It was originally arranged as "Just A Liar" for Miyako's former band "A Drop Of Joker" and rearranged for LOVEBITES on their first album. I miss it a bit, here in a performance in March 2023, it starts with Asami singing a cappella, which is nice as well... Even "Scream For Me" has melodies from A Drop Of Jokers' "Secret Square". Miyako is an exceptional songwriter and it's crazy that some people try to claim Lovebites is an Idol band with ghostwriters, or try to credit Miyako's early work to Sena, who was never more than a support guitarist. For me, Miyako is the closest thing to Prince when it comes to mastery of instruments and songwriting in pop(ular) music. Just my personal opinion.

This song has definitely proved the strongest and fastest all-female band of Love Bites. It's a threat to the members' all-round technique and sense. I'm going to do a live concert overseas from now on, but I'm just looking forward to it.
Japan has a lot of incredibly-skilled lady drummers. Haruna of LOVEBITES, Akane Hirose of BAND-MAID, Chiiko of D_Drive, Yuri and Hanna of Gacharic Spin, Tamu Murata of Nemophila, Mipow of Paranoid Void, and Nao of Maximum the Hormone are all killer drummers I would gladly play alongside and probably not be able to keep up with. Love this band, love this song.
definetely you can add MIZUKI here, who plays like a mix between haruna and tamu. and I really recommend the song "Evolve" from her new supergroup/project "East of Eden". other members are violinist Ayasa, Yuki from D-Drive, lefty bassplayer wakazaemon, who was recentliy on US tour with the marty friedman band, and amazing singer akane. evolve for me is already song of the year in J-metal. don´t miss.
On October 5, 2023 I went to a special concert of lovebites at ZEPP Yokohama! It was about 2 hours long concert. Concert tickets are around US$60. Drinks are an additional 600 JPN yen (Alcohol was also available). It was a great concert and the acoustics were loud (lol)! I was amazed not only by the great music and performances, but also by how beautiful everyone was! LOVEBITES' live performances are of high quality, almost immediately ready for release as live album on DVD/Blu-ray. Sad for the few OMVs, that are usually of very high quality as well (Don't Bite The Dust, Shadowmaker, Rising, Winds Of Transylvania (VLADLOVE version), When Destinies Align, Glory To The World, Golden Destination, Nameless Warrior, Judgement Day, Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down), have I forgotten any OMV?). General rule: live is better!
IMHO, for LOVEBITES, live recordings are my preferred, because: 1) Whoever is doing the production work on their live recordings are fantastic: great use of multiple viewpoints and switching between members, generally high resolution, usually very good mix of sounds (although, I would have preferred a little more bass in the earlier shows, the last one from 2023 is really on point), 2) This group has an amazing stage presence and sometimes I feel that they perform better in front of an audience. (I love watching Asami and Midori!, and now Fami too!) 3) I feel that sometimes the video "story" in their MVs are distracting. I really do not like watching reactors to their MVs who spend time trying to figure out what the video story is about instead of focusing on the band (especially "Glory To The World"... who cares about that guy 😛). I'd rather spend the entire video just watching these lovely ladies!

Such an awesome band, not a single bad song on their entire discography, just love the shit out of them, more, more, more... I also have to add that I totally agree with your Dimebag comment, Pantera will remain a staple in my metal diet, pretty hard to compete with a Dimebag solo, but you really only see guitar solos, or instrumentals for that matter in most rock bands these days, thank god for metal bands...
Are they, or are they not absolutely magnificent? They are genetically incapable of mediocrity. The image they have is sheer elegance. A rule of thumb for LOVEBITES is that you can rely on concert footage recorded for their official releases to crush it every time. But at the same time, from day one, they’ve always had very well made MV’s which are very well produced but don’t detract from the fact that they are a band playing instruments…. You will always be lectured by someone whichever you choose, but diehard fans tend to be very respectful. Very good reaction, very observant and attentive to detail…a refreshing change..🙂

Hi Sky! Yeah, these gals definitely have a classic power metal/speed metal style, from everything I've heard from them. Could compare their style and energy to bands like Blind Guardian, and some post 2000 Symphony X- powerful singer with a high range, blistering guitar solos, non stop drums. Another awesome power metal band with a female singer is Unleash the Archers. A song with some fire drums is "Kiss of Fire" by Symphony X. Also try "Awakening" by Unleash the Archers, I bet you'll dig these.

I really do not like watching reactors to their MVs who spend time trying to figure out what the video story is about instead of focusing on the band (especially "Glory To The World"... who cares about that guy 😛). Such an awesome band, not a single bad song on their entire discography, just love the shit out of them, more, more, more... I also have to add that I totally agree with your Dimebag comment, Pantera will remain a staple in my metal diet, pretty hard to compete with a Dimebag solo, but you really only see guitar solos, or instrumentals for that matter in most rock bands these days, thank god for metal bands...

Are they, or are they not absolutely magnificent? They are genetically incapable of mediocrity. The image they have is sheer elegance. A rule of thumb for LOVEBITES is that you can rely on concert footage recorded for their official releases to crush it every time. But at the same time, from day one, they’ve always had very well made MV’s which are very well produced but don’t detract from the fact that they are a band playing instruments…. You will always be lectured by someone whichever you choose, but diehard fans tend to be very respectful. Very good reaction, very observant and attentive to detail…a refreshing change..🙂

Hi Sky! Yeah, these gals definitely have a classic power metal/speed metal style, from everything I've heard from them. Could compare their style and energy to bands like Blind Guardian, and some post 2000 Symphony X- powerful singer with a high range, blistering guitar solos, non stop drums. Another awesome power metal band with a female singer is Unleash the Archers. A song with some fire drums is "Kiss of Fire" by Symphony X. Also try "Awakening" by Unleash the Archers, I bet you'll dig these.

I love Lovebites, all their songs! I listen to this band every day! Lovebites is one of the best Metal/Rock bands in the world! And this band has 5 albums and many amazing songs! Masterpieces! Lovebites deservedly won the award for the best new band in the Metal/Rock genre in 2018! But in my country this band is uninteresting! Why? Because Lovebites is an all-female band in the Metal/Rock genre from Japan! In our country, Japan is considered the "second league" when it comes to the Metal/Rock genre! I do not agree with this opinion! And I promote and support this band on my FB! I have the entire discography from this band! I miss one DVD from this band! DVD called Awake Again! This DVD is too expensive! To me your words are just a false pose! But I understand that reaction videos can help earn money!
