I agree with those below who say to not worry about it. The delight of being a virtual guest in your home, seeing the garden, the dogs, listening to your stories and to the bass lines WAYYYY over-rides that you are not in a studio. These videos have honesty, integrity, and yes folks, real life. I giggle when you say goodbye and I wave goodnight (it is here when I watch these).
I never noticed any glasses reflection before and can't believe there are people out there that it seems to bother. Most of us here are just happy to see and hear Lee each day.
I could not care less about reflections. I come here for the amazing content you deliver day after day.
Nine thumbs down? One of the most prolific musicians and contributors to so much of the real, good music with depth of soul we've been fortunate enough to hear over the past 50 years is kind enough to sit and share with us and you give him a thumbs down? Even if I didn't like his music or whatever, I would at least be respectful and say nothing.
So many happenings in my life have music associated with it that had Lee Sklar playing bass. I am retired and disabled and currently on chemotherapy to treat cancer. One of the wonderful things in my life at this time is listening to a musical hero, a nice, kind, funny, enjoyable man sitting down and sharing stories and music with us, with me in my waning years.
So grateful to be able to hang out with you here and hear your stories. Never imagined it possible. Thanks Leland.

You mentioned Pantagous Theater.... My wife and I saw Phantom of the Opera back in the early 90s! One of the best best shows ever I have ever seen along with Ritchie Havens at Earlville Opera house back in the early 90s as well.

Lee, we played the crap out of The Section's first two records back in the day. Holy Frijoles was my favorite song of yours. We went to see The Section at a club in LA in the 70's. A huge thrill for me. I was a young bassist and I just idolized you. Simply the best!

Leland, you are such an incredible Bass player, in fact, you are my favorite Bass player! You are the spice that has given a distinct flavor to all the albums you've played on. Genuinely kind, humble, and authentic! Great stories! You do wonderfully with your rapport with your "virtual" audience; I feel as if your sitting in my living room tell stories and chatting with me! Great stuff as always Lee. It's wonderful that you and the other members of the Section have remained friends as well as musical associates over the years.
Seriously..reflections. I just started watching you..seen about 8 or 9 videos. I absolutely love them. You have always been a great bass player. James and Carole King are two of my faves. I had tickets to James’s tour with Bonnie Raitt in Canada that was cancelled due to COVID-19. Thankfully I saw Beautiful the musical a month before the lockdown.
I digress.. you Russ Kunkel and Danny Korchmar thrill me. Thanks for these videos. I’m a 70 year old living in beautiful Victoria, BC Canada. In my head I’m 15-30 depending on the day. Your stories make me smile. Live concerts have given me such great memories but I dig listening to music any way..well almost😉. My family has been making music for years. My aunt lived with and worked with Lenny Breau, my brothers have been playing for decades and my mother and aunts sang in the 40’s locally. Ok done...keep these videos coming

First, let me thank you for your efforts creating this wonderful channel. I am a guitar player learning bass guitar. The biggest challenge for me is learning to write bass parts. I asked my MD who I should study, of course he replied, "Leland Sklar". You have now created the Sklar masterclass, and for that, thank you.
Secondly, don't worry about the reflection in your glasses. Sitting in front of the window with that big wonderful light source on you face is more important. Watching you silhouette would not be very interesting.

Lee i cannot believe people are worried about the reflection in your glasses! Sir they add to the whole daily experience that you kindly provide for us fans, and proves that you are as human as we all are! mmmm! well maybe you are a bit more super human and a genius!. Pictures of your amazing last 50 years of playing would've been fantastic but watching you re-live songs whilst your listening to them opens up the imagination, and it is a great 2nd best to pictures. The Section is fantastic, and for you all to be in your early twenties when you recorded this stuff is phenominal! It's no wonder you have all had the career you all have! in Polish law! luv ya.xx

I just like the stories. Reflection on your glasses don’t mean much to me. Just love the stories. The music that was completed was a different style from the 70’s. Larry Carlton style mixed with Moody Blues.

