think you had it hard, mine is a toughened screen (factory tinted blue), I'm thinking yours may have already been replaced as your car is the same month and year as mine. You can tell if its factory by looking at the bottom l/h cnr of the screen, should show who manufactured it, also there's a tint code printed there, should be something like M(and 3numbers) - e.g. M283. From memory there's Pilkington and Molar (or something like that) that are the Qld manufactures. I spent 15 years in a wrecking yard and the steel wire method in still the best, also you can get the steel wire from Bunnings, there's also a air tool that has a flat blade that is meant for windscreens, works pretty good to. 1 small tick is as you cut the polyurethane spray dish water/washing liquid onto it and this will stop it the urethane sticking back to itself.
I may be wrong Matt, but I think that tool with the pull handle may be for removing excess sealant after you have the screen out (Well that is what I used it for). Good job, I was packing bricks when I removed the rear screen out of my Levin. That car has no replacement glass available in Aus
Such great news mate, it's an awesome feeling to do this stuff by yourself :) If you haven't got into the rusted frame yet, maybe check out Home Built By Jeff - he's doing just that sort of repair on an F-truck cab - the Frankenhauler!
As a window tinter those trim tools are very handy. Use it everyday. Even after my days tinting I’ll make sure I’ll have one in the tool kit
I was holding my breath for you Matt.. that was tense!
Haha, a little bit :)
Nice work man. Can add that to the list of skills and tools you now have.
That's it! :)

Yeah looking at the screen after it's not a factory one :)

hrmmm interesting, well i need to do that now anyway so i'll use that tool :)
Good work mate. Great outcome except for the rust in the roof but I'm sure you'll fix that.
Thanks mate, yeah I'll get it done, already sketched out a plan for how to do it but man it's going to be a mission!

Top effort!
cheers legend!
To add to your victory, two separate teams of pros were sent to pull the original windscreen from my S13, and they still cracked it.
Awwww yeah!
Makes me nervous whats in my AW11 as it has rust in the side from a previous dodgy smash repair
Oh man it's cactus under that screen I'm.goimg to have to replace the whole front of that roof *sigh*
Nothing like doing a job yourself
