I know it’s not in my head but my doctor gaslighting me making me feel like it’s in my head makes my doubt myself and question my symptoms I’ve been reporting to her How do I get her to send me to a specialist or run better blood work to see why my body joints fingers feet ankles swell and are causing me pain that wake me up at night if I don’t take ibuprofen before I go to bed. In morning I can’t even get up right away it hurts to bad to move and she minimizing my symptoms to planters fasciitis doesn’t explain my hand and finders my shoulder and arms or my knee pain and my daily headaches as well as the fatigue that’s effecting my quality of life so fare I’ve pushing myself to work through this miserable place I’ve been experiencing since 4/1/22 I feel like I’m going crazy

Thank you for this, Dr Ortiz, and hello from the UK. I myself have RA, but I’m going to share this with a friend who has fibromyalgia. I’m sure she’ll find it useful.

Interested in PMR. Have had it for three years now and am having a problem with pain at this moment. Do not want to increase steroids again.
Thanks - happy to see you “pop up” these days

Do you know why chiropractic adjustments take away fibromyalgia pain -!: fatigue at least for some time?

It's an interesting question. I suspect it is related to the fact that for some fibromyalgia patients, the main driver of their pain is mechanical. The changes to the nervous system I describe in the video seems to certainly be at play for many, but not for all. Many different types of patients with pain due to different issues all get lumped together under the umbrella of "fibromyalgia" because we aren't smart enough yet to accurately distinguish them. There is still a lot we don't know. If someone has found a trusted chiropractic provider that provides relief, great! Thanks for the Q!

I'm 35 years old, and for over 20 years I've been suffering from chronic pain due to post-axial polydactyly, it's a rare condition where you have an extra digit. In my case, I have an extra digit on my right hand. Currently, I use biofreeze to help alleviate the pain. If you have any other suggestions I'm all ears. Thank you for your time.

I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling for so long! My first thoughts are, there may be some room for you and your doc to better understand where the pain is coming from? Is it mechanical (aggravated when moving the hand/digits a certain way)? Is it nerve pain? Or due to a vascular issue? Once you have a better idea of what kind of pain it is, you can then have a clearer idea of how to approach it. Pain specialists may even be able to perform injections around problematic joints or even nerve blocks. If you haven't seen your doc, an orthopedist or even a pain specialist for this issue in a while (which often happens when we have been dealing with something for, what seems like, forever) it may be worthwhile returning to them to try to tease out where the pain is coming from and then how to deal with it! Hang in there and hope this helps!

@@ConnectedRheumatology It's nerve pain. it vacillates between numbness and nerve pain in my right hand. Sometimes my fingers shake uncontrollably but not all the time. Since I don't have health insurance I use Biofreeze. I do currently have Medicaid at the moment. Thank you for taking the time to respond.
