- How not to behave at Shiva.
Shiva (Hebrew: שבעה) (literally "seven") is the week-long mourning period in Judaism for first-degree relatives: father, mother, son, daughter, brother, sister, and spou
Brilliant! At the shiva for my father I was almost speechless when a community rabbi came to "comfort me" and asked me who had died.
Beyond hysterical. Watched it so many times, never gets old. You guys are so on target. Oscar worthy!
im embarrassed to say how many times i watched this. By far the funniest thing ive ever seen thank u!!!
Wow these are so on point! Favorite: So are you going to E"Y for the Hakomas Matzeivah? My son is in yeshiva and I have 3 boxes of coco puffs...
Finally some guidance on what to say during such a difficult time. Thank you!
ALL the Lines are TOTALLY hysterical and have me ROFL!!! I love the cocoa puffs and the mazal tov phone call in the middle and the "yesh al mi lismoych" for the height of the chair and OMG - i KNOW people like this!!!!
at 2:40 when he says "yesh al ma lismoch" (there is what to rely on) the other guys agrees, "yesh" (there is)....mamesh awesome
As someone who has sat shiva and who has heard more appallingly stupid things than you can imagine, this was on-point and hilarious. Yasher Koach!
I would love to be part of this comedy crew. Been through yeshivah and scarred for life. :-))
Awesome!! Ifrah boys you were hysterical!
From a long-lost friend
Ahhh....Sherry Cask.....Gevaldig !!
Mentioned on MDY Daf yomi shiur today. Funny!
This video is hilarious!!!! I love it you guys did such a good job! Favorite scene: The "Mazal toyv mazal toyv!! Nar Simchas!!!! In abundance!!!!!
Happy Purim! The opening scene is brilliant! The faces ..the stares..the silence!
"the same era as the shatnez in the baseball glove" this is mamash hysterical
this was HILARIOUS. Keep up the good work, boys!
Eli, great job. Waiting for your next video.
And the one about knowing someone who had the same machala...but he lived. but then he went off the derech...and then he died. so really it's the same thing.... AWESOME - ROLLING ON CEILING LAUGHING!!!
I'm dying here. This is amazing. The ending is classic!
This video is hilarious! My favorite line is: oh, you can't come to my daughter's wedding? Maybe you can be the waiter?
simply brilliant.
at any shiva the first brocha to make is always
ברוך אתה יהוה אלוהינו מלך העולם שלא עשני חסיד
אמן
My fave is the facial expression at 2:06. This video is a gem.
Absolutely brilliant! Great acting and soooo hilarious!
this came in handy during my shiva. so funny. thanks guys.
That's such a great idea I think they should splice it in and then the video will be absolutely perfect!
You guys are very good. We will work together one day.
Came here from r eli stefanski... #mdy
"Looks to me, like I have a feeling, that the chair you're sitting on is a shtickle high..."
@toobdood613 I've sat shiva twice in the past several years, for a parent and for a spouse, and I'm not at all offended by this. Unfortunately, I've heard some of these comments myself, and so have my close relatives.
If this helps one person hold back from saying something inadvertantly hurtful to an avel, it's well worth it for that alone.
Charlie....did you put this together or simply posted it? By the way...we know each other, I will let you figure it out!
shlomo simcha, you're the best!!! amazing video
The Dude on the Left not talking, This is the best part, it makes a Person Get the Suspense! Inui Hadin iz Beser vi der din Alein
the "yaish" added in at 2:42 takes the cake...
This video is amazing!! its probably the most funny thing i saw in a while its hilarious!!!
good stuff.....anyone who thinks this is too long simply doesn't get it....this should be a full feature film! i sat shiva in the not too distant past....there is nothing in this to be offended by.....except perhaps for those who say these things in real life....
So, I take it then that the maker of the video is suggesting that people *should* say these things?
Because I want to be sure I have the opportunity to say these kinds of things next time I make a shiva call!
Thanks for clearing that up!
unbelievable and so true.
this is brilliant. and terribly accurate!
fantastic
Good stuff!
This is very sad because this is exactly how some people behave.
The comments are almost as good as the skit. Sad that they don't teach satire in yeshivas.
The mazel tov variant, is a deadly infection.
In Yiddish, mazel means mouse.
WOW is all I can say. This was the best "shtick" people say by far yasher koyach!
why so much anger in some comments? This is clearly to show what some do to let the rest of us learn from. Chill and enjoy,
39 people are not showering during shloshim.
