I love how in Legenda of Runeterra, for Ryze to win the match with the world runes, he must be completely alone at the end
While i would love to belive that's the reason and not a thing that just happened by accident, they also made the shard of violence draw... So... Yeah i don't know how intentional that is but it cool anyways
@@CaioHenrique-or1ng Ryze needs to draw cards to try to get more world runes. That's why when you use his Realm Warp he draws cards but discards any that aren't a spell. I'm pretty sure making Ryze be alone was intentional.

I think Ryze was actually friends with Kayle's mother, since both of them were "working" during the rune wars. And since Kayle met her mother in the celestial realm, she probably heard stories about Ryze.

Like the sun and moon lesbians gained some knowledge about the old days of solari and lunari after they acended. (I'm pretty sure at least Diana gained something like this).

my only disappointment with rune shards is that we dont have a shard that mentions lissandra’s sacrifice like it was a pretty big event in runeterra’s history
That happend at the beginning of Runeterra. If he can go past in time that far, thats crazy. If he knew about the Watchers, he would try to help Lissandra keep them imprisoned and not just let her do awfull stuff to keep Runeterra safe.
He probobly knows. But it may not have beem the memory. I would put that as Betrayal. But betrayal has a more personal memory and thatay be stronger.

I like that Ryze doesnt have supporting cards, i am not a fan of how LoR gives followers to all champions and most of the time it does feel weird like with Gwen, Kaisa, Bard. If the champion can have allies then it makes sense, Darius, Garen, etc... but i prefer for "solo" champions to have related cards that tell a story and not firectly follow them, such as Jhin with his followers being actually victims of a planned performance or Annie with other students of the conservatory.
Yeah, sometimes the folowers are really creative and fitting but sometimes they feel odd or even took away from the champions they supposed to connect to, like in my opinion Eve really did't needed them or the entire point of Jayce caracter was that he is kinda unberabel but in all of his cards he is geting along with pepole. (I think his cards just made Jayce look kinda boring tbh.)
At least in Gwen and Kai'sa's followers they are not really followers. They are a group they found recently. In Kai'Sa's case its people she met that don't trust her and probably don't even survive the fall of Bel'veth.

Some of the followers seems to be individuals who aren't essentially followers of their champions but seperate groups
Gwen's followers are basically just creations of the Hallowed Mist, showing Gwen a memory of Isolde from the night she met Viego.
I like that Ryze is probably the only person in the whole world who can understand and somewhat forgive Viego. Could've been great to hear his thoughts out during the Ruination, and maybe even forge a potential redemption arc for the Ruined King.
But, for that to happen, you need to reason with Viego, and Viego is not capable of listening to any voice, arguments and reasoning other than his own.
The Ruined king to me is irredeemable. He did too many evil acts, ruined too many lives. He was too far gone.
there are many that tried to save Viego in the book and he still went on and did what he wanted, what happened was deserved and I do not feel that i deserves redemption tbh.
Would love to know however what would had happened to him if his queen was still alive.

+ it had many open spots/questions as to what some characters will be doing or were doing etc. Hopefully we get a second book at some point.
Fun fact, Shaco is actually in every cinematic and lore changing events, he's just invisible. Trust me this is 100% fact checked

The day Shaco gets into LOR, the world will rumble. Either they make a really good lore explaining his origins and story, or they put him with 2/3 cards and call it a day, dooming shaco to never being known.
As a expansion pack, i feel he should come with fiddlesticks and neeko, and they would introduce a clon mechanic

Whoever voiced lor ryze put their heart into that, the emotion he conveyed were so real
Absolutely incredible performance. In league, Ryze comes across as a goofy lanky character exclusively played by people who will ult the entire team into the enemy fountain. But here he seems like such a badass and powerful hero with a unique challenge only he can overcome.

It is good, but when you actually play the game it’s kind of ruined by him spamming voicelines so often that they sometimes overlap each other
Kayle's lore reveals that Mihira was chosen as the Aspect of Justice during the Rune Wars. Most likely Ryze and Kayle became acquainted with each other during this period, especially with Ryze hiding the World Runes beneath Demacia.
Oh my god that makes a lot of sense. Maybe, before mihira "retired", Kayle and Ryze searched for the world runes together?
My headcanon for Ryze and Kayle being friends is that they’re both some of the original champions from 2009, I could be wrong but it would be nice little throwback
In the original and the very 1st LoL cinematic trailer in a 5v5 match, Kayle was about to be beat by Nasus only to saved by Ryze, and then Ryze gave Kayle her helmet back and then face Nasus team. In other words their interaction in LoR is a reference to the old cinematics.
i really loved the fact that even ryze who is as powerful and wise ... cant judge viego actions.... he did fk up things and some really really bad mistakes.... but like he said who can judged a broken man with good intentions

Maybe Ryze met Kayle some time before she ascended and worked with her occasionally, or Kayle, while searching for her mother in the celestial realm, occasionally had to come down to Runeterra for something and worked with Ryze during those times. I'm just throwing ideas.
Ryze has quickly become my favorite character. It’s so cool that he still sees so much value in Runeterra despite knowing the most about its horrors.

