I’m a work-at-home mom - the days are full and the days are looooong. As much as I love to cook, inevetibly, there will be one night out of the week where I just don’t have a lot to give in the effort department. When I know it’s going to be a long day, it’s #crockpot #chickenlegs for the win.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
2 - 2 1/2 pounds chicken legs
2 1/2 teaspoons Kosher salt
1 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons oil (avocado, canola, or olive oil)
HOW TO MAKE THEM:
1. Pat each drumstick dry with a paper towel and transfer to a 4-6 quart crock pot.
2. Combine all of the dry seasoning in a small bowl and stir to combine. Drizzle the chicken with oil and rub to adhere to each leg. Then, sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the chicken and rub all over to adhere.
3. Cover and turn on the low setting. Cook for 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Serve and enjoy!

I decided to get my crockpot out of mothballs and try this recipe. I have not had much luck in the past with crockpot chicken recipes. I was glad I took the chance with this recipe. For those worried about not adding any liquid, don't. When done, there was a small amount of a delicious sauce that came from the juices of the chicken and the rub, which I poured over the chicken legs before serving. Like some, I was worried that 4 hours on low would not give it enough time to cook through, so I started out on high for 2 hours and then turned it down to low for the last 2. They came out perfect. We are not fans of chicken skin, so I removed it before serving. Even my husband, who pretty much hates chicken, said he liked it and would eat it again. I will definitely make this chicken again.
That's SO AWESOME, Christine! Yay for a new dish on the rotation ❤️ So happy it made the cut!
Great. Just got a crockpot and still learning how to use it to cook different stuff. And the smile makes it even easy to follow along.
Thank you so much, Ron! ☺️
Oh my goodness!! I can't believe how easy this was. I didn't add any water like her and slow cook it for 8 hours in the crock pot since I was going to be at work. I used the avocado oil and used my own seasoning, and it was so good. My family enjoyed it 😊😍👍
Loved getting to read this. Thank you for sharing Natalie!
Looks great and easy to make. ❤
Love the recipe, gonna try it 😋
One of my favorite chicken recipes! Thank you.
Super easy and absolutely delicious. I used avocado oil and followed the directions to a T. I cooked in the slow cooker for 4 hours on low setting. Be safe and make sure to use a thermometer to make sure that the internal temperature of the chicken is at least 165℉. Enjoy!!!!!
That's awesome! Thank you so much for letting me know!
Absolutely a success in my home! Thank you for the share!!!
That's AWESOME! Thank you, Ortensia! So much 😊
I made this for tonight's dinner.

I’m going to try this tomorrow!
Hooe you loved em ;)
I made it! It was delicious!
Winnnnnning! ✨ Thank you for letting me know!
Thanks for the simple, short recipe. I forgot we even had a crock pot until the cold started setting in, and everyone's craving stew and roasts. The family always loves my chicken in the air fryer, but it can only fit 4 legs at a time. So this will be much easier, to cook a whole pack of legs. Gonna try this tonight with homemade spicy chili sauce, honey, and garlic! Let's see how it turns out!
I brined mine over night and went light on the seasoning, thanks for the video!
Oh that's so smart! Yummy!
Hi from Canada 🇨🇦 will certainly try this will let you know thankx

This is so good over saffron rice 😊
Ooo yum!
I followed the recipe and loaded up two 9x13 pans with chicken legs and cooked them in our warming drawer and they were amazing! When you can get our entire family to agree on a dish you know you have a hit. Thanks for posting this!
Winnnnnnning! Thanks for telling me, Tim. So glad your family enjoyed their chicken 🙌🏼
At what temperature.
@@dianet1994 I don't really have a temperature setting. Our warming drawer can be set to either "Slow Cooker - Low" or "Slow Cooker - High". I usually use the low setting.
@@TimLewallen
i made them 2 days ago. Yummy!
Tried this today 7/22)21 I think this is the best tasting chicken I ever made!!!
That's like the greatest compliment EVER! Thank you, Michael ☺️
I put mine under the broiler for 3 or 4 minutes on low so they would be crispy. Then I followed your recipe! Beautiful! Nothing makes me happier than a woman cooking in the kitchen. I loved helping my mother. Truly a traditional woman. Great recipe, thank you.
Great idea! So glad you enjoy my content :)
Excellent, I always thought the crock pot needed a bunch of liquid! Totally will try this one out
Hope you enjoy!!!
I love the recipe and the only thing I would probably let my rub stay on the chicken overnight in the refrigerator and then I let it come up to room temperature and then I would put it in the crock pot and when it's done I would put it over in my deep fryer for at least for maybe 5 minutes and that way it would Chrisp up skin God bless yà with ❤ Ken.
Great video
Thank you so much! 😊
Thx looking for a simple crock solution that's goes great w steam veggies

SO MUCH BETTER when you mix flour or cornstarch with a little chicken broth…INSTANT GRAVY!

