      There are seemingly credible eye witness statements that the guy was in their sights for a couple minutes. The agents waited until the guy fired at Trump before taking him out. Also, a non-SS LEO crawled up on the roof of that shed and ducked back down after seeing the guy. This sounds less like incompetence and more like deliberate.

      Trump needs his own security. Biden’s gov’t hires for equity not meritocracy. The pudgy women could not run fast enough to save their own lives and certainly were not there to protect Trump! It was a show of Biden’s vile power.

      Not at the outset of the republic. The Dems stopped the Federalists (proto- Republicans) from centralizing the federation into a formal oligarchy. Go states rights! Alas, the Dems used states rights to maintain slavery, then Jim Crow. I know this because they were my ancestors. Now the parties have largely reversed their stances. I was the 1st republican in my family in the 70s.

      I believe the facts are that the head of the SS states that they were deleted because of moving to a different server. I don't know if she is lying or not. Seems like, if they were purposefully deleted, head of SS gave the order and is covering.

    Alan I was once someone who guarded nuclear weapons in areas that had little more than a fence between the public and the weapons. I know something about this kind of thing. You are 100% correct as far as it goes. It goes a lot further, but I won't bore you with those details. You hit upon the most egregious "oversight" by far in the situation. I'm of the opinion that this was very possibly a deliberate "oversight". But that's just me.

    What is pretty astounding is that you have common non-law enforcement citizens that are pointing out the secret service's blatant oversight in not ensuring containment of the building and particularly the roof that was in close proximity and line of sight of the stage. I think most people are finding it hard to rationalize this.

    I read all of the 98 page Mar A Lago Judge Cannon ruling. She in essence says that Congress really has to be actively involved in the creation of the office of special counsel and confirm the appointed special counsel. She basically that the DOJ by its regulations usurped the whole concept of establishing and funding the special counsel. Her decision makes sense and has good reasoning that Congress should not be excluded from the special counsel creation and oversight and funding. It is just right kind of decision given both arguments presented to the judge. Judge Cannon deserves a big commendation for a fundamentally pro-constitution decision. It took courage to rule against the powerful DOJ.

    JD Vance is a good example of raising oneself up by one's own hard work, effort and will which is part of the traditional American dream. He's a good populist choice, as inspirational to those from similar origin as Obama was to his community. I'm looking forward to hearing him speak but instinctively i think he might be an intelligent voice in DJT's ear.

      Other than through his wife Michelle, Hussein Obama has no ties to the African American community who have been in this country since the beginning of the country. Obama's father was an exchange student from Kenya who overstayed his visa making him an illegal alien. He met and impregnated Obama's mama who was 17 at the time. When Obama's mama became pregnant, his father promptly skipped town never to be seen by his bastard son whose birthplace is questionable. Obama's mama dumped him off on her white parents and he was raised in a white environment in Kansas.
      So what is his "community"?

    Cannon's opinion was very detailed and well thought out. You're correct that there needs to be more of a separation between justice and politics when it comes to the AG and prosecutors.

      Cannon's opinion was a dismissal looking for a justification. She hinged everything on the word "retained" and argued that it implied an existing employee of the DoJ. It's a real reach and at odds with what the word means to anyone in the legal profession.

      Democrats actually petitioned for him to have NO secret service protection … clearly to allow a wider ability to take him out.
      Also, the Secret Service were understaffed becuase Jill Biden had an engagement in the area and took the best staff for her detail.

      Trump in one of the rallies reminded that as president he had hot taken revenge against Hillary or anyone and mused that maybe that had not been the right thing. So he skirted the issue, but he did not directly say he was going to get into revenge. He did say that he would clean out the deep state and that of course they would take as revenge.

    The Secret Service should not investigate US Currency as a “side job”. Their total function should be the protection of the presidency! The currency function should be with the Federal Reserve or like agency.

I was striving to remember which agency is in charge of printing money (~Bureau of Engraving?) and would have the authority as well as expertise in discerning counterfeit bills more than a Secret Service agent who, in my opinion, should be solely concentrated on “executive protection”. My “knowledge/skills” have been centered on medical and law enforcement not finance/equities or monetary engraving. That’s why I didn’t immediately know, to answer your question. I consider myself as a “protector” and not a money focused individual. I rejected that focus when I was in grade school and focused on protecting the weak and marginalized instead.

    I talked to 5 independents yesterday. We got into a political conversation. It was great to speak with people who do not agree with my views necessarily. But all 5 of them are voting for Trump. All 5 of them voted for Biden in 2020. This is different. You can feel it!!

      @@krishanpaul2 I think RFK Jr and Gabbard would have been a dynamic team, but the Independent ticket is a losing one. I like Bobby a lot, and I am not sure if I will be voting for Bobby or Trump. I am not thrilled with Bobby's choice for VP since she has no qualifications for VP. Bobby won't accept a cabinet position from Trump as he has repeatedly stated. I can see him as ahead of the EPA. I would have liked Marco Rubio as Trumps' VP, who is much more qualified than Vance. I wonder if Trump offered the VP spot to Rubio.

If anything happens to him, the policy wouldn't change so there's less of a likelihood that someone will do something. admittedly, i don't know Rubio all that well, but he seems either establishment or controllable by the establishment (may be wrong here). Don't know if RFKJ will change his mind about a cabinet position. I see him or Gabbard on the same page as DJT on foreign policy which is why SoS might be a good fit.
