I'll have to get round to this book. Sounds great. You videos aways cover such great reading materials. I read 'Notes from Underground' because of the video you made on it, and it became my favourite novella. You're a legend!
"I was simmering simmering simmering Eternalised brought me to the boil" - Walt Whitman That was amazing. I actually had to watch it a second time because I felt like all the buttons in my soul were being mashed. This is clicking with so many different things going on in the world and in me personally. I consider you to have done an amazing job by the compulsion I feel to read this book. It is staggering to think how insightful the Dane was. And also how he arrived at such similar insight to Nietzsche (even that they'd both use the word ressentiment independently of each other seems weird). A lot of the themes were actually in Contrapoints's latest video where she's talking about envy and about ressentiment (and the ostrakon as well) it's all very interesting and so very poignant in this age. Keep up the fine work. I may need to watch this a third time now 😄
Thank you! I'm happy it resonated with you, also nothing pleases me more than inspiring people to pick up the book to read! I think it is the best introduction to Kierkegaard. It is also quite short. I haven't heard of contrapoints but will definitely check the video out. Thanks for the comment my friend, always appreciate you.
@@Eternalised Wow I'm even more sold! Keep up the great work there's a serious philosophical resource building up here I'm very excited to see what you're doing in five or ten years!

I cannot believe I have not heard of this book! I will be purchasing and reading it asap, all thanks to your brilliant summary. There is an endless stream of junk data being dumped into the digital cesspool every minute of every day...so it's nice to know not all hope is lost. Your content is my spiritual and intellectual nourishment, as well as a wonderful guiding tool for the writings I can explore in the future. By the way, have you considered a 10 minute video of Jungs book "The Undiscovered Self"? I think that is another important piece of literature considering the current state of our society. Thanks for the amazing content ❤️❤️❤️
Yay! That's great to hear Kieran. I would love to get into Jung's collected works soon, the one you recommend sounds very interesting. I'll be publishing more Jung in the future for sure.
This is spot on It's funny cuz earlier this morning I was writing this just in a different way. Maybe I'll put it in the comment section or under this comment later

I cannot experience life by thinking about it because life is not a problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced since experience is de teacher of everything. What de ancients teach I also teach: A violent man dies a violent death.
I’m just getting into deeper philosophy after first opening up my eyes to the humanities via politics and man while I still feel like a fucking idiot you visualize and explain these abstract concepts vry fluently so ty for that
Hmm…I wish this channel’s owner whom I assume is speaking in all these videos would try to describe what any given philosopher believed and not try to characterize it as it might apply today. For example he says at the start that (paraphrased) “todays mass media….constant flow of inconsequential information”. No, we don’t actually know whether the information we constantly get through any medium available to us is “inconsequential”. Who determines whether what we regularly look up or learn is consequential or inconsequential? Who defines what consequential and inconsequential means? The narrator of the video?

Thank God somebody out there sees things similarly, in relation to the times we live in. Individuality above ALL!

Reflection is best understood in darkness, while light brings hope to reflection of past future knowledge its leveling is proportion to this balance.

The practice of "leveling" is as evident today as it appears to have been in Kierkegaard's day. The climate change fiasco is such an example of this

Learn how to pronounce Kierkegaard. It’s “Keerkegard” not “Keekegorg” 🤦♂️
