Just went back to watch some of your og PlateUp streams and realized you've recently been editing out the "Stream Starting Soon" segments which makes it that much easier to watch after the fact. Appreciate the extra work that takes!! Love your dynamic with Skizz, and love your commitment to Decked Out!!
Skizz gets overwhelmed when there are lots of icons popping up. This game is probably a nightmare for him, but at the same time like some kind of mental training.
Abandoning a restaurant is pretty much the same as failing one. You just don’t have to start a day to fail on purpose. Once you have chosen a franchise card as you did, you can abandon it at any time and start a new restaurant with 3 of the same cards.
16:30 Late on this, but for anything new viewers... I think what it boiled down to there is a few small things adding up. Stuffing certainly is a lot to handle. And it's a LOT of short actions, which means travel time is at a premium. 1. Stuffing is: 2 actions for the bread and then 6 actions to finish - for every stuffing. Your job (without that) was to sometimes cook a turkey, then carve and store each portion. Skizz was plating, sometimes adding stuffing, delivering/taking orders, gathering dirty dishes and sometimes running/emptying the dishwater. Turkey was just 1 action per order, plus a few more here and there. Skizz was doing 3-4 actions per order, plus a few more here and there. *You should have shifted turkey to Skizz*. That would put you both at about 5-6 actions per order (not quite 6 for you since stuffing isn't on every order) 2. Your workflow wasn't great. You hadn't ingrained the process in yourself enough - you were flip-flopping between the oven and the hob and chopping wherever you panicked towards. With a well set process, you would be just looping through the set locations consistently doing the action without needing to think about it. It would mean way less mistakes. 3. You didn't make good use of your new chopping station. You'd often chop the onion and leave it there, which means no speedy processing of the bread parts. Chopping the onion and moving it to a neighbouring counter every time could have helped. 4. Since you wanted to use the faster oven on the bread stuffs, having it in place of the hob would have meant less travel time. That would help catch mistakes like burning a toast before it's actually burnt. Also, there's the obvious "less travel time = faster filling". 5. You'd decided to put the bread loaf in the sink, then didn't do it. It would have meant less travel time there too. One trick I'd suggest: Have the chef (especially) try and set themselves up to be trapped in a 1x1 square, of possible. If you can do everything by just turning around, then travel time is automatically minimized and it becomes just a series of direction + actions. No need to think where you need to walk to - you don't walk. It's a great strategy for any role, but the server typically requires some travelling so that the tables aren't interfering with each-other.
~1:04 What happened when Skizz did not manage the burger+bread challenge: -> He waited, then serverd bread. After removing the wood plates he did not complete the table, but took orders of the other tables (as they had less time). So all customers kept sitting blocking the tables.
As someone who has worked in a kitchen for ten years, this is painful lol. Your kitchen appliances should be placed in a way so you don't have to walk anywhere. Think about the flow of traffic, and sequence of tasks. If you put your appliances in order of how the food is prepped, you will not waste steps. But it is hilarious watching you guys. These vids make my day.
The fact that they didn’t grab the conveyer at 1:30:00 blows my mind. Upgrading to a smart grabber taking dirty plates from the table would help them be so much faster, since Skizz always forgets about dirty plates
Br0dy has said he doesn't want to play it anymore due to the burn out. which, I don't blame him. I put in 70 hours and now I don't want to touch the game, even WITH the game updates.
one thing that couldve been done was - kick skizz and the upgrade desks out into dining room, put the mixer prep line into the corner and pull the whole kitchen to the counter lol So you could have another grabber for carrots as well in that little L , to be replaced with a future mixer, and have both serving counters and dough-prep o set up as needed
3:01:00 I think tango could've added carrots to the meat in the mixer and it would've combined both. Then add the dough and it would've combined all three. I'm not sure but I think so?
No, it won't let you combine in that order. The way he was doing it works because the dough ball can combine with either chopper meat or chopped carrots, then other ingredient, then they get formed into dumplings.
The stuffing is unforgiving. It looked like you had to walk a lot to get your stuff. Cutting board at zhe top, quick oven at the bottom for something that have to be cooked and chopped a thousand times. The clear separation between serving and cooking might've been a bad idea as well. But then you'd need good communication. Stuffing is a big step, it seems.
I mean, technically yes, but anything you do in practice other than setting smart and corner grabbers gets reset when you end practice mode. So, the frozen prep would go back to how it was
I think we need a JITS plate up session, even if it is a one shot.
Imagine the chaos !
Just replying to try to bump the comment. Please make this happen!!
that'd be so funny
+1
I want this so much!

