- It's always good to follow our grafting jobs through from start to finish. The video shows the steps involved in preparing, placing, securing, and sealing rind bark grafts onto apple stumps. We explain the processes involved and the reason the twin stem training system is used to develop the new cropping canopy and review the result 3 & 1/2 years on.

A master of his crafts
thanks! 🙌🏼
Watching this makes me nervous, it goes by so fast I can hardly understand what is going on. This man is a professional, and normal grafters will work at half the speed (or much less) shown here.
Hi, thanks for the feedback! We will try to improve and make some detailed videos in slower speed to show how to graft.
Wish he would slow down a bit, especially with the insertion into the stump. What’s that blue paint u use to seal the stump? Can you also use that wax?
Hi, thanks for the feedback. There is always something we can improve. We will try to make the next videos a bit slower.
We often get asked what the sealant products are that we show in our videos. The videos are shot mostly in New Zealand and so we use locally soured sealant materials.
The blue paints are either Garrison Rapid or PruneTec. These are available throughout NZ and Australia. Earlier videos show pink paint that changes to red when dry. It is Bacseal Super but is no longer available. These paints are commonly used for sealing grafts and pruning wounds. The applicator bottles are supplied by the vendor when purchasing the paint. And yes, you can use the wax for the tips as well.
Добрый день, расскажите подробней какой материал используется для фиксации черенка привоя. Я про момент в видео когда инструментом вкручивается шурупы в дерево.
Où trouver cet outil, sa commercialisation est-elle toujours assurée. Merci de répondre

Do you ever need to protect the scions when using this method or is the wax all you need?
A brad nail is used to initially secure the scions in place. The wax covers all exposed areas to prevent dehydration and stop rain from getting into the union. It does a good job of sealing the graft union.
@@SciononGraftingSystems thanks, what happens to the nail afterwards?

Hello, this tool is good for grafting Bounty71 rootstock ? It is a rootstock for kiwifruit,It is very thin ,about 4-5 mm. Thanks
Yes we have models available for preparing smaller scions and Bounty71 rootstocks. Model SGS4-12R is ideal for smaller diameters. We have videos of grafting Bounty71 using Scionon Grafting Shears on the channel.
