    I thought the little squares in between the C°/F° degree indicators were supposed to light up! I had the heat turned up to the max without noticing all the squares turned RED! Your video had me race to the tank and realize that the squares are not LEDs but turn red when you swivel the post!!! The instructions do not mention the red swiveling up when you turn the post! I'm cycling a new 30 gallon tank and needed to be 1000% sure of how to use this heater BEFORE putting my betta in it. Thank you! 😊

    I have a problem so I have a regular thermostat, like the yellow tube glass. And somehow it stops at 72 degrees when I set it 79 degrees I’m afraid my guppies and bettas will die if I can’t do anything about.
    Unless the thermostat is wrong?

    Wow you can adjust it unplugged. Would’ve been nice to mention that topfin

    How do you accurately read which temp you are setting it to?

    To be clear, is it clockwise to turn the heater down and counter-clockwise to turn the heater up? Thanks for any answers in advance. I dont want to cook my new fish :(

    I bought a Topfin heater to save a few bucks. Big mistake. It was fine for a few months but then one morning all my fish were dead and the water was at 95 degrees. Never buy a Topfin!
    And yes, the water was at the correct level relative to the heater.

    Thanks for the video. This is my 3rd heater of different brands, and my temp goes up to 85 in my 55g even when they're set to 76. I've checked the temp with 3 different thermometers including 1 meat thermometer..it actually worked and was the same temp as the other 2. I know what I'm doing and can't figure out why my temp is so high. I've got 9 different species of corys in that tank and it's too hot. It's far away from any window and actually under an ac vent. I'm just gonna unplug the heater because we keep it at 70 in the apartment. I've got 2 seachem tidal 110s with internal motors that might warm the temp a bit...but I'm out of guessing what it could be...any thoughts

    You have the bottom suction cup placed on the part that gets hot. Might want to move it up to the glass, per the manual.

      Good to know, but it shouldn’t hurt anything

      It is on the heating element and the manual states not to put the lower suction cup there. Did you have any issues?

    • @Fredsreviews58
      @Fredsreviews58  Год назад

      @@jessicacambre5209 Nope, never had issues. Maybe it could melt the suction cup?

      @@jessicacambre5209it seems on other models it sells one where the suction cups are all together - as in all 4 on one plastic piece as opposed to 2 plastic pieces with 2 suction cups on them. Then it shows to put the plastic part on the non-heated part, so it seems they’re implying NOT to have the plastic or suction cups directly on the heating element. Hopefully this makes sense

    I went to this video wondering which way to turn the knob to turn the heat down. Your video cuts off the top so I can't see what you're doing. Do you know which way to turn it?

    • @Fredsreviews58
      @Fredsreviews58  Год назад

      If I remember correctly, it has a red marker indicator when you turn the knob to show you the tank it will set at

    when i try to adjust it to lower then 82 it turns off :( why.

    • @Fredsreviews58
      @Fredsreviews58  Год назад

      Your water temp must be over whatever degree your trying to set it too. For example, If the water temp is 80 degrees, the heater won't turn on if set below 80.

    So you can adjust this before it's even plugged in? The instructions are crap. They say absolutely nothing about how the knob at the top works. I'll mess with it some more, but I'm DONE with top fin products.

    • @Fredsreviews58
      @Fredsreviews58  Год назад +1

      Yes, you can adjust it before or after it’s in the water.

      @@Fredsreviews58 The red guage is very subtle and hard to see, but I took the heater out of the tank and fiddled with it until I understood how to operate it. Now it's working as designed. Thanks for the instruction. 🐷
