What do I need to do to get a free Obi-Wan Lightsaber? Its my favorite, but I can't afford one. Where does the raffle take place?
I miss your older style vids talk X vs Y and lore
👍 👍
It's a shame that you moved away from doing actual content, like this and became a victim of Star Wars instead. I agree with you on almost everything you have said about how terrible MOST of Star Wars has become. But the way you have decided to react to it and the negativity you put out on a regular basis as of late has convinced me that it is time to unsubscribe. I'm sure you won't care at all that you have lost a loyal subscriber because of this, which is also a shame. I will remember your channel and you for what/who you once were before you chose to embrace your hate and allow it to consume you. Sound familiar? 😢
Good old StarWars Theory is backkkkk!
👍 👍
@soldatintelectual6544lol
Yes!!!
Yes
Somehow, Star Wars theory returned
It's quite nice to see you make this type of content again. This is exactly the kind of stuff that made me like your channel in the first place. Please don't stop making videos like this.
It’s a bit difficult to compare the power and skill of prequel and OT force users. The duels were portrayed so differently in each era because of the lack of technology during the OT.
It's easy. Luke is not on his level with sword skill or force ability
At the dawn of the Empire, two Jedi masters had faced 2 Sith lords and lost. It seemed highly improbable that a Jedi still in training could defeat Vader and Palpatine in combat. But though Luke lacked Yoda And Obi wan's lightsaber skills, he possessed qualities they had lost sight of when they faced their Sith foes. Luke was not hampered by anger, or shame in the Jedi Order or himself. By the time he faced Palpatine, and the combined powers of master and apprentice, the key elements that set Luke apart were clarity of purpose and empathy."

"To defend his master, Vader deflected Luke's attack. As they battled, Luke perceived the conflict blooming I'm Vaders heart, but the Sith Lord used Luke's openness against him, exposing his feelings for his friends and Leia in particular. Something in Luke broke as Vader claimed he would turn Leia into a puppet of the Sith if Luke resisted."
"The savageness of Luke's attack surprised Vader, who was unprepared for Luke's explosive reaction."

Because of that OT Charcaters (except Vader) usually get downplayed massively
Not just lack of tech, the media were at their peak in prequel. And in the words of GL "we'd never actually seen a jedi at their peak fight, all we had seen is old men and half crippled machines"
It's amazing that people don't understand this.
Anakin: Well, if he had the high ground it might give me some trouble.
Palpatine: But would you lose?
Anakin: Nah, I'd win
Yoda: lose would you?
Obi wan: nah id win.
Scaling wise Luke wins but as the result of technology of the time it appears that Luke would lose
"Stand proud Luke, you are strong."
@@BenAri18Luke didn’t have the experience yet to win
@@michaeltabor2077 That's irrelevant George confirmed Luke is on Vaders level in Rotj who obviously scales above Obiwan in Rots cause Rotj is Vaders prime
@@BenAri18 & he also held back against his son! & yes it’s Disney! & I agree obi wan throwing rocks like he was YODA was ridiculous but was not is Vader was slower & couldn’t get his arms above his head. & while not a problem for bascislly any other Jedi, obi wan was just too fast for him & partially why he switched back to form 4 the thing that suit did for Vader in a beneficial way allowed him to take way more hits with a light Sabre like wearing football equipment or not 💯
I like how two of Obi-Wan's biggest losses were both to Dooku. I swear that old man could fight with vicious intent. Lol.
Agreed. I also think Count Dooku was uniquely suited to “disable” ObiWan, being the Master of ObiWan’s Master, QuiGon. That Dooku went to the Sith must have rankled ObiWan on a very deep level; plus, he may have felt that Dooku was intrinsically better such that ObiWan could not mount his normal level of defense. Count Dooku’s ability to use the Sith power (I forgot the name) of putting down opponents, thus mentally disabling them, was also unusually strong against ObiWan, whereas Anakin seemed unfazed by it. Thank you for this video!!! ❤
@@oldgreymare3677 i heard from somewhere that dooku's lightsaber form (form II makashi) counters obi wan's lightsaber form (form III soresu)
Dooku is kind of Obi-wan's perfect counter since the forms that Kenobi mastered were both torn apart by Makashi and Dooku was THE master of Makashi.
