I had forgotten how beautiful and how strong Kathleen Battle's voice was. She is amazing! Her emotional range is so true. I used to listen to her recordings as I drove. She was my favorite soprano. No wonder James Levine mentored her and supported her career. Tragic.
Everything is so good in this production - the voices, costumes, sets. Just perfection and Kathleen puts such soul into it. This is how it should be done.
This is the most glorious thing I have ever heard in my life. I think I heard this in a dream, or another life, or something. I haven't a clue what they are saying, but what a FEELING it gave me, each chord, a wonderful, surprising thrill, like my first kiss with a boy.
Well Pamina has been told by her mother that she must kill the king with that knife. So she goes to her boyfriend, who is on a masonic quest and cannot speak to her, so naturally she assumes he has lost interest. Cursed by her mother and having lost her man, she is about to kill herself when three angels intercede... and you are very right, the music is magical but these singers really make it pop
I watched every variety of "Bald Prangt" from different productions on YT but this one is my favorite one out of all. Kathleen's rendition makes me gut wrenched everytime.
Same for me. When you have watched a few, the RUclips algorithm suggests more. You click and you get even more. Yes this one is good, but there are many other excellent ones. The one with Allan Bergius and 2 other boys from The Tölzer Knabenchor is perhaps my favorite.
Goodness me! And they look so natural too!
Incredible performance ! Absolutely angelic and delightful ! Thanks so much for uploading.
you are welcome :-)
It's absolutely wonderful how the boy at the second boy (the one at the right) misses the cue at 4:51. Their faces! 😅😊
ooooooh cool this song is the Best of youtube!😄
I agree with you ! A song as beautiful and sweet as only Mozart knew how to write!
😄
What choir are the boys associated with?
There was no information given about the choir, sorry
They were from the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus: Ted Huffman (1st Boy); Benjamin Schott (2nd Boy); and Per-Christian Brevig (3rd Boy).
@@stefanhogan6661 they were SO good especially the tall one
@@stefanhogan6661 How can we tell which is which, I wonder.
@@Jean-rg4spWhen they’re first on stage, it goes Ted, Per-Christian, Ben from left to right.
