Perez effed up his race with his amazing qualy, and the last picometer of hope for points (and an honorable finish - by Checo standards) was ruined with the genius strategy call.
McLaren you fools! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders - the most famous of which is "never get involved in a land war in Asia" - but only slightly less well-known is this: "Never let Lando choose tires when the race is on the line."

To be fair, he had a good race, was in front of big names and was unlucky to not get a point. Also, he's _waaaay_ better than any of us!
one small thing people almost everybody over the weekend missed was Ocon and Alpine in qualifying -- completely missed sending him out when the track was optimal, and rushed him to the line. on his radio his race engineer told him he missed the line by two seconds, only for him to realize he'd actually made the line by one second but because his engineer told him otherwise, he didn't do the lap. drama, drama, drama.
This is the sixth different winner this year.
And none of them Checo

I genuinely had to pause the video to fact-check the claim that Hulkenberg had scored more points in the last 2 races than Checo in the last 6 - to be absolutely shocked to find it to be true. Silverstone reminding us why it is the 'original' Grand Prix track. Probably the best race of the year so far. Let F1 management understand that if you ever try and replace Silverstone with a generic London street circuit, British F1 fans will hunt you down.

He makes everything prior to the race in advance and then quickly adds on the race commentary likely with any non race clips prepared in advance for overlay (like interview shots etc). I imagine he also clips portions of the race footage as he watches it too.

I think they said mediums on the broadcast but it couldve been hards. Norris was definitely on the wrong tire for sure.

The Sky coverage said they were new hard tyres fitted. The only mediums Max had were used. I'm not sure if he had any soft tyres but they may have been a struggle to get to the end with decent grip left.

Great job as always!!! Happy for #blessed. He is not that washed up and for once we didn't hear him whining like a baby about the car or other drivers (usually as they are overtaking him). Also, Lando's strategy team (or lack of one) cost him the race. Butt clowns, all of them.
One last note, Kingstappen was on the hard at the end. 3 more laps and he would have won the race. lol.

Not for the first time a catastrophic error by Mclaren, shoving Lando on Softs when any one with a brain could see Mediums were the answer, and pitting Piastri too late, thereby throwing away a Maclaren first and third, or possibly second. Still, nice to see the master of rain winning, and as always a great review.
McLaren seemed to dither with Lando but the driver could have demanded Mediums as Piastri did.

This race had everything that I love about Formula 1. Weather changes that challenged the driver skills, multi choices of different strategies and driver cerebral thinking. Today Lewis Hamilton and his team showed why he is the GOAT. To be fair (even though I am not a Max fan) Max showed why he is a next generation driver only surpass by the GOAT himself L.H. Notice how a brilliant driver like Norris fell away on a newer set of soft tires was not able to manage the tire as well as L.H. Though nothing will makeup for the robber in 2021 but a sweet victory none the less.

his car was taken apart and put together minutes before the race started as it wasn't working. they used his previously used PU, MGUK, MGUH etc and it dropped his pace significantly. you might wanna tell their race directors that their very real reason is just an "excuse" because you said so

Really struggled to sort the difference between Red Bull's special livery and their normal one. Eventually figured out that instead of a red line it had red splotches.

Max wasn't on the mediums at the end, it was a new set of hards. They didn't have any new mediums at that point - unlike McLaren...
I'm actually very pleased with the fact that the same weekend I turned 30, I had a race like this too enjoy. Plus, dirt track racing in my local area was top-notch as well!
Max actually slapped on the hard tires at the end not the mediums. I remember seeing Lewis and Noris put the softs on and Max the hard and I got nervous....but turns out hards were the right call.