Don't forget that Obi Wan probably feels like he has to prove something to Dooku being Qui-gons apprentice.
@@aaronconway5404 That too. Hilariously Obi-wan did better against Dooku in AOTC than he did in ROTS. He still lost but had a much better performance against Dooku and had the badass blocking Force Lightning with a lightsaber moment.
@@robertbarrows6687and sadly, Obi Wan still beats up badly in AoTC. It seems no matter how badass Obi Wan became, Dooku's status as Qui Gon's master and his Makashi mastery is his Kryptonite
Unfortunately Makashi is the only style that Obi Wan can’t beat and counter. The only style to defeat Makashi is Djem So which Anakin is the master of that style. That’s why Anakin beat Dooku because Makashi style can’t compete with Djem So it’s the Kyroptonite for Dooku and Dooku said “Skywalker is the greatest Master of Djem So I have ever seen” Anakin mastered both forms of Djem So and implemented and amplified it to his own fighting style which Dooku feared. I wish Obi Wan had a rematch that was better in ROTS.
@@jaxsontuttle4932 Obi-Wan mastered Soresu during the Clone Wars, not at the beginning, and totally stonewalled Dooku in their last duel, that’s why Dooku used Force choke.
Hey man! I used to watch your old theories, discussions etc on the Star Wars lore a couple years back and they were some of the best videos in the Star Wars scene imo. Funnily enough I only just remembered and went looking for this channel today, so I’m glad that your first video in a long while is back to these kinds of discussions. Please keep this going man!
Has Theory seen "Skywalker Shadows of Evil"? It's one of the best fan made Luke fight scenes. Luke fights various different opponents. Great duels and variations.
This.... this right here.... is the content that keeps me goin..
Thanks for going back to this stuff theory!!!
Please continue making videos like this, this is the kind of content I subscribed for
Obi wan is the very definition of “hard work beats talent, when talent fails to work hard”
This was such a refreshing video! Lore and fan fictions! I missed this man.
Ah this video is refreshing. I miss these videos. Reminds me of the old times of the channel 🥺🙏🏾 thanks for this. I was curious about who would win between these 2 from your POV
Man I have missed these!!!! Thanks Genaral Theory 👏
Obi wan would troll luke and then cut off his other good hand and burn or shock him then leave stealing his lightsaber while still trolling him. Good shit.
He could do that ngl😂
The only reason you are saying that is because ots choreography didn't age well
@@joel5135not only that, Obi went through Jedi school, college, uni, did PhD’s, became Professor and then went out into the galaxy schooling the baddest mofos around, who were at their best. Luke comparatively had no quality practice in much less time. For Luke to display much more than he did with the same training would be less than Rey.
I really missed these classic Star Wars videos. Thanks Star Wars Theory :)
You kept mentioning him not reacting to satine dying but ignored the fact that he lashed out in anger against Maul when he taunted the fact he killed Jinn with him even mentioning that his anger had unbalanced him. So he definitely has the trigger points to become unbalanced just like Luke does
Was it pure anger? Or focus...
@@StarWarsTheory I just look back. He said your rage has unbalanced you
He was much much younger there than he was in Revenge of the Sith
@@Tocaraca at best he was two years younger than episode 3 the clone wars was only 3 years long
What are you talking about? The fight with Maul was in EP 1 not 2, and there are quite a few years in between EP 1 and EP 3, just look at Anakin's age difference...
I would like to see Kanan Jarus vs Baylan Skoll
OOOOOOO
Why lol Baylan beat Ahsoka fairly easily and Ahsoka easily beats Kanan
Baylan Skoll vs Mace Windu
@@abujordan8405beat Ahsoka? Look at both of their duels. He was skilled sure but clearly was not Ahsokas equal. The only time he got any advantage was when Ahsokas hand was injured allowing to him leverage his strength even more effectively giving him the win. That injury doesn’t happen, Baylan would have been defeated no question.
Against Kannan he def would win but Jarrus is not a complete push over and would atleast be able to hold his own even for a brief time.
@@RockFan98I mean nothing supports that claim, if she could’ve “easily” defeated him then she would’ve, and then she wouldn’t have ran from him on the second encounter.