I think his sudden hesitation and the question "should he?" is pertaining to him wondering if humanity is really worth saving or should be better off dead because of the constant threat they're causing in Runterra.

Man I really hope after season 2 of Arcane, the next 2 seasons are about Ryze. There's so much potential in his story, and they said that Arcane is going to cover other Runeterran stories, 2 seasons at a time.

Maybe I'm wrong but I find that implication that you playing the world rune cards in game is Ryze isn't ryze using them to fight but instead using them reflecting on humanity and whether or not he should help or not very interesting. So before he levels up he's doubtful and pessimistic but after level up he makes his decision to forgive the flaws of runterra and sound more determined. So rather than getting more powerful (in a narrative sense) over the course of the game , he's just making up his mind and once he does the game is won. Which sorta implies how powerful ryze is or maybe it's just a metaphor.
I Just don't understand why Aatrox's appearance is like that in Ryze's vision. This demonic appearance is what he looks like when he tries to mimic the Divine appearance he used to have before being trapped

These visions are not really those moments. Viego in this card stays alone with Isolde's corpse, but in real there was Thresh and it was happened underground.
Riot really is saying "Icathia" instead of "Icathia". Breaks my long-time Necrit fan heart.
The more I read about Viego the more I am convinced that the love he always talks about, was loving the idea of him and Isolde together. In a way his love did bring all this but it was the narcisistic love he had for what other people represented to him. I liked the book a lot.
In the book it was explained in Isolde's diary. He loved her deeply, as writters and others (fck Gwen) says, but in time he started treated her like a divine being. I think it's because of his child traumas so his obsession becomes understandable.

Being a bad person doesn't make him a bad character in this case quite the oposite is the interesting thing about Viego.
Man how i wish shaco to be added in LoR so he can have a proper lore
I really hope they do something with Ryze's story. I remember back in the day, he seemed like such an awesome character. Roaming the world, secretly keeping the end of the world at bay by stashing away the world runes. But now with the void, the darkiin, celestial dragons, Mordekaiser (genuinely one of the biggest threats to Runeterra, for those who don't know), the greater demons, and so much more, he just sounded like an idiot for a while. He has so many quotes where he's like "If only they knew the danger the world is in" and what such, but here he is focusing on the world runes, while all these extradimensional threats from every which direction? Newer stories have at least shown us that he's aware of these other existential issues, but they only makes it weirder that he's so concerned about the world runes. I mean, The Rune Wars just seem so inconsequential compared to all the other shit that's happening. Idk I just hope they can once again make him feel like a wise old mage who is so powerful that he can just about keep the world from dying, but even then it's only just barely and with great cost to his own life.
probably cuz it's easier for ryze to do so than trying to take on all those extradimensional threats on his own.
said threats although are world threatening, usually some force of runeterra would try to stop em like kayle's celestials on the new darkin war, and if that wasn't enough, at least him joining the fray later would ward them off.
leaving some world rune unattended could lead to even more hectic problems in the already problematic runeterra, since many a times did some power-hungry idiot would use the runes for themselves, leading to in-fightings and conflict among runeterrans.
runeterra would be even more vulnerable to said outer threats in these times, and this all coulda be prevented simply with ryze stashing them away, one less problem absolved.
and with ryze being ryze, retrieving the world runes would be a piece of cake compared to actively trying to stop the many threats here, more value for less an effort(for ryze)
Slight spoiler for the Ruination book, so proceed at your own discretion:
The Ruination was the result of ONE World Rune getting into contact with Viego and Sanctity. What happened during the rune wars was very likely just a fraction of the world rune powers unleashed. On that note, it's also my headcanon that this shattered world rune Ryze is employing here is the one that was stored at the Blessed Isles prior to the Ruination. Would be cool if it had actually shattered upon Viego getting impaled onto it. (The book does mention the rune going dark)

I love how his unleveled version is questioning, asking "why" and "is it worth it?" Then when he levels up he understands, sees the humanity in each mistake and strives to work to make it better.

It's a damn shame because Shaco looks really freaking cool if only Riot would just do something with him. Like Jinx is like the harley quinn of Leauge of Legends they can make Shaco a demon version of The Joker or something else. If only Riot would just give shaco a chance and do something with him.
About the cinematic at the beginning of the season....
The answer to the interaction with Kayle was mentioned in the previous video too. It is a reference to an old LoL cinematic where ryze saves kayle from morgana and nasus

kayle and ryze may have met after the rune war during the founding of demacia since under demacia is were ryze stores the world runes.

