Just when I think I've seen everything on the guitar, there is your channel!! You own that axe. Crazy skills brother!!! Shout out to Rick for putting you out there for the rest of us to see and hear. Cheers 🤘🏻
My word Sir. Majestic portions of Epicness....but know this, if Pete Lesperance doesn't make this new series of yours after all the beer I drunk whilst you were showing me how to play it, then I'll just cry 😢 Awesome start to your new channel 😎
I saw the most recent Extreme tour and I have to say I was absolutely floored by Nuno’s playing, stage presence, and all around awesomeness. The guy is nearly in his 60s and playing like he’s still in his 20s. Ed will always be the King but his reign only lasted a decade (if we’re being generous). Nuno’s playing is right there with Ed’s in his prime (but of course borrows a lot from Ed). But given his longevity I have to give the nod to Nuno as the greatest rock guitarist of all time.
Fantastic, man! Your playing is unapologetic and raw. You and Nuno are cut from the same cloth. Love the commentary on playing influences for Nuno, Eddie, Allan, and Lane.
Hey bro, thanks for the video. I’m in a similar situation. I started playing at 12 & for the next 20 years that’s ALL I did. Then life happened & didn’t play much for 10-12 years. Then at 45, I had the money and time to start playing seriously again. I’ve been obsessed again, just like when I was a teenager. Feels amazing, and I’m playing better than ever. This is very inspiring, time to throw my hat in the ring again. Much appreciated, keep up the good work
It is an absolute joy to watch you enjoying this instrument so much. I love guitar too more than almost everything else. It's just awesome. And your playing really rocks. Keep going. Your content is great.
Fantastic breakdown. 'I'm sure you'll all know'... Nope, not me. Still loving your work! You're blowing away every guitarist I'm sharing your content with, next level stuff.
Hi Ben, I'm new to your channel but I have to say I think youve got the aesthetic perfect! The lighting and colour hue. It's classy! Great playing man looking forward to seeing more!
I'm glad I waited to comment until after you mentioned Beat It because that's exactly what I was going to reference. That lick Eddie plays is so insane and I love how you end up playing a higher note on the B string than the note you sort of anchor with on the high E, like you're talking about.
Yes! I've never quite managed to master any nuno stuff but he was my FIRST favourite guitarist. My first shred hero, before I discovered malmsteen and Gilbert etc. I knew all 3 of those songs where he used this techniqe to create that effect. I know the goosebumps well. Great video! Thanks! I'd love to hear you thoughts on 'here today' solo.
I love how you made a shawn lane reference. He's hands down the greatest guitarist to ever live in my opinion and no one can come close to his speed and accuracy. The things he did with his right hand did not even seem real.
Brilliant stuff, Ben! “3 sides to every story” is one of my favourite albums ever. It will always be a mystery to me why it was not more widely acclaimed.
This man is absolute BEAST!🎸🔥🐺 All that leaders of «Top-100 greatest guitar player’s rating bla bla» are completely off the board when you wish to see how really to play guitar properly. Face the reality, folks!🤘
Mate, The reason many top greatest are there and not others is bacause they put an substantial imput into guitar playing created someting timeless before anybody else could even think of it. If you measure a great guitar player by its's accuracy on fretboard and speed that is poor thinking I am afraid. There is few thousands fast shredders on you tube, some of them play in bands, but this never will overtake a good song writing skill. So , yeah, Ben plays really good and hats off but be real using such comparisons as you did
@@dariuszsmoczkiewicz9301 Don’t get me wrong, I’m talking about guitar playing skills only, not about songs, lyrics, genres, etc, pal. For example, I like Slash's melodic solo in November Rain, but I would never want his guitar skills. Let's be honest, he can't play a single note properly, that's a fact. When it comes to performing skills on a musical instrument (be it a piano or a violin or something else), you need to look up to people like Ben. You need to treat music with respect. If the musical task is to play the note A, then you need to play this note with a proper timing, cleanly, without dirty noise, buzzing, over-pushing, etc. And don't tell me about the thousands of shredders on RUclips, my friend✌️ There are very few people who are really good at guitar, about 5% of the entire human population. The rest, roughly speaking, just scrape the strings with a pick, without any attack, intonation, or timing. Sorry, but this is the harsh reality) Take off your rose-colored glasses and develop your ear 🙌

