    Lovely! Just bought a manual 3.4L 987 S (as my first car, in fact) to treat myself. I understand the emotions! It's an excellent machine. Sounds and looks phenomenal.

      That’s crazy, enjoy it! What is the 3.4 L like?

    I want everything in that garage. Especially David Coulthard’s race suit

    I own this car too, exactly the same, Porsche Boxster 987 S manual gear box!! Enjoy it, it is lovely and extremely fast!
    Just one tip, try to fix the roof connection on the sides (seems it does not properly fit into the guides), in this way you avoid to have any future humidity in the cockpit :) Cheers

      Nice one - I’m loving it so far! Yeah I wondered about that, have been told it’s standard fitment but do suffer a little humidity. How did you fix it?

    I am very excited to be looking at Boxsters too. Wondered if you could help me. Used to be a runner and now have 3 slipped discs, can you tell me how light / heavy the clutch is in these car's? (if too heavy I'll have to have a tiptronic but would really prefer manual)
    Cheers in advance for your help Martin

      The clutch is pretty stiff to be honest - not ridiculous supercar stiff but stiffer than the average car. I think your trouble may be getting in and out - I’m in pretty good shape and a small bloke and I struggle to get out sometimes! Deffo test drive one to be sure, because they are incredible cars

      Thanks for taking the time to reply, really appreciate it glad you like your Boxster and Im looking forward to getting one of my own..

      If you change the clutch then it becomes a lot lighter. Biggest challenge you might find is getting in and out. I’m 32 and 6ft2 and it can be awkward!

    I have a Boxster so no idea why I am watching this but anyways! Don't know if you noticed but your roof it not seating right but it a super easy fix 10 mins job something you may want to think about loads of RUclips videos on it. Good video keep it up and great car, the drive and the engine make it, even if the boars out there say it not a real Porsche.

    • @carchaps
      @carchaps  Год назад +1

      Cheers for that! Yeah, the roof is a bit tarnished, the elastic has given up the ghost. Have to manually tuck it in, but apart from that loving every second

    What year is it? Looks later but you say it's the 3.2, not the 3.4?

    I also just had to sacrifice my F57 MINI JCW Convertible to get my wife something more practical to drive every day than our big Ascent (which we still need to keep). I'm looking at this same model, a 2007 w/ 57k miles for $25,000 USD. In my position would you do it again? Unlike you I'm 46 and it would be the third car in the family.

      Honestly, I now have a Boxster and I still miss the Mini…amazing little car

      @@carchaps sigh, yeah I think I'll be in the same boat. My mini was a real gem too, a JCW +AND+ a cabriolet. Shoulda just bought its replacement outright I guess, but probably going to have to fill the void with a cheap Miata. I won't be able to stomach paying $28k for the same MINI I just traded away for 19. Maybe I'll bide my time and get the weird new electric.

    How can you say the back end is so much better than a 986 ? There nearly the same ! And your spoiler doesn't close properly ?
