My wife is refusing chemo therapy for breast cancer and doing the Gerson juicing therapy. Gerson is pseudo-science for cancer treatment, at best. It's based on testimonials. It may be good to prevent cancer but once a cell has undergone mutagenesis and you have cancer, it's a new ballgame. Can you address this in a video? It's doing real harm by creating cult-like false hope.
I've cut way back on my sugar intake and carbs since watching these videos but I still have my cheat day on Fridays where I drink beer and eat junk food. Do you think that's too often to break my diet?
Sten good morning, I'd like to know how you feel about feuling the body first thing in the morning by juicing whole lemons. Along with a strict diet and 1 meal a day, It's become a ritual that changed my life permanently.
@@6789uiop My wife did the Gerson plan for 1 year: Norwalk Juicer - juicing around $400/week organic greens, carrots, etc, 8 times a day, organic coffee enemas 4 times a day, for a little over a year, no progress on reducing the tumor whatsoever. She finally gave in to radiation and chemo, and still died 6 months later. Don't trust Gerson plan.
I bought salmon the other day and it said, "Wild caught atlantic salmon" and on the bottom label it said "farm raised." Companies need to be held accountable for misinformation.
You are right, they are even changing the way to tag or name those additives with different names, or only says "additives" and you don't know which additives you are eating.
The number one by far is sugar. It's the ultimate cell killer, and source of addiction (for me personally). Intermittent fasting and keto has completely changed my life. 🤓❤️😍

I've warned people about this many years ago and they laughed at me and said "From something you are going to die of anyways, so don't be a paranoid person and live life to the fullest". Now these people no longer walk on earth, and surprisingly none of them reached their senior ages.
I discovered your channel early in 2021 and have watched numerous videos. Got off the sugar and other bad foods and am now eating healthy meals twice a day with a 30 minute walk in the evening. Lost over 40 pounds of excess fat this year and my mind is sharper than ever! Thank you Sten for sharing your knowledge about how the body really works so that we can live healthy lives! And Happy New Year too!
I have been very suspicious of the USA food industry for a long time and you have just reinforced how poorly our food I’d grown and processed in this country. Politicians have no conscious in this country. Thank you Dr Ekberg for sharing this information.
The UK is considering buying chicken cleaned in bleach (!) from the US..... Pretty sure most of Europe has banned it, but Britain is no longer in the EU......so.......
Dr. Ekberg and Dr. Berg have been instrumental in changing my health. I was 205 pounds a year ago (5’10” age 39) and a bone marrow donor for my brother. Docs dug into my health and found I had fatty liver. I ate junk, drank booze (with Advil), and was inactive. I didn’t start dieting until late August 2021. I’m not on full keto, but I no longer drink and I’ve cut out 90-95% of my sugar. I’m now 165 and 40 years old and feel great! Best thing is I’m keeping the weight off and have developed healthy habits. Feels so good to eat clean. Thank you Dr. Ekberg and Dr. Berg!
Congrats Robert. I to started watching these videos of Dr. Ekberg and Dr. Berg, as well as Dr. Ken Berry. I learned so much from watching these gentlemen taking their time to teach us something that is against the grid. (in some cases) My sugars were way to high and I am way over weight. So far since February, I have lost 35 pounds of fat. I also went from a 9.7 a1c to a 6.6 a1c. I plan on lowering that number even more. I wont be satisfied until I reverse my diabetes. I still have much weight to lose. But I'm doing it. Thanks to these people who have taken the time to teach us these things.
I live in Tasmania Australia ,unfortunately salmon farming is riff, polluting our waters ,destroying fish habitat. Our government allowed foreign ownership which makes matters worse
Food colouring is a serious chemical that creates severe migraine headaches in my wife and kids. I am glad someone is speaking out about this. Please, Dr. Ekberg, keep up the good work!
Margarine is everywhere in Finland . I was in shock when started living here. The teacher of my son told him in school, to eat it daily instead of butter cause , butter comes from animals and margarine is plantbased ... People are absurd
It's not absurd to try to avoid impacting on other sentient animals. Just that, in this case, it's bad strategy because margarine has some nasties, and doesn't taste good. Then again, given how cold it is in Finland, maybe a lot of people use marg for convenience?
