- The historic Sumpter Valley Railway is a three foot narrow gauge line that runs through the gold fields between Sumpter and McEwan Station in eastern Oregon. See a wood burning Heisler logging locomotive built in 1915 and 2-8-2 mikado number 19 pulling photo freights and passengers.
Watch how these amazing engines are steamed up!
This is a segment from our program "Northwest Heritage Railways" which is available on DVD, Hi-Definition Blu-ray and Digital Download by visiting 7ideaproductions.com. www.7ideaproductions.com/prod...
Wow both of these steam locomotive look very cool and especially #3. I have a long love for steam trains and this in no exception. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for posting. Hines, OR
Howdy, from Gilchrist Oregon~
Amazing video. Thanks to all involved! It is great to still be able to enjoy those magnificent steam locomotives. ❣️
Rode that train twice. I used to live two hours SE of Baker City near Ontario and Nyssa, Oregon.
Awesome little railroad and video. Well done.
SVRy #3 was at Cascade Idaho at the lumber mill. before that #3 was used in the Thunder Mountains on the narrow gauge timber line that Eccles built there above Cascade
Spectacular video from the commentary to the trains and scenery. We enjoyed watching.
I have never seen something so amazing. Those night shots are something else, Good work!
Really well produced video, nicely done!
Steam trains are a hit with the public even people who were born after the steam era. Strasburg Rail Road in PA gets many visitors annually. Durango and Silverton and Cumbres and Toltec are popular narrow gauge tourist railroads with spectacular scenery. And kids love steam trains. Even though today’s kids only know about steam trains through stories told by older people.
I love these videos of scenic railroads! If you do visit California soon or later, maybe visit the poway midland railroad. It’s a very small narrow gauge railroad that I work at that goes around a park in poway called the old poway park. Home to engine number 3!
Very kool 🚂😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Well done. I wonder what maintenance on the steam engines cost. Oh and then there is the cost of maintaining the railroad track/bead.
👍👍👍👍👍👍

Was this a third party charter or was it the normal photo train they run?
