The spirit of fire, an antique of a warship, manages to take on the banished alone. And yet this scene here shows the infinity being overrun with ease. I was extremely disappointed with where halo has gone today.
It took on the Banished, it didn't take on Atriox himself. Look at what he did to Red Team. He solo'd 3 Spartan 2s and broke one of their collarbones without even trying. Atriox beat Chief, which meant Infinity wasn't gonna last.
As much as I like the cutscenes being one-shot and in-engine, if this is how rendered ones will look then I think I'd love to see more like this than the former

@@RL-DarkSpark I agree completely, but compared to the other Halo games 343 has made, this feels the most "Halo" to me. Campaign had epic cutscenes, and a great balance between chief and the weapon. I do agree the boss fights were a little dumb, and in fact legendary was easy compared to the old games. The only hard parts were the boss fights just because they had more health. (Although the harbinger was fairly difficult just because she moved so fast and her energy orbs were insta kill on legendary). Overall I had fun and lots of great times patrolling around with Marines in a warthog laying down the hurt just like old times😎
Atriox was the Covenant's boogeyman, plus at this point the guy had NOTHING left to lose and had a good lead on a galaxy wiping weapon. Cortana REALLY fucked up in making arguably the WORST enemy chief has ever faced. Plus in all his fights, he ragdolls everyone 1v1 then has his boys finish the job, dudes a menace
What a show. This is so well set that it works as an intro but it also would’ve worked as a flashback midgame, or an after credits. Midgame Chief might’ve reminisced about this loss after seeing Atriox’s hologram. OR after the credits, this could’ve played to finally clarify the then ongoing mystery of how did Chief end up stranded in space. Works either way. Fantastic.
I kinda wish this took place after a alternate first mission where you fight the banished while on the infinity. Imagine feeling like the ultimate badass, when all the sudden this cutscene plays and you get the shit kicked out of you.

We really could have used a longer cutscene. So much happened off-screen that a lot of people wouldn't have noticed. Like maybe the banished *beating* the UNSC offscreen, or Locke (and likely the rest of Osiris including Buck) being killed off-screen, or maybe a retcon to the Spirit of Fire being destroyed, I wouldn't mind watching a five minute cutscene if it actually tied up the plot-points that got handwaved.

By far the most spectacular intro that the saga has had. I remember being caught off guard by Atriox's sudden appearance and ironically delighted to see John defeated. I love the campaign and story of this game, they really did it very well, that's why the current state of the multiplayer and the total lack of content hurts me as well as the poor planning of it having had quite an experience with MCC and Guardians. It's the best halo since reach by far. They really nailed the gameplay and the general atmosphere. With bf and cod beeing total failure, how empty infinite feels is criminal
Spirit of Fire fought the Banished and seemed to do well for a decades old ship. UNSC Infinity, the pride and joy of the fleet, was steam rolled by the Banished in less than an hour. What happened here?!
Cortana's question actually got me thinking quite a bit. I don't know what I'd change if I knew how I was going to die. I'd rather know my demise and not change it then to know it and change.
_Supposedly_ over half the campaign was cut to make the 2021 release date. So the original vision for the campaign was probably much, much bigger. Just another example of the game having incredible potential only to fall short because of poor development management.

its great how they didnt put any background music, it somehow makes it a more intriguing opening
In 15-20 years this cutscene will become a classic
AMAZING intro. I hope we get to see more Atriox
@@technorunner1 it’s more of 343 trying to feed the fanbase of humanity being on the defensive
The Infinity was attacked on two sides.
Watching Master Cheif get broke off by Atrox was almost as hard to watch as what Thanos did to Hulk in "Infinity War".
When the new halo comes out, Jerome and John will show him no mercy.
Finally a 4K version of this in perfect 60FPS
This fight makes the Locke V Chief fight look like a fan animation.
As much as I like the cutscenes being one-shot and in-engine, if this is how rendered ones will look then I think I'd love to see more like this than the former
At the beginning, if you listen very closely, you can hear “we are under attack, I repeat, we are under attack!”
I’m still mad this wasn’t the first mission. It would’ve been awesome to fight alongside the other Spartans and protect marines while having a boss battle against Atriox that we are meant to loose. A lot of missed opportunities in the campaign.
I know this was a year ago but I think we should of been able to play as elites and this could of been the first game you get to play as brutes. Like that would of been cool if the first mission was you playing as Atriox and leading the attack on the infinity. And it would of also been cool to play as the Hand of Atriox.
This was such a good intro for such a good campaign. I really look forward to seeing what campaign DLC brings!
Bad campaign
@@happyhogan17 wow your such fun little guy arnt u. Even if u don’t like the campaign doesn’t mean u need to needlessly comment on someone who said they r enjoying it.
@@chargles301 I'll do whatever I want, fk you!

