Regardless of art school or not, I see two people who took their education seriously inside/outside of school, and that's big factor to why they are where they are today.
This was a collab that I never expected! Also, as someone who still works in traditional film and TV production, it's awesome to see you guys talk about your time in film/art school fondly and the importance of that foundational education, even though you guys have moved on to dramatically different and non-traditional kinds of content creation today. Keep up the awesome work guys! Also big thumbs up to Asian Billionaires, especially the last episode!
Pursuing creative path in sg, definitely not a walk in the park, but also not as hard as 10yrs ago. Definitely way more doable now as RUclipsr, twitch streamer, esports gamer etc are seen as viable jobs these days lol. Also, it's better for us to see if our skillset can compete globally instead of locally. Open up way more opportunities. I'm really happy and excited that our local RUclipsr scene has so many more players and also entertainment value in the last 3 yrs sia. Side note, I always wonder why we can't do a Hollywood level production quality here. I don't know much about the film/on-set scene in sg but I am pretty sure we have the skillset here for the cgi/post-production stuff. Maybe there are local studios doing these but low profile.
Oh completely agree with SneakySushii on this. I'm too am from FSV, and intentionally didn't go to ADM because (at least in my time) ADM had the exact same curriculum as FSV. In fact they were on occasion using equipment from FSV too.
Art Attack was sucha good show!! I loved seeing Neil create masterpieces. So much nostalgia feels✨and the perspectives of this industry are so wholesome and true from you two very successful artists/RUclipsrs!! Also just bought your merch shirt😆
as a filmmaker, im really thankful for this video. at least i know im not alone in the industry, and that there will be a way for me esp cos i sacrificed my studies for this industry...
OMG this collab so cute hahaha. playing maplestory and going to LAN cafes.. YASSSSSSSSSSS and Annette looks super pretty with the sneaky sushii tshirt!!
As a filmmaker this is such a good video for me tbh. I am quite like on a fence of going into arts scene but I'm not sure maybe I can find a market for something unique
Oh didn’t know sushi kor kor was from FSV like me - likely my junior. Agreed with schools teaching about the finance and business aspects but tbh if the lecturers were that successful in those aspects, they wouldn’t be lecturers at a poly.
Here as someone with art background, doing art as profession locally. While yes it's true no specific local degree offers illustration as major, many from animation course did illustration (as well as other specialization) as a profession as well. Degree is overrated anyway (me and many did not need one), why did you get hang up on getting one? You can study illustration in FZD or 3Dsense.
Sneaky sushi should pay more attn to his eye contact. Annette eye contact nails it well. It’s a conversation between 2 person, like an talk show. However, the collab it’s great. Well done.
Thank you for this video! It is something that a lot of Singaporeans don't know about because the arts is often sidelined and misunderstood in our practical society. Have to agree with a lot of what both of you said! I'm no longer in the creative industry, but still make things in my free time because, like Annette said, it's like a shit you can't hold in. Haha. Also, I was a JC kid that went to ADM too and a lot of my classmates from poly had a leg up in technical skills, and because many of them had internships, they had more knowledge of the industry. That said, it's not impossible to catch up, especially with a lot of tutorials online (free!) that you can use to level up on your own now.
Perhaps we are too "guai" and sheltered for the world to be able to relate to our pampered lives. I mean just compare our war films with other countries. 😂 The only badass war film we can make is based off world war 2.
hha i mentioned at 0:40 that it was my first time holding it like that so i unconsciously kept moving it around. my bad, wish i'd kept it close to me too!
Never expected this collab to happen but I’m very glad it did !!
thank you i'm glad u enjoyed it! :)

This was a really cool chat, while slow I think the creative and music community in SG is def growing and evolving in its own way!
Love this. Love ppl coming together instead of seeing each other as competitors :)))

As a filmmaker this is such a good video for me tbh. I am quite like on a fence of going into arts scene but I'm not sure maybe I can find a market for something unique

Thank you for the insightful advice and entertaining video! Backup plan is studying music alongside another degree at the same time 😂
Oh didn’t know sushi kor kor was from FSV like me - likely my junior. Agreed with schools teaching about the finance and business aspects but tbh if the lecturers were that successful in those aspects, they wouldn’t be lecturers at a poly.