People are not absurd. They're ignorant - which literally means "uninformed", but or they make a choice about how they want to live (and possibly die). There's no excuse for being uninformed in this day and age, and the rule re food has always been, "everything in moderation". Also, people START smoking and taking other drugs, including alcohol, knowing the dangers and probability of a bad outcome. That's not 'absurd'. It's a conscious choice. At the end of the day, we all have to die of something. The question becomes, "what's our poison?" For some, it may well be fast food which isn't mentioned in this video about food. For others, it could be drugs, alcohol or smoking. Humans are inherently flawed in this matter. No other creature deliberately poisons itself through food or drink, what it ingests!
Thank you so much, Dr. Ekberg: 1.- for taking the time to address both native English speakers and non-English audiences. I say this because my first language is not English. However, you explain things with a such a clear rate of delivery that concepts can easily be assimilated. 2.- for sharing your experience and knowledge, so that people all over the world can learn about health-issues, as if they were reading a comprehensive medical encyclopedia.
Your English seems wonderful. Are you the type who is fluent in the written form, rather than oral form (speech) of a language? I can speak basic Russian and read words, but struggle to understand written text.
@@alicia-hd2cs I thought the same, wonderful English for non-native. I can read a lot of Portuguese but not write it, speak it only haltingly and find it difficult to 'hear', even having lived there for years. Learning another language past toddlerhood is very difficult & nearly impossible for some adults like myself. You did well to manage any Russian!
This is the only health channel I continue to watch. Love the learning. I can't imagine how much research goes into bringing us this wonderful information every week. Thank you Sten for helping us be health champions. Happy new year! I hope it's a beautiful year ahead for everyone. 🤗
Thank you Miriam Grieve. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain things better than other channels and help people understand the principles. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and the mechanism we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. Happy New Year 😄
Dr Eric Berg channel is awesome too. It's a great privilege to have them on youtube. These are my goto specialists but for some reason Dr Berg has 3x more subscriber???
the size of a chicken or a turkey in Australia is half the size of same in the USA... no hormones or biotics can be used in any food stuffs in Australia, against the law
Being the USA a country where all these products are permitted, which are banned in most other developed countries, because there are a lot of corrupt politicians in the US, it would be interesting to do a statistical study comparing incidence of cancer between the US and those other countries where those products are banned.
@@thomasroth4695 this is why I didn’t take the vax, since when has the US gov. ever shown a keen interest in the health of its citizens, even the food pyramid was upside down for decades. Now all of a sudden they move heaven and earth and subsidize a shot by the billions? It doesn’t compute.
I grow all my fruit and veg, with the exception of lemons, not intentionally, but as a holdover from when I was very poor. It still shocks me when I go to a supermarket and see the amount of processed foods. You would think my adult kids would know better, but they are the same, it's all 'ready to eat'. So sad when people are complaining about rising 'grocery' costs, but won't make the effort to buy local raw ingredients. They pay so much for these poisonous additives :(
There are healthy brands out there, but you have to read labels to find them! Simple Mills, Primal Kitchen, and Mary’s Gone Crackers are just three of many examples, clean as can be. I would rather pay a little more and know that I’m not ingesting carcinogenic, sugar laden garbage.
Thank you Dr Ekberg for calling out these ingredients. It helps me when I'm shopping to avoid these foods. I find your videos so "common sense" and often you say things that confirm what I've been saying for a long time. Keep up the good work.
Tasmania has numerous “Tasmanian devils”, like on Buggs Bunny and he and his kind often take a dump after raiding the farm raised salmon,, IN THE SAME WATERS!!