Honestly dude... I've been listening to your theories for years now and ive never msgd you but your star wars knowledge is 2nd to none and I think you should definitely working with dave filoni especially after them short vader movies you made .. and I don't care what anyone says about you, you seem like a really sound guy and like i said your star wars knowledge and theories are awesome and have got me through some hard times when i needed my mind to be in a galaxy far far away.. keep up the good work and make more what ifs too bro.. STW to make his own movie..... this is the way
Thank you bro. I hope you'll enjoy Vader ep II and III
old school Theory, I like it
Obi wins due to experience and knowledge.
Don't forget patience...
Depends on which Luke. Legends Luke after the NJO series would whoop kenobis booty
And he has the High Ground.
Luke inherited Anakins impatience and lack of emotional control, though he had more control than Anakin ever did, that’s why he didn’t fall into the dark side
Obi is the best hands down
Amazing episode as always. It shows how potential alone isn't enough but combined with discipline, and experience this is the true potential. Thank you Theory for the video🌟
Broooo keep these coming. So much fun, inspired me to do something similar but different 💯💪🏻
The good old days are back please a next video of Darth Nihilus Vs Yoda
I feel like just the clip of Obi wan matching Anakin’s force push is enough to prove he would be at least equal to a provoked Luke, if not stronger
That was Anakin before relying on the force. But I get your point.
I saw someone saying that they believe that Obi-Wan didn't actually match Anakin at all, rather that Obi-Wan tried to "Force Push" him first , but Anakin countered with a matching force push and started overpowering him as Obi-Wan's hand goes back, however the force flung them both.
I personally believe that have Anakin had a clear head at that moment, he would stomp Obi-Wan both with a Force and with the Lightsaber as he wouldn't try "it"
Luke is on another level though.
Anakin never trusted in the force Like luke did. Anakin Always prefered the lightsaber
definitely not stronger lol
@@Volsxerprobably so. But that's the entire point everyone tried to tell Anakin. He would have been a master and unbeatable if he just learned to let go and quit getting so emotional and angry about everything. It was the one part of being a great Jedi and combatant that he missed. People could emotionally beat him and get him off balanced and then he was beatable. That's the whole reason Obi Wan, Luke and Ashoka were able to get to him in their fights.
Nice to see an old-style video back. Obi-Wan would be way too prepared to deal with raw power (Maul, Dooku, Ventress, & all the sparring matches with other Jedi Masters), let alone another Skywalker. Especially one that others say is like his father. I give Luke about two years of intense training and experience before he could even surprise Obi-Wan.
Prime Darth Plagueis vs Yoda is interesting. Considering if he defeated Sidious Yoda would have had to face him
Oh yeah! OG Theory’s back!!
Could u do a vid on Disney Boba Fett vs Ep 2 Jango? That would be spicy 🔥
I missed these dream duel videos! These are always so interesting to watch. 😊
Hey Theory- Your take on the intricacies of battles between force users is so spot on as a comparison to matches between chess players... especially strong or master-level chess players. Pyschology. Experience. Aggressive play vs. patience, and waiting for the right opening to upset the balance.... it's all there! Curious to know your thoughts, or anyone's thoughts on this comparison. Thanks, and keep bringing us more like this!!
It's the classic scenario of hardwork vs talent, and the saying goes: "hardwork beats talent"; with that logic in mind, Obi beats Luke. Obi is a veteran of wars and trained in the jedi council. If Luke had that same training and experience, it is a different outcome.
Dude, you should totally get back to making more videos like this. It's miles more interesting than what's currently going on at Disney.
I am SOOO happy you’re doing these again! These are literally what brought me to the channel in the first place!
Please make more of these types of videos! I really don't care for the News Videos or Disney videos you make, *I just like the good old classic nerdy star wars videos!*
Rogue Squadron is back in production!
Amazing! You really need to make more videos like this!!
Yeah I said Obi Wan as well because of not only his knowledge and defense, he also literally went through the entire clone wars and that is a huge thing.
Count Dooku vs Darth Vader would be a very interesting fight
Yoda Rots vs Windu Rots
Sidious and Vader vs Yoda and Windu ?
Please do more of these!
