    What is going on in Tennessee? First DUI's while sober, now parking tickets when you're not even parked there? I think I'll avoid ever visiting that state.

      The only state in the south I’d even think about visiting is Texas. I’m not trying to go to a state where I as roofer have a higher IQ then all the judges combined and don’t have a speech impediment like most of Tennessee and Mississippi.

      I moved away 3 years ago and my life has only gone up. The cops are crooked as could be. I will say in the city of Nash they’re the most reasonable. You travel 20 minutes to those small rural areas, and it’s a whole different level of corruption. Before body cams were a thing it was even worse.

    the fact customers were able to pay upon exiting and allowed to exit, means they paid in full. can't just tack on extra charges after they already paid and it allowed them to exit. this fact alone is damning against the parking company.

      @@LycanWitch False -- most of these lots, especially Metropolis owned, are drive through where they scan your license plate and then you buy time on the app or at a kiosk and then when you go over said time, they illegally use the license plate reader to get your address to fine you.

    This goes on all over this country! My son drove into a parking lot here in Jacksonville, FL, and drove out without parking. He got an $80 fine/fee, which my wife paid. I was pissed and wanted to fight it, but she didn't feel it was worth our time, so she paid it. Maybe next time this happens, I should get a good lawyer and go after the parking lot!

    • @yatta99
      @yatta99 8 дней назад +5

      She's right and this is how they get you. They make the fine/fee high enough to be profitable for them but low enough so it isn't worth the money for you to get a lawyer and take time off of work to fight it.

      The problem isn’t people being charged for what they owe. This guy already paid what the machine said he owed. At that point, unless he returned into the garage, his debt to them was settled.
      It’s like if you go to the grocery store and the cashier tells you that you owe $50. You pay the $50 and you’re settled. If the store later determines that the cashier made a mistake, or that the wrong prices were entered in their POS system, and you actually owed $70, they can’t come after you for the additional $20 because you fulfilled the terms of the transaction as they were presented to you.

    This makes no sense. License Plate parking garages should work like this. You go into the gated lot. The camera reads your license plate. You then park. You then scan the QR code at the entrance and put in your credit card and license plate #. When you go to leave, you go to the app and pay. The gate won't open until you pay. It's a hassle the first time you use it, but easy after that. Quite frankly it's all a pain, but this is where society is today. They have pretty much eliminated employees
    Why are people getting billed? They should be paying on the spot.
