Muddy Off-Roading With The Humvee (The Reality of Living Off-Grid)

- It was just another rainy day when the forecast suddenly changed and showed rain for the next two days... We needed two essential things:
1. Gas for the generator
2. Wine so we could have chili for dinner (an essential ingredient. LOL)
Since our driveway on our off-grid property is not finished yet, the several attempts I made to leave the property with my GMC 2500HD truck didn't go well, I needed to think of a better solution. So I turned to our faithful ranch vehicle, our Humvee.
Made it off the property and to the gas station with the Humvee, but was very skeptical about making it back to the property in the muddy state it was in. But I was shortly proved wrong by my Humvee - made it back like a champ!
Enjoy this fun video (I do apologize for the language, as I was very excited! Lol).
Don't forget to give this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed it, and feel free to subscribe to our channel to stay up to date on our crazy, fun, and beautiful journey :)
Ive got 2 m998s. Put steel tops on both of them. 4 door. We love them. Yours looks beautiful. Great vid.
Thank you so much! Awesome! Humvees are amazing, we love them too :)
To climb that hill in a massive Humvee , How impressive is that ? Gosh ,Who would have thought that Humvee could climb that hill ! . I think even my Volvo would struggle a bit up that massive hill . Feel Proud your an impressive Dinlow . Look forward to seeing your humvee going down the hill . Keep Going mate
You're so right - the Humvee continues to impress me with its ability! Thanks so much for watching, Mike! So glad you enjoyed. :)
I love that truck I have m1097 2 crew greetings from ny
Awesome! They are amazing vehicles... Thank you for being part of our journey :)
As always your video was really interesting and inspiring for me ;-) it is absolutely amazing how this beast climbs up that muddy hill! So please go on with your awesome journey, all the best from me 🙂 BTW: my truck arrived in Germany harbour this weekend (after nearly one year after buying it), hopefully soon I will have the Vee in my hands to get it street legal. Waiting for your next video, good luck with your plans and stay safe!
I am continually amazed by the capabilities of the Humvee! :) Such a great & reliable vehicle to have. As always we appreciate you following our journey & we’re so excited for you to finally get your Humvee! Find us on Instagram so we can see some photos of your Humvee…Looking forward to seeing it :) keep us posted!
You need to break modulation with that hummer so when the Hummer spins out press on the brakes partially and give it gas it will make the tires that are not spinning spin
Great tip, thanks - thanks for watching! :)
Transmission needs to be in HL wich means high lock. Or LL low lock. The modulation doesn't really work if your only in H.
I started watching ya'll's videos because of the HUMVEE ya'll bought since I had recently purchased one as well. That was cool enough but watching where you are headed now is very much cooler indeed. Keep up the videos so we can keep up with your journey. Very entertaining and inspiring. Love the progress on the ranch. Gotta get some rocks down on the driveway. And where did that second HUMVEE come from?
We're so glad you enjoy to see our videos :) it's nice to know people are enjoying our journey and the content we upload! Definitely have a bunch of step by step Humvee videos and property/ranch updates in the works (including driveway work, lol). We had the opportunity to purchase another Yermo Humvee from someone local that didn't have the time to fix it up. We decided to purchase it and fix it up to be a nice 4-man Humvee... If it won't be serving us as another ranch vehicle, we may put it up for sale with the option of customization to make sure it will go to a happy home. Thank you again for your support and encouraging words. Good luck with you Humvee!! Let me know if you ever have any Humvee questions! :)
Im in idaho and your property looks just like here. What state are guys in????
We are not too far, we are in WY
@@theinspiredjourney no wonder it looks the same
@@theinspiredjourneywhere in Wyo you at?
Pretty sure you don’t need to put it in neutral to go into HL. Neutral is only required for low
Thank you :)
Fuel
Man I want one of these soooo bad hahah, but I would have to give up my Camry, so it’s a tough choice…. Love that little car
Yes the Humvee is a thrill, especially in off-roading! haha, tough choice I bet (but nothing compares to the Humvee!) :)
Humvees are next to useless in real mud not just a bit of wet sand,
I've witnessed British Army Land rovers having to tow them out of a mud bath.
I've had a lot of experience with Land Rover Defenders in many occasions which did pretty amazing but I can definitely say Humvees are pretty great vehicles as well, but thanks for the opinion
Because the noobs driving the humvees didn't understand the brake modulation. A humvee driven correctly does amazing in mud. Should always do better than anything with solid axels.