Re #8 bovine hormones. Similar story of at least potential fraud on the part of human vaccine makers in 'Turtles all the way down, vaccine science and myth' p.98. ' " a causal association could not be established" between the reported adverse event and the vaccine. Naturally, there is never any mention of the fact that no attempt was made to establish whether or not a causal link exists. ' Unfortunately this is merely an assertion, unsupported by evidence, on the part of the authors but at least it makes us aware of what the vaccine makers may be hiding, and that so-called controlling bodies may be colluding with them -- or that they're just dumb. (The book is worth reading but I find it atrociously written.)
Thanks to this doctor I have completely overhauled my diet and got rid (mostly) of sugar, refined/processed foods and refined oils. I feel lighter with lots of energy (who would have thought?) and my skin is the best i remember it being since my early twenties.
Dr. Stenberg is my favorite channel right now! Thank you for your knowledge and keeping us healthy! Whenever I think I’m pretty knowledgeable about my diet, there’s always something new to learn. ❤️
My youngest son had ADHD. It was simply called hyperactivity in those days in the 80's in the UK. We found food & drink with coal tar derivative artificial colourings, Sodium benzoate preservative in lemonade & Mono Sodium Glutamate triggered it. Even small amounts could trigger the problem. When we avoided giving him foods with those chemicals in then then no probs. I'm just glad we took the trouble to find the cause instead of him going on Ritalin. We spoke to other parents who had the same problem. But in those days the government denied additives could cause it. Lobbying by big food & drink companies I have no doubt. Which is really bad as the effects can be devastating on the child & the family.
"You vote with your wallet!" What a clever idea to get some change of habits through. It cuts both ways; the consumer can steer away from all those poisonous chemicals in the things we buy, and the producers of all these unwanted items in our food are hit where they feel it the most: in their pockets! Keep on educating us Dr. Ekberg. Thank you for sharing this information with us. Have a healthy lifestyle! Greetings to you all from The Netherlands!!
“Junk Food”, “Fast Food”, “Processed Food”, - the clue is in the title - too many ingredients, too many chemicals, factory made and fried in vegetable (seed) oil - AVOID at all cost.
Pretty much any interview/report I read about people that live past 100 years old state that they consume little to no processed foods, very little dairy, and avoid meat or completely abstain from it. They focus on raw organic foods like berries, vegetables, nuts, eggs etc
Thanks Dr Ekberg!! I love watching and learning from your videos. I have been eating fairly healthy all my life and now you just took me to the next level!! You're awesome!!
Thank you for this very interesting information. I am grateful that I live in Europe too, as it seems we have stricter controls over food content than many other places. Still requires watchful consumption though!
When I went to markets in the Philippines, I noticed vegetables and fruits tiny compared to what we have here in Toronto I asked the sellers and said that produce are farmed with no pesticides Almost everything are organic and non gmo
Thank you so much for all you do for humanity! Because of your clear explanation I truly understood how to avoid to become a diabetic. My doctor wanted me to take medicine and to eat 5-6 x/a day. I follow your advice and my blood sugar is 80-90, as before was 150-250. God bless you!
Thank you Rebecca for sharing your great results and helping inspire others. That is so awesome. I am thrilled that you have seen such great results. Keep it up! 😄
24 Karat Gold advice for flipping your life around. This guy (Doc. Ekberg) backs up his claims with in-depth research that the average person simply doesn't have the means or tenacity to dig up and explain in simple terms - i.e. "These are bad for you, and they go by the common scientific or label name of . . . " over and over Dr. Ekberg lays it out like that. Sooo valuable for those who have tried so many angles, but have been led astray. Please continue to post these gems. Totally required viewing for anyone in trouble and needing to get on the healthy tracks. This is the 3rd video of his that I've binge-watched. These are that important👍
Crooked politicians was bought not to vote for its ban. DOESNT MEAN its fine to eat. Use logic to decide whats right to you, if you see some bad sensations after eating this or that product
yes we grow Atlantic Salmo down in Tasmania - Bass Strait by the mega company Tassal. What they feed the fish is called "Skretting" Australia. I wrote to them and asked for its ingredients and they never got back to me. I wish I could source and afford wild Salmon. But the Wild Salmon fish oil caps are full of Soy oil so it is hard to win! My dog won't eat the caps so I won't either. Love your work. I buy the best food I can afford. I don't eat pasta, bread or rice for at least 2 full years. I am loving my health changes. Getting up early to go walking 1st Jan to get new Garmin badge. Good food and good exercise = happy person. 2022 is all about YOU 💖 HEALTH
Happy New Year to you Dr. Sten! Thank you for sharing these informative videos with us! Cheers to a healthier 2022 to everyone! Let's continue transforming ourselves to become healthier! Never give up! We can all do this!