@@happyhogan17 better than most of bungie’s campaigns, except halo 2.

I wish the TV Show looked like this.
Too bad you got cheeks
Who survives longer.
One of the most powerful ships the UNSC has ever built that is armed and armored with the latest tech.
Or
Just one old ship with only half a crew that was lost adrift for 30 years.
RIP the Mantis. Wished I could have stomped Banished on Zeta Halo with you.
We can hope for an appearance in DLC.
Its implied the infinity was half staffed in this battle thats why it fell so quick
I wanted to have the same game as the cutscene 😢
Infinity in halo 4: "Puny little cruiser, get out of my way." Ramps through ship after exiting slip space not even losing integrity of its FORERUNNER shields.
Infinity in Infinite: "Is that banished? Uh oh." Gets rammed by several ships conveniently ignoring they have shields.
Also those same enemies couldn't kill a single frigate that didn't have any shielding or anything in halo wars 2
Reminds me of the starting cutscene in destiny 2 when you lose your light
Wish this would've been a mission where we had to hold them off then cut to this
Bro was unfazed by that hammer hit meanwhile halo tv show chief gets sent a mile away when hit with a regular hammer
Lol dang Atriox didn’t hold back, I guess he learned from facing Carter 😂
Crazy how everything of interest happened in this one cutscene
Hopefully the infinity is in DLC’s
The Infinity got destroyed though?
I just noticed that TWO brute ships plow into the INFINITY. The meant to take that ship out.
I think we can all agree the campaign was good and left me wanting more. Multiplayer is a different story
I know y'all gon' hate me but a there was a lot of stuff that could've been done better in the campaign...Multiplayer is a mess.
But I can't complain since 343 made this game. I'm probably having too high expectations because id software friggin nailed Doom Eternal and now most other games leave me hanging.
I know Halo is different than Doom and all but still.
For example why dafuq do they need to teach me how to look around at the start of the game 😭
Why not just give me the gun and tell me to kill anything that moves...
Also, some stuff seemed so emotionless to me. And don't get me started on the "Bosses" that weren't actual bosses...they just had more health. And wtf was the Harbinger doing...I beat it on Legendary and the Harbinger doesn't even attack...When I played Doom Eternal on Ultra Nightmare and I got to the Icon of Sin I knew shit was about to get real because that mf ripped me a new asshole on my first Hurt me plenty playtrough💀
I really hope that a future DLC has a true Bossfight with Atriox in it. Because at least he seems like he's strong af
Other than that I still had lots of fun playing Halo Infinite. I just think they could've done better considering the time that went into the game...
Amazing intro that pays homage to CE and picks up right after H5 Legendary ending
Covenant: defeated. Galaxy-consuning hive mind: defeated. An actual Forerunner: defeated. Monkey space pirate... a believable threat?!
Atriox was the Covenant's boogeyman, plus at this point the guy had NOTHING left to lose and had a good lead on a galaxy wiping weapon. Cortana REALLY fucked up in making arguably the WORST enemy chief has ever faced. Plus in all his fights, he ragdolls everyone 1v1 then has his boys finish the job, dudes a menace
hits different with a good speaker system.
Did I travel back in time by accident?
Yes
They’ll release a cookbook and a video of a cinematic we saw months ago before new maps
@@Tazdingoyahahahahaha 😂
@@Tazdingoyahahahahaha will one of the recipes be Atriox suflle
Imagine they made a animated show with this kind of animation and artstyle
Master Chief is Halo and 343 is Attrox basically
Lol
😂 Fitting because Chief was Bungie creation and Atriox is 343 creation, Attitude of Atriox is 343 attitude towards those franchise and community
The… “You shoulda killed me when you had the chance!!” Scene will be even better!!
I know it may be an unpopular opinion to enjoy this game, but I really do like this game, HUUUGE props to whoever directed this bit
If you listen very closely at the beginning, you can hear “we are under attack, I repeat, we are under attack!” As the camera pans over to the Infinity
It’s the only good cutscene where something of substance happens
@@cryptotic5257 I don’t know what you’re referring to, as Spartan Griffin’s death made me care about a Spartan I had never met and even just seeing the incredible holiness that is Bassus was enough to get me back in the game
The cutscenes literally never got better than this one
How did we go from the insane stakes that Halo 5 ended on to infinite?
It’s like going from Infinity War straight to Spider-Man: Far From Home, everyone’s gonna have questions.
Cortana was neutralized a year after Halo 5 in Instalation 07 in a battle. This takes place immediately after that battle.
Writers cannot commit to any plot they make. They offed the Didact in a comic after halo 4 in a stupid way and now this.
@@AxisChurchDevoteeAnd it's unfortunate, 343 gets so scared of backlash that they backpedal too much
I remember getting the disc for this game couldnt wait in the middle of the night and just decided to play it
You love this
We love this
We really could have used a longer cutscene.
*HANDS DOWN one of the most badass Halo Cutscenes in the entire franchise. Wish we had more in Infinite like this.*
intro was better than the first 2 episodes of Paramount series.
The series is also good.
@@diegorojas3075 maybe if you know nothing about halo, but if you have even read the first book from 2001 fall of reach, its like watching your house burn to the ground.
I love when a game starts off with a line that seemingly makes no sense a all, but at the end, the line is repeated and it makes PERFECT sense.
343 also did this with "promise me that before this Is over, you'll figure out which one of us is the machine" gets me every time
Campaign wasn't perfect but still really fun to play. Legendary and LASO completed!
This is the closes thing we're gonna get to a crossover with the mainline Halo games and the Halo Wars games.
I remember the moment I saw the Master Chief just rag dolled my mouth dropped.
2nd best intro moment only to Halo 5's The Light Is Green.

