I had not heard of Glenny Helms and Alonzo Bailey before. Stories like this are why I fight for my civil rights in the workplace. I fight because my ancestors suffered, endured, and sacrificed for me to have these rights.

Has anyone ever wondered about why no white pastors were ever mentioned in these illegal acts of injustice, surely they were present during lynching’s which also has never been mentioned, I’m convinced the white pastors of this era were just as involved as everyone else, your thoughts.

My biggest question is how many of those laws still exist but have not been enforced in current times. They are still law until they are legally removed from existence. How do we remove ALLL OF THOSE LAWS before it's too late?

Do you have a Malungeon background? My Mom's side of the family is from Winston Salem North Carolina and they're mixed race Malungeon Appalachians (Irish-Scot settlers and West African lineage.). My Dad's side is Gullah Geechee. I associate more with the Gullah Geechee, because I'm the dark chocolate 🍫🍫🍫 in the family.

Mentally ill African Americans were also forced to build their own mental health hospitals and were often lent out to local farmers to work their land under the auspices that the work was “good” for their mental health. To learn more, read “Madness” by Antonia Hylton. It’s clear that any way that racist whites could get free labor out of blacks was not off limits.
