear me? stuff. He deserved better.

You do have to wait the end and the quality (of the recording NOT the performances) is dodgy in the extreme. Albert is, naturally, brilliant. By the way, so is Jane Clark.
Who is the awesome fiddle player?
Jane Clark. I asked Albert about her when he came to Ravenshead. He said his wife discovered her at another show, and told him about her. They play Country Boy brilliantly together.