Hey Theory been a fan for years love to hear your take on this Anakin ROTS VS DATH MAUL CWS7
Please make video who's mechanical arm is better luke vs anakin
love hearing your voice and this music together again
I would love if you could do Valkorian vs Darth Sidious one day
I agree with the verdict and the points for it. Well done
Since The Last Jedi more or less. Glad to see these type of videos again.
i love these kind of videos! glad to see more of these!!
Tbh it’s kinda crazy to see how far you’ve come on this channel I been watching your videos since I was like 15 I’m 24 now 😱
I’m a huge fan I love your work. Can you do a video either what if Exar Kun never went to the Darkside, and was trained by Mace Windu. Or Exar Kun verses general grievous. Or what if grandmaster Luke Skywalker trained Exar Kun.🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Love these types of vids!
From the movies we have, this is the best comparison of the two, but it's still not a fair fight for Luke. Obi-Wan is significantly more experienced. But I watched the original trilogy a few days ago for the first time in many years and just had to smile at how much Luke had advanced between V and VI. It was like a warm reminder of why I loved playing as Luke in BF II. He's so cold in ROTJ. The OT really is at it's base, a story about the progression of Luke from a nobody to the galaxy's hero and that's so cool.
Luke is a Skywalker dude, Yoda trained him without the restrictions that Anakin had. For me ROTJ Luke beats ROTS Obi Wan, high diff.
@@dzav2250Ye he Wins they are Obiwan fan boy
I'm resubscribed now. This is where it's at. You seemed a little bummed about SW in it's current state. The great thing about Theory is you can make it how you want it to be. Original, Prequel and even Sequel. This is the way
The Son vs WBW Anakin
Content like this is exactly why I fell in love with your channel, I hope to see many more vids like this 🥰🥰🥰
Yes the old videos are back!! Thank you theory!!!
I think you're right, but partly also because they are both light side oriented in those movies. Regardless of what got them into the fight, their ultimate goal would be peace. They'd be fighting where a stalemate is a win.
Dude ! Super interesting topic! , I wonder also what if Qui-Gon Jinn fought Anakin ROTS
Prime theory right here! Love it man, gotta say though Obi wan for me is up there for debateably most iconic alongside luke and anakin. Alec and ewan and james arnold have truly created a powerful influential character!
obiwan > Rotj luke
obiwan < bobf luke
Love these videos!
I fully agree with this assessment. I think no matter the time though obi wan would always out skill Luke in lightsaber combat due to his formal training at the temple, where as Luke had limited training compared to other Jedis. though with the force Luke for sure would win
Even with the force, kenobi still wins, he's also a powerhouse force user. Plus:
At the dawn of the Empire, two Jedi masters had faced 2 Sith lords and lost. It seemed highly improbable that a Jedi still in training could defeat Vader and Palpatine in combat. Hey Theory. Great vid. What about doing Maul against Ventress ?
Luke in ROTJ was stated to be equal to Vader in terms of dueling when they clashed. Vader had mastered all 7 forms of lightsaber combat and when Luke tapped into the darkside was able to overwhelm him. ROTJ Luke >= ROTJ Vader > ROTS Obi wan. Luke also pulled a star destroyer out of orbit in the comics post ROTJ.
Nice to see you going back to your roots! Agree Obi’s experience gets him the win. Maybe a future versus battle could be who was a better strategist: Clone Wars Anakin or Revan during the mandalorian wars
It's been a long time since I've been here and Im glad to be back.
You were magnificent, Skywalker. I’ll never forget you for as long as I live”
OMG the old type of video. I forgot how mutch i loved the old videos
In the Kenobi show there was actually gonna be a scene where Obi wan fights Luke on Mustafar just like he fought Vader but they scraped it for some reason.
Could you make a video like this with Kyle Katarn? In memory of those amazing Dark Forces games. Thanks.
Loving the classic SWT content! Hope its part of a revival of that older style!
We missed you!❤
I always thought Luke wasn't up to scale in terms of combat with a lot of other Star Wars characters specifically because of the fight choreography in the main trilogy. I feel as though that if we could see a lightsaber duel with Luke, with prequel trilogy filmmaking techniques, he would come off as way more powerful.