I used to happily eat farm raised fish. Then my friend got a job at a salmon farm and told me all of the horrors that you have outlined. I will never eat farm raised fish again!
I stopped eating farmed salmon once I learned the color is artificial some 20 years ago. I stopped drink coke some 10 years ago once I leaned it is colored by a substance of sugar and ammonia reacted at the temperature of 500 degree C. So I do not eat anything from a factory anymore now.
Mass-farming for any animal is disgusting. I have a feeling it will be mostly banned in many countries within the next 30-40 years as more and more people become aware of how it all works. Better to be a vegetarian or vegan anyway
@@nicebars Veganism is just another unhealthy disproven trend and no different than the "low-fat" or "margarine is better than butter" bandwagon that everyone jumped on before. Free-range land animals and wild-caught seafood is the healthy way to go and will stand the test of time.
@@TheUtuber999 I'm personally a vegetarian and it has done nothing but make my life better in every way since I quit meat 3 years ago. Countless others I have talked to say the same thing. Now I'll agree that I don't know many vegans so that may be on the extreme end of the spectrum. But a vegetarian diet, done correctly, is the single best diet for MOST human beings
Wow Dr. Stenberg: This is an eye opener. After 40 year of making so many wrong choices with food not knowing what we were not only eating but feeding to our parents and children. Thank you so much for all the great information you bring to us. We are becoming wiser and knowledgeable about all info that was hidden from us. You are doing the Lords Gods good work by educating the masses. I just found out of your videos last year. But better late than never. I must say there are not many genuine, selfless people who would give one all the information that you are providing to us simple, daily folks. May God Bless you and may you never stop creating these videos for us. My husband also watches and i try to pass to my children your videos so they are also aware of this. Sadly, companies will feed u anything as long as they can make a buck from u. But we all should become wiser as this is going to skyrocket with these companies competing to make more money at our health’s expense. We pay a handsome sum to treat sickness that they create for us and they profit even then. We all must beat these companies by banning such products completely Thank you so much, again.
I feel like I cannot eat at restaurants. Restaurants would buy the cheapest ingredients to make their menu. Of course, these ingredients contain all of these bad chemicals. I need to move to the mountains and grow my own food.
I will never understand people's fascination with eating sub-par food at most existing restaurants.. you're paying significantly more (including a tip for service if you choose to leave it) and you're consuming food that is as you stated, is cheap and easily accessible for these restaurants. I would much rather eat a home-made meal once a day that is mainly consisting of raw organic food.
@@nicebars Completely agree. More than fascination, I would say that they don't have time or don't feel like making something at home. This is more common in the big cities, where everything has to be done as fast as possible.
Hy , from France ! I love his channel, I used to say to my children and my students "If you can't inderstand the label on a product, don't buy it ! don't eat it! period! " and they usually replied "but what can I eat then ??" my answer was and stil is "all you want, you just have to make it from scratch, and organic would be better" ... it worked... my son, who has left the nest, last yearn even ask me to sent him some videos, to show him how I make my organic bread, my "gratin" (I think it's "casserole" in english"), lasagna.... health and longevity begin in our plates. I wish you all a very healthy and happy 2022 !
I woke up this morning 25 pounds lighter than when I turned 40 in August!! You are THE MAN Dr Ekberg. Thank you so much for all you do. Happy New Year!!!!
Just awful what US tolerate in poisoning their citizens . My sister lives In California and she completely avoids all of this and so careful with food . It’s a relief when she visits uk , makes food choice easier and less inflammatory
Thank you for your thought provoking video. I know of at least two locations in New Zealand where salmon are commercially farmed. I occasionally buy farmed salmon at the local supermarket. It would be interesting to find out more about farming practices here to determine whether NZ salmon is safe to eat.