VERY VERY VERY FUNNY!!! I loved this...right on!!! Youre not supposed to have Kalus rosh at a shiva ubber the niftar used to like to tell a few jokes himself...
Brilliant!!!
word is that a Rabbi twice not once asked the son after the father and mother passed away, did you hear the gurgle. At that point, he was asked to leave. Let's just say he is not the only who has left that shul recently.
You are 1000% (yes one thousand % righ). Congratulations!
Some of it was truly funny.
However, I must tell you I was at a shiva with mommy for a COUPLE who were killed in a car accident. He was driving. They were killed and their one-year old in a car seat survived. I was at the Kevura where they were buried in one large kever. It was terrible.
At the shiva, a lady entered and sat down next to the mother whose son and daughter-in-law were nebech killed, and said “So, was your son a good driver?”.
Promise.
Hysterical. A grisah yasher koyach
this is freakin hysterical. Its all so silly, time to realize that and get a good laugh
actually it is father mother brother sister spouse AND a half brother or sister
@shalommorris Sherry cask-et
Not to justify insensitivity but it is a really akward for people paying shiva calls. They want to comfort the mourners but it just comes out wrong. I don't hold it against them.
The last one was too funny!
@toobdood613
Get over it, this is very funny and it shows how ppl behave at shiva houses (unfortunately)
P.s. I lost my grandfather last week and I'm not offended
It's Chazon Ish
@cabriniblvd40
Good one!
So is that the kind of thing you say when you go on a shiva call?
The only thing that is stopping me from severing my contact with all of you is that I need you all to help with the golf tournament on May 22nd. But mark my words! On May 23rd, my delete button will be on fire! With much sadness and dismay and tears (NOT TEARS OF JOY EITHER!)
3 cases of Cocoa Puffs. Cracks me up every time.
Is that Shlomo Simcha?
turn it up let it play :)
Thaaaambs Appp!!!
From my Sephardic point of view, it's even funnier!
we have very close friends who recently sat shiva and they roll from laughter everytme they watch this. you guys are so on target its scary! what are people thinking when they say the most ridiculous comments to an avel? the answer is they don't think. you don't have to talk during a shiva call and so if you havent got something nice or comforting you're best leaving it to the others rather than making the situation worser than it is
that coco puffs line.... wow....
pinchas tzvi? it's like a simin for a "putz" ? quite a morbid piece, but as far as morbid comedy goes, really funny. nice going ifrah brothers
too. good.
this would be great for a Purim shpiel.
This is not a matter to joke about.death is painful. It gives the wrong idea.
The guy in the black hat and rimless glasses is geoinus!
omgggggggggg i cud not stop laffffffingggggggggg
I know this is just so funny and we would never say this......
Mamesh!
So these are things you SHOULDN'T say? I just want to get that straight.
5:35
mamish hilarious taka laughing my tuchas off
what's with the ridiculous Chicago accents?
this is totally funny.
Looking for a shidduch...
Good material but WAY too long.
pretty good
@yschachter1 there is no such thing as Daas Torah it was made up with in the last 10 years. no wear in shas, rishonim or achronim does it mantion daas torah. Its used to control people. people need to lean how to behave at shiva. this was funny
@vunmenbend Sure looks like him!
So freaking funny. But hopefully untrue
I cannot stand how on target this is!
Why are you cursing them so much its mamesh not right to curse yeshivah bochurim
This video is not funny ,it is sad. Death is the hardest thing people face.. Passover represents freedom. We are lucky and blessed that we can express our religious freedom.
They are not making fun of death. They are making fun of stupid people. Perhaps, that is why you are being so defensive. Lets see if you understood that.
FUCKN GENNNNNNIUSSSS
hahahahaha so truee
Very funny
yes its funny, its called satire. noone is playing this in a bais avel
After watching this video 5 times I am positive that my friendship with all of you has been a complete and udder waste of valuable time that could have been spent on much more worthwhile endeavours. How anyone can find even an ounce of humour in a subject as serious and sad as the end of life experience is beyond me. While others shiver at shiva, you found the time to shiker about shiva. The only thing that is stopping me from severing my contact with all of you is that I need you all to help w
Funniest video ever (FOR JEWS ONLY)
Its mamesh geshmak
but its still funny