Well now it's not needed, he didn't recieve the formal training to have the prequels style skill:
At the dawn of the Empire, two Jedi masters had faced 2 Sith lords and lost. It seemed highly improbable that a Jedi still in training could defeat Vader and Palpatine in combat. But though Luke lacked Yoda And Obi wan's lightsaber skills, he possessed qualities they had lost sight of when they faced their Sith foes. Would love to see some theories on some 2v1 battles. Like we know Luke would’ve beaten ventress and grievous on their own but when if he had to fight them at the same time? Same for Anakin. Idk I just think that would be something interesting to explore as well
I really think you should do an Anakin vs. Luke battle. Who was the better pilot?
Woooo! Just like rewatching the prequels gets u back to George Lucas Star Wars, this content takes me back to OG theory!!!
I love this! Such an interesting video. Please do Mace vs Yoda
Hey theory, could you also review some info from the making of star wars books. More stuff that most don't know about.
Durge vs Mando w/ dark saber
I would say in kenobis defence about his power, while obviously potential not near to Luke (not trying to say it is). He is more naturally powerful and gifted then made out. He's like a dyslexic jedi meaning, a dyslexic person's iq is naturally higher, but have difficulty learning in conventional manner, or just have to put in more effort. I see kenobi like this, he matched a force push with anakin, in kenobi, displayed some incredible feats of power towards the end. The dooku push is used to discredit him, but I feel like palps had something to do with that
One thing that could also give Obi Wan an edge- Obi Wan trained for years with Anakin, and a lot of Luke’s style was learned in active combat against Vader. While Anakin and Vaders style weren’t identical, I think they were similar enough that Obi Wan would be much more comfortable with Luke’s style than the other way around.
This man is always on point
Hey buddy big fan of urs I never read any of the Star Wars books which ones should I read and start with?
The classics have returned! Theory Videos!
I think that Obi Wan wins if he does the opposite of what he did facing Anakin. I think that if he does any kind of taunting, Luke would unleash his full potential with a much greater level of control than Anakin did. Any kind of emotional edge is going to make Luke far more dangerous.
I also believe that Anakin certainly SHOULD have won on Mustafar, but held back for the thrill of the fight and out of pride, eventually allowing himself to be exploited. Luke, I believe, would not make such a mistake. BUT, if Obi-Wan approached the battle as he should and remains stoic, I think he gets the win.
Love the content. These are the conversations I'm here for.
This is very much an argument that comes up a lot!
Potential vs Training
I’ve always Luke is immensely skilled for his age and relative lack of proper training and experience. I put at a power and skill level compatible to Obi Wan himself around the time period of Attack Of The Clones/early clone wars.
ROTS Obi Wan is a completely different animal. He simply is more skilled and experienced with the lightsaber and Luke would be defeated albeit after very likely putting up an impressive fight.
So happy to sees these vids again theory
Could you do a video about a fight between Qui-Gon Jinn and Anakin? I think that sort of battle would be so interesting because of the relationship they had. Maybe even a What if Qui-Gon had resurfaced and faced Anakin on Mustafar.
I think Qui Gon wouldn't have fought Anakin. He'd realize Kenobi and Anakin became better than him. I could see Qui Gon meeting with Yoda and Kenobi to meet Anakin to turn him back.
Love this type of video!
R2-D2 vs BB8 🤓🔥 Robot Wars Style!!!!
Yeah I agree 100% with your reasoning. Obi Wan trained from his youth and was a veteran of a galactic war that lasted three years with numerous duels against some of the strongest dark side users (Maul, Savage, Ventress, Dooku and Vader to name a few), there's no way Luke can beat that kind of experience.
Agreed and love these type of videos, more please
Its been said that Obi-Wan was the only one who could beat General Grievous in Revenge of the Sith. I'm not sure how true that actually is, so I propose a few videos of who is more powerful featuring General Grievous vs various Jedi like Yoda, Anakin, Windu, Luke, etc.
(5:05) Luke was also not hesitant in also using the Dark Side if he needed to. He was balanced that way.
tales of the jedi dooku vs Ep 1 Maul next!
Awesome video theory! I love your content. Who would win, Cal Kestis from Jedi: Survivor, or Revan from Kotor?
Theory . Start doing hour long what if videos. Say a video where Luke time travels to the high republic era . Or even goes to the old republic and meets a younger yoda. Would luke be more powerful than every force being back then?
