There’s a thin line between discipline and abuse. I think Joe Jackson crossed that line. They definitely downplayed his abuse for the documentary because you can look up what they’ve all said in the past. It seems like they have forgiven him and made peace with it since he has died.
I think by the time she came along Joe was to tired to go at her like he did at the older children. My grandmother had her last child 22 years after her 3 rd child. She didn't have the energy anymore at 48 compared to 23.
@@chidenisee Thats probably true. Janet said in her book that Joe whooped her once with a belt right after she got out of the bathtub when she was a kid. She doesn't even tell her siblings about her marriages. Why do people assume that she's gonna share her private life with the world?
Seems like Michael secretly competed against Janet although Janet never seemed to want to compete against her brother. That’s the vibes I got when Janet talked about how she was treated while they made the Scream video.
@@fancyfanny6143 y’all need to listen again to what Janet said. She said Michael’s TEAM, tried to distance Janet from Michael. The same team he literally called out for the way they treated him as well as other artists under that team. They definitely controlled a lot that he did that people don’t even realise. Michael ADORED his sister and they never competed and he actually hated when people would compare him to his sister because that was his LITERAL sister. No one should be compared to family.
@@EstherTeejaay ok I could see that. The editing didn’t help much. One minute Michael is talking about the second “Ooh” was off, then the next Janet is talking about they won’t let her on set. They seemed to be trying to make Michael look controlling. Like he’s a major perfectionist at the very least.
@@fancyfanny6143 him being in the studio telling her the second “ooh” was off was literally just him having a good ear for music and wanting his sister to sound good. He definitely was a perfectionist but NEVER controlling, especially when it came to Janet.
Not only did "men ruin her stuf," they also profited off of her stuff. Without Janet at the superbowl there would be no RUclips, which means there would be no Netflix, which means there would be no Disney + There would be no Streaming period. (at least to the prominence that it is now)
Janet hits were mainly pop, but Janet has been making R&B since Control. You’d really have to go back and listen to the albums in full to understand that she was more than pop.
To be fair, their mother couldn’t say much because they were together before Loving v. Virginia (the act that ended the ban of interracial marriage). She would call the police on him and the police wouldn’t do anything because he was a white man and didn’t believe her
I totally agree with angel, Janet kinda didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. I would have liked her to go in to more detail about James , cause you can tell whatever went down between them still hurts.

It still blows my mind that people, 30+, don't know who Tony Roberts is
Great recap on the Janet doc. Angel and I share the same love for Janet. I wanted every hairstyle and outfit. 💕
Me too... I’m was right there with y’all. I had many days where I tried to replicate a Janet look.
This is my first time watching you channel..... I Love the Lady on this channel she is 🔥🔥🔥 great job!!!
I love Janet!!!! I learned the choreography to I Get So Lonely at an inappropriate age 😂
A Michael/Janet tour would of been HUUUUGE back then, wonder why Michael dismissed the idea...
It probably stood out a lot to him because he literally has perfect pitch. There are a few artists in the industry who have perfect pitch, and he’s one of them.
(at least to the prominence that it is now)
When Josh said “He ain’t even on the Arby’s like that !” 😩🤣🤣🤣 I let out a labor contracting scream! 😱 #JoshyGonz
Happy Wednesday! And we’re back!!!
Lenny Kravitz mom is Helen off The Jeffersons
Janet hits were mainly pop, but Janet has been making R&B since Control. You’d really have to go back and listen to the albums in full to understand that she was more than pop.
I be on NextDoor reading all "Suspicious Person" posts looking for racism. I come for the smoke. I'll never tire.
To he Jets had beautiful music. The DeBarge kids went through a lot in their childhood and life. Their dad was abusive and mom kept going back.
To be fair, their mother couldn’t say much because they were together before Loving v. Virginia (the act that ended the ban of interracial marriage). She would call the police on him and the police wouldn’t do anything because he was a white man and didn’t believe her
Janet Jackson's music is the soundtrack to my whole life. :)
Same
I totally agree with angel, Janet kinda didn’t tell me anything I didn’t already know. I would have liked her to go in to more detail about James , cause you can tell whatever went down between them still hurts.
I'm imagining from both of their "abusive" home lives that there was some physical abuse in combination with a drug problem. I'm sure it was UGLY!
I love the Spicy-Mamaness of Angel talking about that school bus pick up and the group chat. She is Me and I am Her.
I agree with Angel, the Janet documentary didn't tell us anything we didn't know.
Janet is divorced. She received a huge settlement. There were rumors that Jermaine and Janet got back together or at least seeing each other. Her ex husband is the father of her baby
Janet is still married. The NDAs are strong. If Janet has a secret child...so be it!