I drank diet mountain dew day and night for 20 years or more. Now I've got a pos rheumatoid factor and Sjogrens. I started drinking water only 2 years ago. I'm looking more into bromine. Thanks. I'm getting healthier by the day.
Australian farm raised salmon unfortunately is not banned. The salmon farms are in the state of Tasmania and it tastes terrible compared to real Canadian wild salmon.
Farmed salmon is NOT banned in Australia! It is a huge and growing industry. Tasmanian farmed salmon is available in all our stores. Where did you get such MISLEADING information?
I remember when i was young my father made my mother buy margarine instead of butter because the doctor told him it was better to use. My mother still uses it even though I told her not to.
Just spent the last year filling my freezer with Aldi salmon. This video prompted me to check source my Aldi salmon. There is currently a case action suit charging Aldi of misrepresenting "sustainable" salmon. Claims salmon are raised in these net cages as shown in the video. No decision on this case yet. However, I feel let down by Aldi and don't feel I am getting the healthy salmon I thought I was purchasing. It's getting harder in the US to buy healthy with confidence.
As much as I love salmon I have STOPPED eating it. Even in S America you can't find free salmon, most comes from farms in Chile Some good videos on the BC Canada salmon farms, bad deal
@@gocanada9749 Ditto. Not to mention the strontium 90 from Japan's Fukushima reactor messing with tuna, salmon, and other large fish for years to come.
That’s because they don’t want us healthy. There’s no money in that for big Pharma or the FDA or politicians because they all work together and feed off of each other from our sickness created by their policies.
I am never going to stop eating farm raised Salmon been eating that fish 🐟 For 10 years and I always get a great report from my doctor each year I have a physical u have to exercise to counter the things not good for u nobody gonna just eat carrots everyday u people and this guy are CRAZY 😄😄

Thank You Dr Ekberg. I’m an old nurse and reminded to read the labels and ingredient lists again and learned a few new things. I think we all get a little lazy with this from time to time. I was really wanting some Ritz crackers but glad I didn’t get them now.
Hi Dr Sten, what opus your opinion of alternative ‘milks’? Ie, oat, rice soya etc all seem to have rapeseed oil, or some other seed oils in them. Some contemporary advice says to avoid seed oils altogether. This is hard to do when you cannot tolerate cows milk. I now use oat milk, but it has seed oil in it, I’d like to know what is the effect of consuming these ‘alternative products. Is this perhaps why my digestion is so compromised? I would very much like to know what you think. Thank you.
I'm in UK and use Plenish plant Milks, they are organic and simple ingredients eg Cashew milk is just organic cashews, spring water and sea salt. They don't use oils or gelling agents etc
True, to a point. Now, though, the monsters running the world, are figuring-out ways to FORCE us to consume what they're pushing at us. Prisoners, people in nursing homes, children in schools, military personnel, people in hospitals - and many others - are MANDATED to be fed according to "guidelines" and "standards of care". The monsters are controlling the establishment of those "guidelines" and "standards". They're even causing words to be officially "redefined", in order to further their objectives. They're making effective medications illegal, in order to push the ones which are more profitable. In some countries, they've made supplements available only by prescription. They're trying, right this minute, to do that, here in the US. At one point, in the US, they were trying to make home-grown foods illegal to sell, or even to share (for "health" and "sanitation" reasons: factory farms, somehow, were regarded as healthful and sanitary). They'll try, again. And eventually, they'll succeed. And don't forget the deliberately-orchestrated "supply chain crises", which are dandy for forcing consumers to buy whatever remains on the shelves.
@@megaswenson Also, it has been made more and more difficult to purchase seeds that are not either F1 hybrid, gmo, or otherwise non-natural so even your home-grown food may not be what it should.
*It's so difficult to stay healthy in the USA.* Thank you for this valuable information Dr. Ekberg... - Media, food, environment is always attacking. We must keep our guards up.
