What is Sonny playing ? It's neither a 5 string banjo nor a recognisable "guitar". He appears to be playing it with conventional 5 string banjo style/fingering.
Amazing to hear Bobby singing the Jesus out of “bluegrass melody”” I mean perfection and then you have the leader master Sonny just absolutely butchering the song with that goofy ass bullshit banjo backup. He couldn’t pack JD the follower Crowe’s case from my couch to the front door
