Thank you for the video, I took my mini to service to a “professional” oil service station, and they did not know how to reset it🤯 so I have to do it myself with your help!! I knew RUclips university will com to my rescue!!
Yes, your check engine light will alert you of important engine errors. I recommend using an OBD 2 Engine Code Reader to read the codes and assess. Your reader may be able to reset the codes after your fix, but keep in mind that you will need to drive at least 70mi for the sensor to detect any new errors. I have my own reader, but if you don't, most auto stores will be able to read the codes for you and translate them.
Can you please let me know how to see why my check engine light is on in my 2015 Mini Cooper? I used to have a 2012 one and it would let me press the BC button and then hold it to find out, but this one doesn’t do that.. I would greatly appreciate the help!
Hi dear .. My question about rear fog lights how can I activate that while I don’t have the switch for the rear fog light only I have switch for front fog light
I am not an expert on mini coopers and only make these videos to share what I have learned myself, but I found this article that seems pretty generalized and may help. The Main Causes of Car Smells Like Antifreeze but Not Overheating Several reasons are there for causing this problem. Chances are that it happens due to an internal or external coolant leakage or a leak in the radiator cap. If your car smells like antifreeze but not overheating, the components you should look into are: 1. The Heater Core This component circulates warm air inside the passenger cabin. It draws warm the heat from the coolant and then spread it across the cabin. A crack in the heater core will discharge antifreeze and you will get the odor inside your car. It happens because the air is mixed with the antifreeze odor. 2. Worn out Radiator Cap The radiator can handle lots of pressure but it will leak the antifreeze mixture if its cap is weak or worn out. A misfit cap can also cause the loss of the fluid by overflowing the tube. Just replacing the cap will solve this issue but not addressing it at the right time will damage the hose. 3. An External Leak A hole in the radiator or a broken hose could be the source of this problem. It drains out the coolant very quickly and there is likely to be a puddle of coolant under the vehicle, so the problem is easy to spot. You will be able to find the leak just by observing the radiator and the hose. 4. An Internal Puncture It’s another reason why your car smells like antifreeze but not overheating. Unlike an external puncture, there won’t be a pool under the car but you will still be able to identify the problem since the radiator will dry out pretty quickly. It happens because the radiator overheats as an aftereffect of the coolant loss and evaporates the water faster than usual. Look into the cylinder block and head gasket to find the leak. I was able to get to the progress bar going all the way to the end but then it says "Reset unsuccessful". I checked the OBD codes and there are no codes to clear, just an increasingly pesky warning at startup claiming that oil service is overdue.

The car on the lift "tires" is the vehicle check. The "coolant" light is actually a brake flush. Hope that helps.
Thanks, Devin!! This is so much more helpful than the owner's manual, and I never would've figured this out on my own. Keep doing things!!
My car went into a loading screen and then says reset impossible; I did a 1000mi early oil change. Do I need to wait after another 1000mi to reset it?
Thank you for the quick no nonsense solution to my problem
Thank you! Makes me wonder why mechanic can figure it out besides my Mini guy!!
So when u get oil changes u have to physically fo this every time or will the system know n light wont come on
Best video on this!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Is it the same procedure on mini 2009 ? Thank w in advance
I just had an oil change. And my rest isn’t working! It says “oil reset unsuccessful” I’ve seen in the comments others are having the same issue.
How do I turn off my check engine light without a obd reader?
Thank you that was perfectly clear!!!!
Are there videos of how this can be done on the 6WB digital cluster?.
What about the service history in the infotainment does it also indicate that service has been done on the car ?
Thank you very much, it's been very useful to me👍🏽👍🏽
I'm happy to help!
Thank you! You made it so easy to follow!
Thank you !!!!!!!! Keep making videos!!!
I noticed your check engine light is still on, is there a way to reset that as well that you know of?

Good man, thanks from the UK!🖖🇬🇧
Perfect, thanks!! Works for front brake light as well. (Shop forgot to reset it)
Many thanks Devin!

Hi did you find a fix for this?
@@Nash08ful no and neither did a couple mechanics. I've just learned to mainly ignore it lol
Awesome. Thank you.
Thank you so much. This solved my issue. Worked on my 2020 JCW Countryman too FYI :)
