New coach 6 weeks ago, and then having to play Netherlands, France, Argentina, Peru and Chile, all on the Road? I think their coming together as a team pretty well considering

This panel missed some very glaring points re The Canada/Chile match. I am only going to mention one: When the Canadian bench found out that Argentina scored against Peru, Canada knew right there and then that all they needed was to keep a clean sheet to qualify, naturally they changed tactics. That became more evident when Argentina scored the 2nd goal. And by the Way Canada had some amazing scoring chances. Finally Chili is no rag tag team. Canada did very well.

Lol one tournament plus the group they had was terrible most teams not just in conmebol but uefa and asia as a whole have terrible terrible teams peoole love debating if uefa or conmebol have the worst and I think thats irrelevant most teams around the world are horrible because they don't have history of playing at that level or care passionately about football loke otherwise or more importantly don't havw the resource to invest in players that's why most poor countries like in africa and other places who have tremendous players have done well in world cups because they don't have the resources to compete . Argetina nor brazil are dirt poor before anyone says they aren't suffering like Bolivia or african nations

@ishrendon6435 Africa has 8 teams ranked above Canada. Canada has a population of 40 million. Africa as a whole is poor but their governments are corrupt and put a lot of money into soccer. Marsch contract has MLS teams paying part of his contract. Canada soccer is not rich. As for Canada's pool being weak at 48 is the lowest ranked team in it. Conebul being weaker than Contecaf or Asia is a laugh. What Asian powerhouse is better than Argentina Brazil Columbia?

Bielsa was available when they hired Gregg- I was screaming from the rooftops that they should’ve done whatever possible and paid whatever they needed to bring Bielsa to the US. He probably would have said no, but still, his reputation was so-so at the time, why not at least try to go get him? I don’t think they even talked to him, doubt he was even considered. Cause we are content with MLS mediocrity

Nobody is talking about the heat! Everyone played in punishing conditions on matchday 2, and the heat was again a considerable factor in matchday 3. The Canadian team play a high press under Marsch - you can only press so hard in the heat. Also as mentioned, Canada didn't need a goal, 0-0 was enough. Combine those two factors and you can understand why the manager and players took a more conservational approach to this game.

Canada is the best in Concacaf. They showed it in World Cup qualifying and they are showing it here. This is not a shock like the American media are saying it. The facts are the facts and Canada has stepped up and went past Mexico and USA. It’s reality.

mexican players are sabotaged by their team's greed. a good player could go..but the club is asking for money that is not real. case in example for a panamanian player... carrasquilla. after the game against uruguay and eeuu... clubs have been knocking yet the houston dinamo in us...has made demands that block the movement. the investment matters more than the player and his potential

I gotta say you can control the game without possession it’s not the most beautiful to see but it’s effective and good teams like Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid can control the game with and without the ball. Especially Real. Canada bent many times but never broke they’re growing in this tournament and growing as a national team. Mexico has been hard to beat all tournament long compared to what there where last two tournaments. They’re biggest issue is the attacking line their not as deadly, as gritty and skillful like in the past. I agree they need to go to European leagues and that they’re not producing the talent anymore.

There are fans…the red patch boys from toronto were at the Argentina game plus other fan groups from across Canada, probably a few thousand in total. Yes not much compared to Latin America but growing as the game grows in this country and our team becomes more successful. I mean who would have thought we would ever get a World Cup game on home soil 8 years ago.
