    I figured out how to turn the Sonoff Basic RFR2 into a dry relay and installed it on my door. Works great. Now, I have the extra benefits of using a 433 MHz remote control to open my garage and retained the voice and app capability of the Basic.

      Hi ! I was thinking of exactly that !!! Is the process the same ? Can you share a link of how to do it ?

    Sorry, i dont understand why you are broken two device to generate another that you could buy for a price maybe smaller that a sonoff basic?? But the video is hipnotic. Good job :)

    Great Video. Followed your instructions and works great. However, now there's a RF version of the Basic. Actually a RFR2 and RFR3. Can you show us how to mod one of them so we can use it the same, but can also add a 433 MHz RF remote to use it as a dry relay? Please?

    Hola, quiero hacerlo con un control marca BFT, encontré tu video porque tengo la misma situación de no poder entrar a la caja del portón y tú me has dado una idea, gracias por tomarte el tiempo

    hey, how about some simple instructions detailing exactly what you're doing here?

      @@jodasm Hi there! in fact it´s a simple mod . I only did the conversion from a sonoff basic to use the relay as a simple temporary switch. probably in next video I will do it more detailed.

      @@jodasm not exacly like the link you refer, since i´ve used the original sonoff firmware.

      Thanks, I’ve used the link which only required cutting with a dremel to separate the relay from the 240v feed in.

      Why didn't you use the default black wire instead your white wire?

    • @simtrihacks100
      @simtrihacks100  5 лет назад +1

      @@asadulhuq 2 reasons : 1st the original black wires were conected to neutral and Line, this had to be changed, since I only wanted to use the sonoff relay to simulate the remote switch button, and 2nd because the current that passes thu the wires is so low that I can use a small diameter wire.

    Well... I want to do exactly the same: use the sonoff basic r2 to "press the button" of my garage door, and it exploded when I turned the sonoff on. Obviously because of the 220v input. I couldn't discover how to do it yet.

  • @jean-marca4454

    Bonjour, mettre un relais en 220 VOLT directement a la sortie du module Sonoff Basic v2 permet le même résultat en pouvant réutiliser le module normalement plus tard.

    Why not forget the remote and connect yellow and green wires to screws on garage opener? You have power near the garage motor for power.

    • @simtrihacks100
      @simtrihacks100  3 года назад +1

      in my case this is not possible, since it´s a building garage gate, and I don't have access to the gate motor

  • @pg1pg10

    Not sure that the white thin telephone wire used for connecting #1 to #1 and 2 to 2 will handle constant 220v or 110v. Is that even safe? I would have kept the #1 wire where it was (not cut it) and use the other blk wire cut or similar gauge for the #2 to #2. This would get both wires some separation (one staying on one side of board and one on the other). The white wires could melt off the plastic and start a fire. Just my 2 cents.

    • @simtrihacks2931
      @simtrihacks2931 4 года назад

      the white thin wires were used because there is no hi power current passing in this case, since there is no 110 or 220 volts . It´s only low power , since it´s only closing the circuit to press the remote for the garage . It´s around 12v dc and some micro ampere current.

    Too much extra work. You dont need the remote at all. Just connect the 2 wires to the 2 wires coming from garage motor to remote switch ( Find the spot on the side of the garagae door motor )

      @@simtrihacks100 Please look at the title of your video it says "Modify Sonoff Basic v2 to control remote garage door" . You should change the title to "Modify Sonoff Basic v2 to control remote gate". That way people will not get confused. Furthermore, at the end of your video you dont even show the Garage Gate opening. Please add that part as well. We like to see your modification in action ( In other words we like to see the garage gate opening )