Yes!
Skizz gets overwhelmed when there are lots of icons popping up. This game is probably a nightmare for him, but at the same time like some kind of mental training.
And they overlap each other and sometimes you can't even see the order. A top down view might be better (but won't look that cute).
Thank you so much for showing Skizz this game & playing it with him. Friday skyrocketed in awesomeness
Did I come over here from Skizz’s VOD because of puppers? Yes. Yes I did lol
“I’m kinda intrigued by the stuffing that we had last time with the turkey” in the industry we call that foreshadowing
Abandoning a restaurant is pretty much the same as failing one. You just don’t have to start a day to fail on purpose. Once you have chosen a franchise card as you did, you can abandon it at any time and start a new restaurant with 3 of the same cards.
Adding the skizz element to this game just levels up the hilariousness. 😂😂
I suddenly just realised Tango had a tiara on his character and a chef hat at the same time lol
I know they don’t do as well but I could watch plate up streams endlessly. Keep ‘em coming.

Nothing like dismantling a bathroom while watching a stream replay.
At least you know your bathroom can handle people taking a dumpling!
love plateup so much, so excited for more content with skiz
Told you I'm always here! Now to watch you guys get to where you were when I popped in stream! I've been excited for this!
Yay, more Plateup streams! They make me so happy!

Caught the last 20 minutes of this live (which never happens). Eager for this VOD!
Me too, so I got spoiled at the end
❤ watching u 2 guys playing that game! i could watch this 24/7
3:30 having two tables set to 3 chairs made the place look smaller than it needed to be. Two tiles wasted that could be used for other stuff.
Woo! That was dope! 4 hours! And franchised! Such a good stream! Thanks for uploading as always!
The moment Skizz said "Swagger" I knew there'd be a podcast plug XD love it

Thank you Tango for your work, love the stream!!!
@18:30 chat just lost ordering privileges, lol. Lmao even.

hey tango if you ever decide to do the harder maps you might wanna get brody on board!
Br0dy has said he doesn't want to play it anymore due to the burn out. which, I don't blame him. I put in 70 hours and now I don't want to touch the game, even WITH the game updates.
Thank you for posting this!!! I missed Friday's stream.
4:08:20 The music and echoing at the end of the stream was ETHEREAL LOL that and Tango's "oh I'm still recording heheh" was so funny to me
4 hours? That is a treat!
Stuffing is ok...if you can share out the work or automate. Otherwise...yes, it sucks, lol.
yeah but you have to wait so many rounds (even solo) for automation to get there- it's awful.
I like that mango keeps putting hats on him- thats silly
Love this series😂

Skizz is triggering Me by decorating the Kitchen instead of the Dinning Room. Just thought I would share that, lol.
😂😂 my cat has a plastic obsession too
I've had a long day, I'd really like to just sit down, take a shiitake dumpling, and go to bed
Over the shoulder boulder holder!
You gotta play a quad session of this game, you, skizz, br0dyman and get the Canadian chef along with them too
I love watching you broth playing the game 🩷
1:10:04 - Why do they call it TAKING a dumpling, anyway? It's more like you're LEAVING a dumpling...
long prestream is that code for getting new batteries. ;)
Every three levels is one star. So beating day 6 gave you two stars
The perfect stream to watch while you're _doing shit_
1:04:42
“[Turkey] is a gateway drug to stuffing”
1:38:07
“I like it when we chop our meat together”
“LEAVE IT!”
Maybe no massive hat to block the action lol
Ahhhh I don't want to wait untill Friday 😢😢😢
I keep looking for a JITS stream - I miss the gang.
Are they waiting for Phasmo update?
Yes, that's been the word. Right now, people are busy, but it sounds like they're going to make special plans for the big update
Tango said in a previous stream that they are waiting for the update and will then return to weekly sessions
Ahh I can't wait for that!!
I *really* dont understand why you felt you needed the discount desk at a stage when you were earning ~200 coins every round
This makes me happy. Tango, you should upload your Diablo streams on here too.
Skizz, Got Burgers?
You should name you restaurant Soap Scum Sides as it comes complementary with every dish.
The stuffing is unforgiving. It looked like you had to walk a lot to get your stuff. Cutting board at zhe top, quick oven at the bottom for something that have to be cooked and chopped a thousand times.

Stuffing is a big step, it seems.
Oh hey new stream VOD!
just started this episode, can't he fill up the frozen prep during practice?
Nope, practice is just for practicing cooking/waiting tables etc
I mean, technically yes, but anything you do in practice other than setting smart and corner grabbers gets reset when you end practice mode. So, the frozen prep would go back to how it was
the soggy gobbler
This is good youtube. ❤