It's difficult to have heightened awareness and good habits, but once both are achieved, any person should be fine. Just focus on intermittent fasting, exercise, getting good sleep, and eating mainly raw, organic foods.

Go fishing in the ocean mate. Lots of fish there or off shore if you don't have a boat. We agree about the disgusting Tassie salmon and missing our real Canadian wild Atlantic salmon.
@@drekberg Yes wild is the only way to go, reef fish is usually a safe bet, and better tasting. Also, easier to get 😉 Our other downside is that GMO's are now approved and in full production, roundup is used everywhere. It used to be the blessed country, but slipping fast. Sad!!
I’m from Japan(seafood crazy country) and have one advice. Don’t eat lot of Salmon Sushi.Especially raw Salmon. In Japan, Salmon sushi didn’t exist until around 2000. It first came from Scandinavia by succeed in farming Salmon. There are couple reasons we didn’t have Salmon sushi in Japan. First Salmon is not full saltwater fish. As you know They are born in freshwater river & comes back and hatch eggs & die at river. fresh water fishes has way more dangerous parasites witch can live in human body.(because we humans are same fresh water creatures) Salmon is really difficult to farm without drugging them up We eat salmon a lot but we grill them mostly. To farm salmon and make them possible to eat them raw means you need to give them plenty amount of strong antibiotics , antiseptics for preserve it raw. I’m no expert but those have been common sense for a long time. I don’t want to be too strict, So my advice is, you can eat few salmon sushi but just few, challenge other fishes. Don’t eat it often. At least you should grill it.

The farming of salmon is also permitted in the UK. A lot of it comes from Scotland, but sadly not from the open water, but the farm. I am sure they are fed cr...p.
My friend is in sales for a new farm raised salmon company in Norway and eventually they will be opening a plant in Maine. It is always about the money not health.
The more I watch Dr. Ekberg, the more aware I become of how terrifying food is produced in the States. Thank god Europe is smart enough to ban many of these ingredients that are added to the food.

Meat glue "transglutaminase" is banned in EU, but I can tell by some cheap odd shaped chicken pieces sold at iceland that it's still used. It's highly likely it's used in most pre cooked chicken pieces not shaped like part of a real chicken as it's super easy to hide like that. I really don't understand why farmed salmon is the only salmon to find in the grocery store in Sweden.. Not even the fishtruck outside the stores. I live in a town where you can find local fish, lamb moose and deer in the grocery store.. but only farmed salmon?!?!?! To find wild caught salmon you have to order online from a fish truck that travels through the different towns. And still salmon is the main fish used in different keto recipes ..
Hi Betty, I'm Swedish and buy ONLY farmed salmon from the Faroe Islands. Findus sell this as frozen in 4 x 250 pieces. Perfect for my Keto. It's not ideal but read my recent comment. I agree that wild-caught would be best, but Findus is the second best alternative. Cheers.
There's entire documentaries on fish farming issues especially in Norway. It's controlled by politicians and under the guise of "green" and "renewable" with no thought to the people's health.
Thank You @cool007zqw so much for showing your appreciation and supporting the channel, and for helping me get the message of health out to the world. 🙏 🏆 😄
Farmed salmon is a large government sponsored export industry in the Australian state of Tasmania. There is considerable public opposition to this highly marine polluting industry. It should be banned but unfortunately both production and consumption is unrestricted in Australia.
Thank you for this summary. As a member of The Luckiest Generation, I was fed in Mexico through the 1940's. Life in the US in the 1950's was still fairly innocent. Things changed. We were forced as children to eat margarine because my stepfather was fighting obesity--no more butter. Most of the foods that you list are off my dinner table, but nothing tastes the same anymore, from eggs,. fruit, vegetables, and meat. You ask yourself, what are they doing? I avoid anything 'Made in America'.