Can't wait for this game to come out!
I want to see Halo at the top, for God's sake!
Fr!
agreed as i said in my video yesterday it didnt have to be like this 343i has no one to blame but themselves and microsoft and im saying this as someone who absolutely loves this game and is doing a legendary run at the moment
It's the best halo since reach by far. They really nailed the gameplay and the general atmosphere. With bf and cod beeing total failure, how empty infinite feels is criminal
@@HaloGaming08 bro I LOVE the campaign, it’s insane to say but I had more fun playing it then halo 3, I like it better tbh lol
@@JongleurBt1 facts man it reeks of bad planning by management
I love this cut scene soooo much😉
This game needed many more cutscenes like this one
Also Atriox is not the last face Chief sees but he should’ve been
Yeah not the last face for chief to see but Atriox is the last face the player sees at the end of the game.
Spirit of Fire fought the Banished and seemed to do well for a decades old ship.
UNSC Infinity, the pride and joy of the fleet, was steam rolled by the Banished in less than an hour.
What happened here?!
I haven't played the campaign yet but this video looks incredible.
If only they put enough effort into the multiplayer
Once forge drops it will be fine
Multiplayer is fun if you know how to play, but there aren't enough maps and except the 3 btb maps the others are too competitive/esporty
Cortana's question actually got me thinking quite a bit. I don't know what I'd change if I knew how I was going to die.
I'd rather know my demise and not change it then to know it and change.
Love every single movements in this
I love this game. Any excuse to get behind an assault rifle is amazing.
It was a great intro. A part of me feels that the campaign itself was slightly underwhelming in comparison.
A part of you is right
I dint think they're done with the campaign
I agree the story itself was underwhelming but the gameplay in the campaign was spot on and fun through and through. Atleast for me it was.
Gameplay was fun but the open world was pretty boring
_Supposedly_ over half the campaign was cut to make the 2021 release date. So the original vision for the campaign was probably much, much bigger.
Just another example of the game having incredible potential only to fall short because of poor development management.
Atriox didn't know Chief is impervious to fall damage. Dude falls from orbit like all the time.
Good intro. Game needs updates big time though
Indeed, good thing it’s coming soon
Thank God we're only a few weeks now from season 2
@vhs quality not as stale, since it’ll be half the length, thankfully