I just watched „The Section“ with the introducing words of Steve Lukather. Great people, most successful people, but Lee appearing on more than 2500 productions as bassist, that can‘t be topped. And that Lee always is humble in every situation, that makes him one of the greatest rock musician of all time. And luckily 2020 is not the end, this workaholic will go on enjoying us with his existance in every respect... simply great. Watching this in the future year of 2023. Great stuff. I missed so much music in my youth but I am catching up. Loved the two Section songs you shared today and also the ramblings. My husband saw The Section do the open for The Mahavishnu Orchestra and said he preferred the opening act :)
Life is complex, but you have a way of breaking it down to it’s simplest essence; music, friends, humor.
Being a huge fan of The Section's playing , recording skills and sounds, I was a drummer & student in high school in 1965-1967 in Lima, Pennsylvania (just outside of Philadelphia) and at college at UNC/Chapel Hill (1967-1971)loving every thing that Russ Kunkel ever played on from James to Bob Dylan, to Jackson Browne, Carol King, CSNY, and wherever I could find his name on an album along with the rest of The Section. As chance would have it, I met his cousin , Margot Chapman in Washington DC and began living with her from 1972 to 1976. She introduced me to Russ in 1973 at a CSNY concert in the DC area. Seeing him play live was a total trip for he owned every note of every song and grooved them to the hilt. I had already acquired The Section's 1st two albums and enjoyed them stretching out into more advanced musical directions as heard on those albums where they delighted in displaying their additional diverse musical skills. In the winter of 1966/67, my brother, Robin , who was attending the University of North Carolina at the time, came home with the original acetates of James Taylor's 1st album......I was a senior in High School at age 18 born the same year as James so, I was blown away at the quality of music he had come up with including the clever orchestral compositions between each cut on his record. To this day, I am unsure how my brother got hold of those acetates...perhaps by knowing Alex or James but, nonetheless, it introduced me to The Section and endeared me to their sounds which I love to this day. The music they created speaks louder than words!! James's Father was the head of the medical department at UNC so I think Robin had befriended them during his time at UNC. When I attended UNC, I ended up playing a concert featuring Kate and Alex Taylor. I backed up Chuck Berry that day on drums while Spirit and The Allman Brothers waited to do their sets of music after Chuck Berry.. Over my years in LA from 1976 to 2020, I have enjoyed all of the musical contributions made by The Section whether as a group or as individual players. They are the best.
The reflection on the section is all I’m interested in, the reflection on the glasses is no issue!

I first want to say the Section, is the best.....James was the one I first modeled and learned from, for my guitar playing, and then took that (in retrospect), to the electric.... I love the work you do, the inspiration you bring! My friend who works the L. A. studio scene, a bass player.. cites your influence greatly.... I saw the Jackson Browne, Dr. my eyes vid, and was blown away, to "watch" the bass lines I know from ear, by heart... being of that era, , and to see your vids, really has only heightened my admiration of your melodic and unexpected lines....

The only complaint I would have; Is when you play these tracks, It would be nice if these were run through an interface for sake of clarity. They sound so "Freaki'n Awesome !!!" Sadly... Like you said; music is so fluid here in the States and if it's Not "Selling" It gets Deleted or Shelved. Other countries are much more inclined to keep catalogs "in print" regardless of how obscure the music is.
It really is incredible that you share these rare gems with us. I'd buy these albums in a min... if they were available. Thanks for sharing your musical life with us... It's truly a treasure.

There is something so amazingly special about the world of music and musicians. I am only a tiny spec in that world because I havenoodled with bass, acoustic and electric, mostly in my own world. I misse that branch in the road that lead to playing in a band more than a handful of times.But it allows me to feel I am related enough. It’s sort of like being proud to have lived and enjoyed the life in the 60s and 70s. I can’t explain the feeling but I have such a deep love and appreciation for rock and roll and playing enough to enjoy myself.

Loved it Leland. So awesome to take a walk back in time during the 70's. I remember my good friend Criag Steele aka Birdman and I in 75 I believe hitched Hike from South Jersey to Philadelphia to see Jackson Browne. I believe it was the Pretender Tour. We had no clue of how we were even getting back home. But we fiqured it out. What a Great Show. We played the hell out of Late For the Sky, For Everyman and the Pretender. Saturate too. But hearing the story of the Section is really awesome. Thanks for opening up your life with us its been a Pure Joy.