Thanks for cook time I just wanted to know how long it takes I'm going for chicken burritos I'm a single dude with a crock pot I hope you have more videos and thank you
Glad I could be of assistance! Good job cooking for yourself!
This looks great! What side dishes would you recommend for this?
My favorite go-to is cheesy mashed potatoes and fresh green beans, but the great thing about chicken is you can serve almost ANYTHING alongside it! Here's a link to my side dishes. It'll give you lots of options to choose from 😉www.theanthonykitchen.com/category/southern-side-dishes/
Not just a pretty face! Awesome recipe, looks amazing! Can’t wait to try it

Probably the best comment I've ever received 😆 Thank you! Love this SO MUCH!
If I make this and want to add potatoes to the crockpot with the drumsticks, would I need a liquid then or should it still be fine just the way you said?
new subbie ❤
Welcome!! 🤗
Great recipe! May I ask what crockpot brand you’re using here?
That is an All-Clad slow cooker! I still have my old Crock-Pot brand one as well. I can honestly say (maybe with aesthetics aside) they're both great and cook very similarly :)
Is there a way to do it with a pressure cooker?
what slow cooker is thiS?
Thank you for the recipe beautiful! If I use thighs instead, would it still be 4 hours? Thanks.
Thank you for stopping by!! The main thing about chicken is making sure it reaches an internal temp of 165F.
Can wait to try can you marinate overnight?
Hi Carmen! Yes, you can!
what is the ratio to the size of the crock pot? like how many pounds of chicken to a 3 quart, etc pot. this looks delicious, just want to use the right ratios. thanks for making me hungry!
Aw, thank you! Here's a link to the exact one I use! It is a 4-quart crockpot! www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/all-clad-black-ceramic-4-quart-slow-cooker/1043028276
This rn. Halved the recipe, let's see!
Hope you like it!
Do I need to put stock or anything on the bottom for burning?
Hi Chris! No, that won't be necessary :)
Could I sear the 🍗🍗🍗 chicken legs b 4 I put them in the crock ? I like the lines & color & flavor my grill pan makes....?
Thanks for the resepe,I just got the ingredens from Tesco & I'm looking forward to try it. It's okay to cook overnight?
Ps I will let you know what happens I'm new to this. Mj
Fantastic !
Hi there! I'm not sure I would recommend cooking overnight. I think you'll likely end up with overcooked chicken!
This so easy to make, just like mum's cooking
@@TheAnthonyKitchen Thank you for your reply, I left over night on warm after the cooking was done, I must say it was very nice 👌 the chicken didn't get burnt at all. Love your cooking and Thank you. MJ from UK
What setting? How long?
Watch again, pay attention at 2:45 when she answers both of those questions.
Really tasty and easy, but I wish there was a way to brown them some.
Glad you liked it!
Where are the captions?
I have NEVER used a crockpot without liquid (wine, mushroom soup, broth etc). Pls Tell me how this works “dry”? Yes I know you’re using a bit of oil BUT!?!?
Thanku! I’m doing your recipe this weekend.
It’s called dry slow cooking. Think of it like using your oven at a very low temperature 😘 no liquid needed. I promise!!!
I make roasts all the time also, with no liquid. The texture and flavor is so delicious.
Can you do this same recipe with chicken wings?
I can't think of a reason why not! :)
Can/should you put the drumsticks under a oven broiler when done to crisp up the skin?........
For sure! Just watch closely to make sure they don't burn :)
@@TheAnthonyKitchen Thank you.........
Don't eat the skin and have an extra drumstick.
This job is much more practicle to do in stainless steel bowl. Easey to oil and spice the chicken. Mixi, Mixi, done.
Good thought!
Could I know what Crockpot you used in this video?
Hi Alex! This crockpot is by All-Clad! Here's a (non-affilate) link for it! www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/all-clad-black-ceramic-4-quart-slow-cooker/1043028276
Can you add some bbq sauce towards the end and make it bbq chicken? If so for how long?
Hi Gilbert! Yes, you can, but I would recommend finishing them under the broiler after brushing with BBQ sauce. Just watch very closely to make sure your legs don't burn! As soon as you see the sauce begin to bubble, pull the drumsticks out of the oven 👌🏻
@@TheAnthonyKitchen Thank you I appreciate it. 👍
@@gilbertmolina1520 You're welcome! :)
10/10/22-I SOAKED MY CHICKEN LEGS IN A BUNCH OF FRESH SQUEEZED LEMON JUICE AND ADDED SPICES ,CAN I ,SHOULD I ADD THE LEMON JUICE TO MY CHICKEN LEG CROCK POT DISH . U said dry method is best . Will the lemon juice make the legs soggy and rubbery.Have u ever added lemon juice .
I have not tried it with lemon juice, but you could always add a little zest and rub the chicken down with that :)
Did u add any water?
No, this method is called dry slow cooking ;) No water needed!
Are you the voice from mojo?
Just confirming, LOW for 4 hours? Typically it’s high setting for 4 hours, but wasn’t sure if because it’s dry slow cooking it’s different?
no water at all? i am going to try this
Hope it turned out so good!
Would have liked a pic of the raw chicken as you placed into crock pot. Ty kindly
I'll have to remember that next time!
What is the point of seasoning the skin on the legs if it’s going to be removed and not eaten?
Can I use chicken thighs instead ??
Unfortunately this recipe has not been tested with any substitutions yet so I can't speak to that. Sorry!
What kind of crockpot is that ?
It is an all-clad slow cooker! Love it!
What crockpot is that?
This is the all-clad round slow cooker :)
:)
It’s a excellent rice cooker but the one I bought it’s too big
Oh bummer! I'm sure you can find some use for it though!
You are beautiful 😍
That's so sweet! Thank you so much!
FIY- the pat dry part could introduce some micro particles of the paper and it could be laced with plastics etc. Cooking and eating trace amounts of paper or plastics could disrupt the hormones etc.
Just my opinion, good video!
You didn’t even say how long
Here's the written recipe!
Ingredients
2 - 2 1/2 pounds chicken legs
2 1/2 teaspoons Kosher salt
1 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
2 tablespoons oil (avocado, canola, or olive oil)
Instructions
Pat each drumstick dry with a paper towel and transfer to a 4-6 quart crock pot.
Combine all of the dry seasoning in a small bowl and stir to combine. Drizzle the chicken with oil and rub to adhere to each leg. Then, sprinkle the seasoning evenly over the chicken and rub all over to adhere.
Cover and turn on the low setting. Cook for 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Serve and enjoy!
