The note durations, legato and staccato, of the bass is freaking perfect. Combined with the glissando and pitch bends, stutters, this is master level synth playing.

@@VaclavKosar Technically, Scritti Politti is extremely tight and has very complex sequencing and uses a lot of counter point structures, find 'Small talk' and give it a listen. Thomas Dolby is really great, 'Wind Power' being really a good song, and was his debut I think on TV back in the '80s. The Gap Band ' You Dropped The Bomb On Me' is fantastic bass synth playing. U.K. 'In The Dead Of Night' has great performances with the Yamaha CS80 being used to create the expansive synth space, and happens to have one of the best guitar solos ever recorded. Every thing from Gary Numan is worth a listen, as well as Kraftwerk, with 'Pocket Calculator' being the song that predated all electronic music in pop (they did it in the '70's!). 'The Ocean is the Ultimate Solution', which is a recording of Patrick O'Hearn auditioning for Frank Zappa, with Zappa on Guitar, O'Hearn on upright bass, and Terry Bozzio on drums. Fantastic. DEVO, the live version of 'The Girl U Want' on the television show 'Fridays' is stunning, I include the link because it is so perfect, and I love the fact EVERYTHING IS PLAYED BY HAND but sounds sequencer prefect. Siouxsie And The Banshees 'Spellbound' is an extremely important piece, change the music scene and started a cultural movement (in at least fashion) - I also include the link.

I could go on all day listing music I like. I was the drummer for Nina Hagen in the early '80s, I watched the greatest decade in music unfold as I giged around the world - I was CBGBs for a lot of the most famous gigs there. I feel blessed I got to live through that all.

@@2bussy Italian is used in music notation for expression marks, has be for quite a long time. Most trained (and not trained I would say) musicians understand the meaning of at least the most commonly used marks. Glissando means a rapid slide from one tone to another, like running you finger up a piano keyboard hitting all the keys to end on the target note. Staccato means short duration notes; a snare drum single hit is staccato. Legato means the notes are of long duration, usually blending into one another to some extent, no break between the notes.
I sure wish more people made covers of System Shock songs, but hey, at least we have this absolutely stellar one! SO GOOD!

This would work perfectly in the new remake of ss1. It's slower and more creepy feeling which suits the remake while still keeping the rhythm of the original
The 2023's remake's version of this was good, but a bit less pronounced. I would have liked to hear this beast in the game. Amazing job with this!

This track is a timeless banger. Even in the remake, it is the best and aside from the intro OST is the one I associate the most with System Shock
IMO, the Executive and Security tracks are the best from the _remake_ soundtrack specifically, but I believe this is the best from the original game's soundtrack

I miss that punch in the guts original SS1 music always give me, in the new SS1 remake. In the remake, up to now, music sound more like background music, no punch at all. Great job!

It chimes with the soul of the original; the Numam-ish pop synth inflections after the break are surprisingly delightful, I love that consummate lift and the way the NIN-style industrial funk crunches back in.