I was born in South Africa, our fruit and veggies tasted amazing, like normal food should. When I came to Europe the fruits and veggies tasted awful! Had no taste, totally flat bland taste. Fun fact for me. In South Africa the coastal sea water tastes very salty but when i came to Europe and was swimming, I wondered what was "wrong" with the sea water. Where did all the salt go? The sea water is MUCH MUCH less salty. (So many interesting things in life :)
@@ZergRadio Same in North Africa, when people go abroad, to France, England, Canada... etc they all tell us the same thing, vegetables, fruits and meat have no taste! and when they're back, they enjoy eating again!.
The solution: Grow your own fruit trees but also you must have a way to protect them from aerial contamination. Even if it's only a framework which you can cover/uncover quickly & also a clean water supply. (90% shade cloth?) Spray clean if you suspect contamination? Earth ship homes are an ideal solution.
It's scary, Dr Ekberg. We don't even know what to eat nowadays to stay safe. I don't even trust the organic labels at grocery stores. Since I watch your videos and others from Dr Fung, Dr Berg, I successfully perform my intermittent fasting daily 18/6. I am not doing IT for weight loss but for health benefits as I am in the thin body type all my life. Europe countries specially Italy do not sell cow milk. They eat more healthy than us and the foods there don't have organic labels as they all came from a good soil without using any chemical. People were surprised when I asked for organic products at the market. I ate lots of bread and pasta in tuscany and drink wine. I didn't have any issues as I do in the US. I am thinking to move definitely to Italy . You brought very useful information in every your videos Happy New Year, Dr Ekberg ❣️
A Canadian university group of students went around Ontario buying multiple species of fish from multiple grocery and sushi restaurants. Almost nothing was the actual quality or even the fish species it was advertised as. Inferior species were even being coloured to look like another type, sold at a premium.

Check out Blue Salmon farmed raised in south Florida, they are supposed to be about the best farmed salmon, they use a constant crystal clean fresh water supply from the Florida Aquifer along with salt water. I wonder what you think about them??? Also, what about the Barramundi farm raised fish from Viet Nam? A intriguing new type of fish farm is set up here and the fish are sold in most of the so called health markets. The process is supposed to be very sophisticated. Both the Blue salmon farm and the VN farm for sure, the fish do not have any micro plastic in their systems, not something ANY ocean caught fish can claim. I would also watch out for North Atlantic fish like Cod, a very popular fish, but the north Atlantic has way too many ships that sunk in WW2 and are still leaching fuel oils battery acid, all sorts of very bad stuff, that has been encased in the hull of the ship until it rusts out and then unloads massive amounts of toxins into the ocean. Same could be said for the vast South Pacific seas.........terrible that we have polluted so much of the oceans, starting over 100 years ago, with terrible toxins.
Farmed Salmon is freely available in Australia. It is produced in Tasmania. But Dr Sten I feel you are spot on in saying it is a terrible food and must be avoided.
True, unfortunately. I didn’t know that there is even a lot more imega-6 in it than omrga-3. Really bad. I’m from Norway, I think we are the biggest exporter of farmen salmon in the world. This is about to destroy all our wild salmon. In the old days there were enormous Numbers of wild salmon swimming up our rivers. Today this is greatly reduced. I have caught wild salmon and knows the difference even in taste between the wild version and the farmed ones. There are attempts to make a more healthy way of producing farmed salmon, though. I think the industry already is feeling a pressure.
If everyone wants to eat salmon we have to farm it. They are disappearing in the wild due to dams and fishing. It has nothing to do with farming. If you're that concerned then don't eat salmon at all.
I’m from Germany and it gets me every time how much crap is allowed in food in the US. That company would need to shut down if the government would find out.
Sehr witzig! Was willst du dann essen?😅
Farmed Salmon is incredibly destructive to the environment around the fish farms and they have to add colouring to give it the pink colour. It is just bad - this is not a new story but the Govt does not want to talk about this because of the economic effect of the communities that work on the salmon farms.
@@arthurathanassiou3948 the problem is that there is not enough “clean” food for the everyone with the exponential population growth. How to solve this, will solve all other “save the planet” crisis.
