The analogy between horn players, singers, and phrasing on guitar is spot on! If you've just caressed our ears with a beautiful line, then the pause just adds a sense of anticipation for what's to come next. While I appreciate the skill involved in 'shredding', listening to you phrase a solo is like listening to an engaging conversation, or even poetry. It feels like I'm being communicated with, rather than being talked down to.
The only kind of pause I don't enjoy is the pause between your RUclips posts, but believe me when I say I'm eternally grateful when you find time to post a new lesson. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us! Stay well and have a great week! Still the BEST!!!
You have such a peaceful way of playing and explaning: just listening to you makes all stress melt away. The breathing (of singers and horn players) was the icing on the cake in this lesson: what a beautiful concept to use on any instrument!
This look at phrasing must be the best example on RUclips, ever. Jack has a way of illustrating this concept in a way that just makes perfect sense. Thanks.
Jack, just awesome advice. Sit in the pocket, let the groove move you, and don't get in a hurry. Vary the dynamics and throw in an unexpected note or tone every now and then. The nine minutes and 44 seconds I just spent with you have already dramatically improved my playing. Thank you.
Your dynamics are blissful - as well as your phrasing of course!
Spot on! Dynamics are often overlooked
Wow this such peaceful, clear guidance, thank you! The information comes with great examples and it doesn't clutter my brains with too much info. I feel like playing....
Thanks Jack the journey continues!
Absolutely beautiful phrasing! Jack, you have the patent on phrasing!😊
Such a great lesson from an awesome player, thanks so much Jack!
So simple and tasteful. Great lesson
Excellent tutorial, spaces gives more time to think and not rush the solo.
Thank you for this. As a beginner, usually it is difficult to find lessons at my level that are useful, but this hits the spot very nicely.
Thanks Jack 👍
This is gold. Thanks jack
I love you Jack, you are awesome and thanks for your content your really starting to elevate my playing
Thanks Jack. Always enjoy your videos. Very helpful.
Glad you like them!
Great lesson Jack. Every time I pick-up my guitar after watching one of your lessons I play much more tastefully. Unfortunately it doesn’t last though! 😂. Thanks.
Love your content! After years of being stuck on guitar, your vids have helped me level up. Thank you Jack 🙏🏽
Fantastic lesson, as always, Jack! Thank you. 🙏🏽
Thanks again!
I really enjoyed this lesson. Thanks! I noticed you were sneaking in some of those minmaj7 lines you showed us earlier for the Lydian Dominant and Altered sounds. Thanks for that!
Good Morning Jack! Smooth, Space Phrasing, Man! Great Stuff! Breathe On! 👍🎸✌️😎
Great lesson, Jack. I'm a relatively new subscriber (you can thank GT for me being here), and I'm learning so much from your fantastic teaching style. I have noticed on some of your newer videos (like this one) that the depth of field of the camera lens, or the Bokeh is a bit strong, and the fretboard isn't as in focus all over the neck as it could be (as it was in older videos). I know I shouldn't be saying this kind of thing for free content, but I just wanted you to know and to be the absolute best you can be. You are awesome, Jack, and the best content I've come across in many, many months. Thank you.
Thanks a lot Jack...nicely done!
Great info Jack! Thank you 🤘
Smooth Jack . I have slowed down and become so much better watching you play. I phrase slower and better.
I would love to see a breakdown of how to develop that absolutely dreamy vibrato you have. 😊
Pretty darn tasty. Great tutorial. Thank you.
A thousand thumbs up.
Hi Jack!!! Such a long time looking for this kind of lesson helping me to structure my solos. Such a nice introduction to these concepts! I wish you do more of these! I think lot's of us know our pentatonic...but -in my case- i was stuck in the "road map" to give sense to what i play....(do not know if you understand what i mean! ^^ )
Anyway...thank's so much for the lesson and your time you give us all!
Tasty playing my friend 💯😏
Jack rush are the Master !
Nice video. How about a lesson on how to build the entire solo start to finish. Let’s say you go around 3 or 4 times how should it start and what can you do to make it climax
Nice... is there a back track so we can practice this? thx
Yes on my Patreon page
Tasty stuff 👍🏼
Any good exercises on how to practice hitting chord tones on strong parts of the beats?
1. Play backing track 2. Start with only chord tones (1, 3 or 5) on the strong part of the beats (one per bar) 3. Slowly add other notes in between
Do not move on to #3 until you are comfortable with #2. I hope this helps.
Wondering where can I get the jam track so I can practice this? Really liking the jam track!
Thanks always good to win something but I’m unclear on how to claim this… Let me know… thanks!
🔥
:)
Hey Jack and followers, watch out, someone is trying to comment in your name trying to get money, he is not Jack!
Lovely stuff Jack... again !
Thanks again!
Anyone see a video how to switch to left handed?
You could have a double-necked guitar, with one neck going left, and the other going right.
I knew a guy who used to string his guitars upside down. It was floating bridge stuff.
Not sure what you're asking exactly, though
@@GizzyDillespee my left hand index finger tip was reattached in a 83 car accident...now my left pinky nuckle is dislocating n swollen
@@holysmoke8439 oh, I see... you want to retrain to reverse hands! I knew an ambidextrous player, and I remember badgering him how he learned, and he was proud, showing it off, but basically just shrugged. Not like I was going to learn, anyway. I can't help there. Django might be my favorite player of all time, and he had use of 2 fingers and a thumb on his fretting hand. I wish I could be a better help - sorry to hear about that, and good luck.
@@GizzyDillespee yes I've played with the fingertip for decades but do you the underside stiches there is n exposed nerve so no barring . But this new pinky thing im not sure I could fix
I saw a video from justinguitar where he said he was teaching himself to play left handed too. Not sure if he ever went real in-depth with it though.
Brilliant lesson as always. Thanks Jack!