I think the order of you reading the cards might have been off. At least with Ryze and Delve. I think the order of reading is Ryze Level 1 > Delve > Ryze Level 2.
Since I think the "Should he?" In delve is him asking if he should save Runeterra, of which after looking into the past a few times (and playing three World Runes), he decides that even though they may be stupid, he should save them. Answering his question in Delve.
I do have to wonder. Its obvious that the world runes would be enough to kill aatrox, even with how powerful he is. But would it be enough to destroy his sword? Supposedly the force of a thousand dead suns is keeping him in there. If they could then it makes me wonder if he at some point tried to get ryze to do that for him.
How much i would love too se a Ryze rework which actually centers the theme of him connected to the world runes, perhaps he could be able to find them or buy them and then he would get some sort o new ability or something; at the moment he is just some random mage who runs really fast.
My theory is that Ryze spent some time in young Damacia while Kayle and Morgana still openly resided there (before their falling out), where Kayle and him presumably became friends

the friendship between kayle and ryze might also be a nod from the original Welcome to League of Legends trailer (ryze was in kayle's side/team). yes, its an old media and not canon but its interesting to see them being friends in the canon universe now
I don't expect anything from Shaco's lore. I think Riot will just add some few information, but that's it. I like the fact that Shaco's the most mysterious thing in League of Legends.

My idea of the world runes is that they aren't LITERALLY a corruptive and manipulative force. It's just that people no matter how pure their intentions end up abusing the power and becoming evil due to absolute power getting to their heads
Even the kindest ruler may turn tyrant if he believes it is the right thing e.g. protect my people from these enemies can turn into kill these people before they can threaten my people
Necrit I have a question which is an important one.
Why Ryze skin is blue when he is young in the shard of betrayal? Didn't his Bio mention that he was turned that color because of the magic he sustained through out the years searching for runes and so on. but yet he is blue even when he is young before the moment he takes the lead of the runes after killing Tyrus. does that mean they retconned the lore by the ruination book? Because there is a skin in the game called young Ryze and he is not blue.
Ryze is my favorite champion. His humility, capacity for forgiveness, and vision of the greater good is incredibly inspiring.

I feel like the shard of madness can't be from the first darkin war, but has to be from the current one starting in the new darkin cards (even though its just a what if scenario) since it looks like in this vision the darkin are already fused with their weapons, which happens after the darkin war, right? i mean, you can see the "heart" part in aatrox weapon
The Darkin primarily look the way they do due to blood magic contorting and changing their bodies
And what about forgetting champions that are played by the 0.1% players and reworking ahri and syndra? Ppl mentality today is "of course they dont get reworked, they dont make money", thats such a delusional way to think, cho'gath and malphite are literally god of war 2 models and their kit dont make sense with the character nor are slightly fun, cant hope in a non human character cause if its an alien then she will be woman-shaped-like monster so they can sexualize it and give her skins that sells... they dont need money at all guys, they have plenty, but for some reason they must grind the shit out of the game cause it has to go in the wrong direction. Please necrit, do anything about it, I know you can just talk about it but this needs to get seen, it shows 0 respect towards the game and the players that would like to see some love for their characters. It's like having dinner with ur family and ur mother gives the meal only to your brother and you cant do anything. Did Kayle ask the help of RYZE because he have the runes and shit? If not then his quite reliable and powerful, I seriously think ryze is ain't that powerful but he is definitely reliable.

After all you have taught me?" He is talking like he himself was the betrayer. Like he wanted the stones but his master tried to stop him. Man this guy needs buffs (or better yet another re-work). Feels so weak compared to other mids right now. Literally only play him if I feel like it, never to win.
I hope riots MMO would be small upon its release and as the time goes by, they add expansions instead of releasing it big. Leagues world is so big that you can easily be disappointed if things werent right. Like the dragon nest before, they started small maxing people at Lv 24 and then 40 and then 60 and so on while expanding its world and riot should do better.
Hm, so, how much of this Runeterra Lore do you think could actually take place in the Main Universe?

fixing shaco should be so easy rigth now, just give him the same origin than gwen but the oposite - he is filled by black mist instead of hallow mist -hence he is evil - probably respect/obey viego the same way gwen respect Isolde. maybe he is the one who will find viego and try to free him again, in a atemp to gain is love ( i just make a headcanon that if gwen was a beloved doll, maybe shaco was a unloved one, so he is trying very hard to viego to love him like a child searchin aproval from a father figure)
im a little annoyed that this expansion kinda gave Kayle a redemption arc. It feels weird that for a character who will "murder you for j walking" she was able to make friends and even acknowledge that people are her equal especially when we never got to se the Morgana Kayle story resolve it feels like we skipped it.
Can we stop pretending that Viego's story was about Love? It was obsession born out of madness. It was toxic and dangerous, and literally threatened the entire world. He was not and has never been a good guy or even a tragic character.

I think they could go harder with the, "Shaco has no lore thing" Erase every mention shaco has had in the lore. Make it so it's like he doesn't exist, yet he is in the game. Shaco is not a creature that belongs to this universe. He see's that he is inside a game. He is not bothered by what happens around him but looks out to us. Trying to grab our attention, showing us he knows we are there. Shaco should not exist yet we can't deny that he is there. Atleast that's how I think they should do his story.
I love the Christmas PJ's, especially during this time. And I find it funny that some of the Christmas trees are "see-through" 😆