Farmed Salmon is not banned in Australia! Australia (Tasmania) probably produces more farmed Salmon than Norway!...Just consume in moderation, don't just eat Salmon everyday and have a wide variety of protein sources. Even wild caught fish from our already polluted Oceans are not entirely free from chemicals. Furthermore with the 10+ billions of mouth to feed on this planet and if everybody on earth only want to eat Wild caught things, just how sustainable is that?...Lord forbid, we will eat mother earth out of house and home and drive everything edible to extinction! Some people are just toooooo idealistic.
@@NoLefTurnUnStoned. All for the pursuit of the almighty dollar. Many people cry about a few states that implement some regulations along the line for food safety. They will turn it around as being unnecessary interference from the government.
Farmed salmon is definitely not banned in Australia. We have many ocean farms in the harbours of Tasmania with brands such as Tassal, Huon and Petuna producing farmed salmon for the Australian domestic market. I purchase Imported wild caught Alaskan Salmon from my Local Costco store.
@@HoseTheBeast we do have but they are farmed not wild caught. I prefer not to eat farmed fish that are fed pellets instead of wild caught fish. Its alot more expensive but so be it
More than20 years ago there were big discussions in Canada regarding the farm salmon. Canada allowed Norwegian companies that were banned in Norway to start business on the West coast, raising Atlantic salmon. Not only salmon from another ocean was put in its unnatural environment, but also with all the other negatives already described in the video.
Grow my own, hunt and fish my own try to eat organic food as well but its not cheap in the UK, people will buy what they can afford at the end of the day, totally agree with what you say though. I feel lucky to be living in the EU, a lot of the garbage you speak about is banned in the UK and EU plus the animal welfare in the UK is far superior to some countries, I/ think if we are going to eat any animal it should have the best life possible before it's despatched for human consumption.

For people living in the US and those wanting to visit this is very informative. Also very sad that food has been so adulterated for profit and wealth. Australia is very blessed to have good quality food, but it means when the "bad" stuff slips in people don't check it out or notice.
I can tell with 100% certainty that Salmon farming is NOT banned here in Australia. In fact the southern state of Tasmania has an extensive salmon farming industry which supplies the whole country. I'm not sure about the damage it does to the environment and the quality of the fish it produces. I'm sure your points about farmed salmon are valid. I just know it is definitely not a banned product here. We also import a lot of farmed Smoked Salmon products from countries like Norway and Denmark. They are available in our supermarkets.
Yeah, that one caught my eye too. You can find plenty of those farming setups in Tasmania. I wish we could get wild salmon here, but I don't know where to find it (with confidence).
Correct Dan. The Tassie SALMON farms have caused considerable problems to the environment. There is a good recent documentary on ABC/SBS. We just moved from Canada and missing the wild salmon easily available through Costco.

Dr. Ekberg and Dr. Berg have been instrumental in changing my health. I was 205 pounds a year ago (5’10” age 39) and a bone marrow donor for my brother. Margarine is everywhere in Finland . I was in shock when started living here. The teacher of my son told him in school, to eat it daily instead of butter cause , butter comes from animals and margarine is plantbased ... People are absurd
Completely agree!

"If you don't buy it they won't make it" I loved that, that is how I think we should be thinking about our purchases
Thank You Miroslav Stoyanov. The behavior of individuals have always done more to change policies than government intervention. 😄
That could happen. However, there are so many slobs out there that don't care.

I’m from Japan(seafood crazy country)
and have one advice.
As you know They are born in freshwater river & comes back and hatch eggs &
die at river.
fresh water fishes has way more dangerous parasites witch can live in human body.(because we humans are same fresh water creatures)
Salmon is really difficult to farm without drugging them up
We eat salmon a lot but
we grill them mostly.
To farm salmon and make them possible to eat them raw means
you need to give them plenty amount of strong antibiotics , antiseptics for preserve it raw.
I’m no expert but those have been common sense for a long time.
I don’t want to be too strict,
So my advice is, you can eat few salmon sushi but just few, challenge other fishes. Don’t eat it often.
At least you should grill it.
there is literally no antibiotics in norwegian farmed salmon
