My STNG had both of those problems, broken resister on the trough, easily repaired, and both eddy sensors, quick adjustment with a screwdriver. You want to adjust it so the light is just barely off, rolling the ball past triggers the sensor and lights the led. Nicely done!

Thank you so much for this instruction Video! I bought my STTNG three weeks ago and had a permanent problem with ball counting during game. With your help I could sort out 2 (!) broken LEDs and a broken conductive path on the opto board. You have great talent for explaining!

Thanks for putting this together, it helped me understand the trough sensors and thus how to troubleshoot the ones on my Theatre of Magic.

Hello! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Do you know where I could possibly buy the sound card for this machine?

First, what's wrong with the original or are you missing the sound card? If you can find an original or buy a replacement like Pinsound, either way it's gonna be pricy. I would repair the original if possible. I think Pinsound will replace it, but I don't know for sure as I have never used one. www.pinsound.org/machine/star-trek-the-next-generation/#sound-board
