New York City Ballet principal dancer Maria Kowroski, 40, has been with the company for 22 years. Getting back to work after she had her son, Dylan, at 38, was the hardest thing she's ever done. "I had a vision of when I was supposed to return to the stage," says Kowroski. "My body had a different vision."
Practicing a serious self-care routine helped the dancer get back on her feet. That meant developing a skincare routine focused on anti-aging products that give her a youthful glow and reverse the damage caused by years of heavy stage makeup. Wow--admire her so much! It is SO hard to take off the time to have a baby--but she's done it! She looks amazing, she is a beautiful dancer, and she has the experience to give her interpretations so much heart, so much meaning. I am so in awe.

She does look slightly more mature than an average 40 year old lady I have to say. I think having to stay so slim probably takes its toll as your face does not have enough fat to support it. The sacrifice you make for the art.

I wouldn't call that a "sacrifice". You're going to look like that sooner or later, and no amount of skincare products, makeup or surgery will be able to disguise your true age. She's doing something worthwhile with her life rather that worrying about whether her career is going to make the inevitable happen slightly earlier. And she looks gorgeous to me.

Wow her line is just so crisp and neat. The physique is also elongated and thin, it fits ballet perfectly. Her movement and expression is really something that of a master's. Can't get enough!

Actually they retire at 40-45 but some dancers managed to dance untill 50 years old but very few, the average retirement age for a ballet dancer is at 42

She looks much older than 40, which is common for very lean and thin women who haven’t gotten much work done to counteract it. But she’s lovely and a wonderful ballerina.
She honestly looks to be about 53 or so, but we do not know her story, what she eats, how little sleep she gets. She does have great looking skin, clean, healthy. It could be having the baby aged her, dark circles etc. Babies do age us.