This is mind-blowing! Nuno is def one of the best and is my favourite. BTW are you planning to do any technical lessons/tips series? It would be awesome to get your coverage of some topics. E.g. my pain point is right hand technique when shredding in alternate picking (vs economy picking), so that you're not touching unnecessary strings when jumping between them.
Do you have any tips for being able to increase finger dexterity? I can only manage one full repetition of the muted hammer-on part of the solo in Rise before my hand starts to cramp up. Same with a lot of Nuno solos. How does he play that fast for that long?
Awesome, what gear did you used for all this new videos ? Amp or modelers, cabs, pickups, strings ? I'm aware of the fact that this tone comes mostly from your hands but I would like to know your gear regardless. Thanks
What I don't understand is ZHOW did you slow down these licks enough to be able to learn them? I'm 61x I can't hear EACH note when their shredding, & I never understood how Paul Gilbert & others could work out Yngwie Jason Becker & other speed demons, are their tricks/techniques to practice/repeat??
You’re awesome man! Amazing playing 😊what made you stop playing for the last 12 years? I took a break for a few years but am back into it now (I’m 31 now) great stuff anyway!
You cannot be human! How the hell can you play like that… it’s so insanely fast but technically strong … You are actually a cyborg aren’t you? 😂 Hoping your evil cyborg skills will rub off on me😎 I’m working on getting my legato down but you take it to such a ridiculously awesome level. Keep it up… love the playing it’s super inspiring.
On fire dude! This was great 🙌
Absolutely amazing … real guitar playing … no editing no digital bullshit … 100% on fire …
I appreciate your tons of hours, extreme discipline to become magnificent. Your an inspiration to many!
Whooee! Super playing and the fact that one can hear both the amp sound and the real pick vs string sound makes it so spicy & tasty!
You're on fire man!! I'm surprised that guitar hasn't disintegrated in your hands. Thanks for the content!!
Just when I think I've seen everything on the guitar, there is your channel!! You own that axe. Crazy skills brother!!! Shout out to Rick for putting you out there for the rest of us to see and hear. Cheers 🤘🏻
Fantastic playing. Stunning picking
Telecaster is screaming in your hands!!! Absolutely love it!!! Straight punch and power!!!
Incredible video, playing and analysis mate! I loved this. Nuno deserves more recognition! 🤘🏻He's in my top three alongside George Lynch and EVH

There's so much to learn from you just improvising.
Your wrist is on FIRE!!!!
Fantastic playing. Love the guitar and really did your tone. Just subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your content.

Keep going. Your content is great.
it's so clear how you explain the why, the what and then show the how - no need for tab even. love it

Thank you 🙏
That Tele is a happy camper now!💯🎸😎
There is only one metric of time: life before Get The Funk Out solo, and life after.
Ben is wailing and shreding on a telecaster!!!! ❤❤❤😂😂😂 It has a humbucking pick up!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!!! ❤❤🎉🎉🎉😂🎉😂😊
It’s great hearing insights about these guitarists playing style, especially from someone who has studied and plays their styles so well 👏👏👍🙌
you won the internet today with this one mate!

