  • If you are using calendar, daily notes, periodic notes, and other plugins to journal in obsidian, its time to ditch all of those. The journal plugin is the all-in-one package you need to start your journaling journey in Obsidian. In this vide, I've talked about how you can install, configure, and start Journaling right away.

Love from Nepal ! I have been searching for a tutorial video on how to create journal step-by-step and stumbled upon you. I find this video clearly explained and informative for a beginner like me (Got way too overwhelmed by the vastness of the plugins). Thank you so much !

I am getting back into Obsidian and trying to find people who clearly explain how it has been frustrating. I really enjoy your videos and find them one of the most informative online. Thank you.

Hey Prakash! Wow, what a gem you've stumbled upon! As we waved goodbye to February and yesterday (because let's be real, yesterday counts too!), I was crossing my fingers for something like this in Obsidian-something that could handle monthly and weekly reviews and help plan for the months ahead. And guess what? Your clip comes swooping in like a superhero to save the day! It's like you read my mind! Thanks a ton for putting in all that effort-it's truly appreciated! 🎁😄

I agree with everybody else: Thank you for this video -- and all the work you do. I love these "introductions" as a way for me to see a plugin in action, helping me (a none-coder) visualize how it works and, more importantly, how it can work for me in my Obsidian world.

Glad this appeared in my recommendations. I've recently settled into a flow that uses monthly and quarterly notes, and was wishing the Calendar plugin accomodated that. I do prefer the cleaner visual appearance of Calendar, but Journals has far superior functionality. Only thing I wish Journals had that Calendar/Periodic Notes has is the ability to read deeper folders as well. I'd like to sort my stuff at least into quarters, like I could with Calendar/Periodic Notes and have the calendar detect all the dates within those folders. Oh well, the more useful Journal calendar eliminates the need to spend so much time navigating around folders.

Very nice. Now to move about 140 Daily Notes files to the folders setup in Journals. First I will have to ponder if I need weekly and monthly notes.

    Thanks for the plugin introduction.
The functionality is good, but the downside is the navigation size is big.
And it's a shame that the calendar is not resizable and small.

True. It occupies a little extra space. A small minimal one would be better imo.

Hello Prakash, there is a way that in properties add tags in the template, so I do not need to add it every time I open note a new note in the same propertyy

It works except for showing the present day. I can see the calendar and navigate on weeks and days that aren't the present day. How can I fix this?
