  • Let's take a look at all the Giant Superbou and Legion of Superheroes comics. Toss in a couple of Amazing World of DC Comics fanzines to boot.

I have such a soft spot for this run! It's crazy how a comic can bring you to an exact moment in your childhood... i can remember where i was when i first read the initial giant size issue... on vacation with my family! Same rime as the first Englehart/Rogers Detective issue! Stay safe in the storm... we are on Florida's east coast!

Hey Erik . Happy to see you back ! Anytime I see where you’ve posted a video I always smile because I already know I’m going to enjoy the subject matter, and this is no exception. 😊 Another great run within a series and one of my favorites. Superboy & the Legion was always one of my must haves when I went to the comic rack as a kid. Like you, I’m a huge Grell fan and loved all his covers and stories. If I had to pick a favorite it would be #239 For the cover and the “ Murder Most Foul” story. I enjoyed Starlin’s art on that one and it remains in my top 3 of Legion stories and it also connects to Legion # 250 where you find out who the murderer really is ( I won’t spoil it for you if you haven’t read it lol ) Thanks also for showing the AWODCC issues .. And as you know, #12 is my favorite as well. Great vid my friend, and I hope you and your family don’t get hit by Milton. Take care

Hey Shannon! This is a title I could definitely get into other than these Giants. I love Grell's art. He did a couple of covers of our beloved Justice League, and those are excellent. Speaking of AWODCC, I only need two more issues to complete that run. Thanks for watching.

That's a cool set of books. I've never given much consideration to getting any of this title, but I do like these covers. I think I'll check some of these out.

Can't go wrong with a Mike Grell cover for this series.

Hey, Erik. I like the Superboy stories, but when the LSH started taking over his comic, I got more interested in them, and Superboy became more like a bit player in his own comic. The separation was a little overdue. I didn't continue with the self-titled Legion series which took over Superboy's numbering, and I don't even own any of them. I have to suspect the office decision to restart Superboy at #1 and hand over Superboy's comic to the LSH was a monetary one, with New Adventures of Superboy #1 likely outpacing sales of LSH #259 by a wide margin, however it would have been more appropriate to start LSH off at #1 instead. Did you continue with either after the split?

Hey, QNS! No, I didn't collect either title after the split. I am actually more interested in picking up more of Superboy and the Legion before it went Giant size. I have two other issues, with one being the only square bound copy and then issue #218, which was part of the DC Comics Salutes the Bicentennial run DC did in 1976.