Great playing man, Nuno is my biggest influence as a player
After watching this I'm simultaneously thinking about practicing more and quitting the guitar
🤣
We can really feel how en forme you are. You play like you can access your peak playing at will.
Its fckn crazy! Wicked playinggg
great video ! greetings from small Luxemburg
I love it, from the Rock and Roll soul.
When great ability is combined with great musicality, you get Ben Travers
Jeeez.....Awesome playing!!
Wowzers, my jaw still hurts from when it dropped!
A pleasure to watch mate
You're a fuckin nutcase on that guitar . Wasn't expecting the absolute ferocity in your playing. Instant sub mate.
You freakin’ killed it Ben.
Inspiring! Awesome played.:)
Well done mate! Nuno is a great influance, one of those few who can play with just a cable and an any amp and delivers
Too fun! Thanks for lifting me today!
Ben Travers can switch between upward and downward pickslanting perfectly every time.
Your playing is visceral - love it

Great work bro, keep on!
Better technique than most guitar heros
Crazy good playing 🎸👍 best to you man!
Subbed through Rick graham
You deserve great success
I love how you made a shawn lane reference. He's hands down the greatest guitarist to ever live in my opinion and no one can come close to his speed and accuracy. The things he did with his right hand did not even seem real.
The one that uses alternate picking in each tempo is the GOAT! ♨️
Brilliant stuff, Ben! “3 sides to every story” is one of my favourite albums ever. It will always be a mystery to me why it was not more widely acclaimed.
Grunge🚀 Hair metal 🪦

To quote Palmisano... y'know, I REALLY don't know what to say.
Incredible playing
I like how you can hear the pick
Would love to see a play through of play with me by Extreme...but the Bill and Ted Movie version 😉
Nice, Ben your favorite brand/gauge of strings? Thanks
Wow amazing 😮

It's on my list. Stay tuned 👍
Love the playing and TONE! What amp are you using mate?
Hey Ben, Love it. Is the Tele your Favorite? Maybe a quick Vid on your Guitars and why you like 'em?🎸
Any advice to reach those picking chops for the intermediate/advanced player? The attack is insane, bro.
On my list 😉
At 01:23 it's like your Telecaster is having an orgasm 🔥🤟🏼
Really dig your playing style. Would really enjoy if George Lynch was in your list for a next video 😮😮😮
Great tone and vibrato !!! Btw what pickups are in that tele?
How are you getting your tone?
Its killer
now we need an Yngwie episode :D
My kind of channel 🙏
It's like a combination of Zach Wylde/Rick Graham...and it's awesome!!
any advice on how to pick as hard as you do?
On my list stay tuned
Awesome!
Do you have any tips for being able to increase finger dexterity? I can only manage one full repetition of the muted hammer-on part of the solo in Rise before my hand starts to cramp up.
Same with a lot of Nuno solos. How does he play that fast for that long?
Mate I could listen to you talk about licks and guitar forever, please ramble away!
greetings from Cayman Islands mate

Astonishing man!.. but why you choose or prefer that tele model to shred rather than others?
That’s not your typical Fender twangy Tele😉; amazing guitar playing…honestly…more feisty and gutsy than Nuno…to my ears and eyes. Awesome👍🏻🎸👍🏻
You f*****g rule!
Have to ask…why the 12 year break?
Ben is straight up beast mode! What kind of pickups???
Geezzzzzzzz!!!🤯
Where da hell have you been mate?
What pickups do you have in that tele?
Nuno the best of all
🔥🔥🔥
👏🏼
Shawn Lane video.
Rick was right. You are such a killer player!
You’re awesome man! Amazing playing 😊what made you stop playing for the last 12 years? I took a break for a few years but am back into it now (I’m 31 now) great stuff anyway!
Please, keep rambling on!
What’s the amp??
You cannot be human!
How the hell can you play like that… it’s so insanely fast but technically strong …
You are actually a cyborg aren’t you? 😂
Hoping your evil cyborg skills will rub off on me😎
I’m working on getting my legato down but you take it to such a ridiculously awesome level.
Keep it up… love the playing it’s super inspiring.
Practice, practice, practice... not to mention more than a little talent. And more practice.
Nuno would approve this
Awesome playing......and yes Nuno is an absolute badass....love all his stuff!! 🤘🤘
Let's have some Shawn Lane
That’s guitar now needs to see a doctor. Absolutely marvellous 🤘🏻
Extreme is such an underrated band
Shame on you for taking a sabbatical from guitar playing....
Welcome back....BTW your playing is straight up inspirational! THX

110% top 1.
