I really want to do online school for two main reasons,
1- FREEDOM
2- I’m sick of people lol
But the only issue is I don’t know if my mom will let me do online school.

I’m trying to convince my mom to let be homeschooled and a recommendation I have is to not beg and try and be mature about it when u ask so she knows that you would be responsible/disciplined about it.
My mom never ever had the intention of letting me do online homeschool, but about a year ago I got hella severe anxiety and overtime it escalated into other mental health issues.

I went to the same district's public schools for 10 years. I started doing online school after I was expelled the third month of my freshman year... Getting expelled was probably the best thing that couldve happened to me. I was failing all my classes and now I have a 4.0 GPA

I wanna do online school so bad!! It's hard to go to school bc I have anxiety & depression. And i don't have a laptop or Wi-Fi at my house bc we can barely afford rent😂 I also travel quite alot.

At K12 Online School (which is the one I attend) they send you a free laptop if you need one. You could probably get away with doing school with a library's wifi
This is literally every homeschooler when starting a new program/curriculum 😂😂
Then a month or so into schooling you wake up 2 minutes before school starts, makeup smudged on your face, finish school then take a nap 😂😭😂

click dan tbh it depends on your school district and curriculum. i’m in the MYP so the learning approach & methods are different. there is a lot of independent learning and analyzing through projects and assignments... however, the teachers at my school try to make it as enjoyable as possible with fun tasks and group work!

I go to homeschool, and I love it because I can communicate with people from all schools. I can wake up anytime, sleep anytime, eat anything, use the bathroom anytime, take as many breaks, use my phone, cuddle with my dog while studying, and so many more privileges. I was in public school from preschool to 8th grade. High school homeschool made me more relaxed. I could wear my pajamas and wear no makeup = save money lol

I love cyber school so much!! I literally stay in my pjs all day and don’t have to worry about presentation, late home work etc. My teachers are very chill so they don’t really care if you don’t wanna read in class they usually read for everyone. Then you can do your homework anytime, you can go weeks without doing your homework, don’t do that lol, you’ll fall behind. But it’s your responsibility to get your work done. Which I can get done in like 2-3 hours tops.

I’m trying to talk to my mom about online school because I get bullied a lot. I would only be doing it for 1 year until I move far away. :( I would rather be happy than end up killing myself just because I stay for 1 year.
I’m seeing this comment pretty late but I totally understand you. I’m getting bullied myself at my school and it’s getting so bad that my parents are considering letting me do online school because staying in a public school drives me to actually want to kill myself if I stay. +Toorpekay Wali Actually none of my friends are homeschooled, I️ hang out with them on the weekends or in extracurricular activities:)
Toorpekay Wali I think some online schools have a Co-Op program where you go in an actual school (once a week) and get face to face learning with teachers, and you can interact with students, I don’t know if they have that in every online school though, I go to Nevada Virtual Academy :)

I’m in grade 7 and I’ve been struggling in public school since grade 5 so my mom is thinking about homeschool for grade 9, I also i have a lot of social anxiety and I find public school difficult and my mom thinks homeschool would be easier on me at the moment my dad hates the fact I want homeschool but my mom is going to try and convince him

I go to California connections academy and I am in 9th grade 😇 I do math, art and world cultures, biology, English, Spanish, and freshman success which is really nothing 😂😂 I usually finish my schoolwork in 3-4 hours and then get ahead or do study guides or something like that 👌

I want to go to online school as the whole ‘learning at your own pace’ thing seems ideal to me as regular school often feels too slow or easy or confusing. I haven’t made a single friend in 3 years so I don’t think the whole social side of it will effect me too much lol. Though, I only want to go for one year (year ten) then go to a regular senior high school.

I'm afraid of this. There's like an 80% chance of me being homeschooled for the upcoming school year. I've been SO much happier being at home and working on my own schedule. I've never been happier with school than right now because of COVID-19. But I'm worried if I stop going to public school, I'm going to regret it. What if I miss the social interaction? What if I miss those high school experiences like dances and pep rallies? I'm just really not sure.

I’ve been homeschooled for three years (middle school) and I haven’t talked to any of my old friends, and since I’m homeschooled, I haven’t been able to make new ones. The result is me, a socially anxious teen who doesn’t know how to socialize.

No problem, I understand, English is my worst subject! I did keep in touch with my close friends through social media, etc. but we don't talk much because we don't have the same schedule:( But i'm moving to a new community soon and they have a lot of activities for teens and such, so i'm hoping to make some new friends! I hope you can make some new friends too!

I would go crazy at home. I am not social at all but I loved all of my teachers and the overall environment at school. But hey, this looks cool! You do you!
The thing about all these kids wanting to do online school is that y’all don’t understand you have to be good with time management. You can’t sleep in until noon and then watch tv. You won’t get your work done like that. Coming from someone who online schools you have to manage yourself and have your own personal schedule and be responsible enough to manage yourself. 💜💜
I actually like going to high school sometimes, cause you get to join the clubs, field trips, meet new people, and the projects. Even if your a person that doesn’t like public speaking it helps you get better at it! The worst part though is the annoying people and teachers but yeah that’s all🤷🏾♀️

All the good things about homeschool: No homework, Eat anytime you want, Go to the bathroom anytime, Get extra sleep, No teachers yelling at you, Relax, Be with people you trust (Aka your family) , Free of depression and anxiety, Free of people judging you, Wear anything you want without the teacher yelling at you, No more stress, No time limit, And the list goes on, The only bad thing really is No more friends but you can work something out for the weekends

How long did it take you to enroll? I have bad anxiety, and am going to a new school that’s not going so well. I want to get out of my school as soon as possible.
The enrollment process was longer for my parent than it was for me because she had to electronically sign a few documents, it probably took her a total of two weeks to finish turning in all of the papers and read them over thoroughly.

this video reassured me SOOOO much. this year is my junior year and i am joining TEC academy which is just connections academy for massachusetts and i thought i’d be so overwhelmed with work but finding out late work doesn’t count towards your grade is AMAZING. i’m so relieved. i’ll be going to the gym every other day, i have so much energy when i sit around all day 😂
I'm studying online for uni and I gotta say, it is the perfect balance. Online school is the BEST alternative to traditional schools for people whose families can't commit to full homeschooling, or who prefer having teachers and curriculum and other classmates etc- but who want the freedom that schooling at home can bring.
I’m going to start Connections Academy in January 6th because that’s when they are starting their Second Semester. I’ve done public school all my life and I hate it so I’m really excited

This would be my first year but from what I know, it really depends on how well you pick up the lesson for the day.
I’m a Junior in high school and up until this year, i’ve been a public school student. I started doing Florida Virtual School in October and it’s been a great experience so far! I’m on something we call FLVS Flex, which means we don’t have a set schedule. We just have to turn in 2-3 assignments a week for each class. I should be done by the end of May.
I’m going back to public school next year for my Senior year, but I can definitely say that online school has helped me a lot more!

Everybody is complaining saying they want to do online School meanwhile I'm too lazy to even do my own simple High School work that is due in two days. I can't imagine doing online School since my house isn't quiet enough or has the room for it and I would most likely be stuck at home 24/7 since I don't do much outside School but yeah my mom would never allow me to do online School in the first place. I'm happy I enjoy normal School.

I have always wanted to do online homeschooling. At my school, we never really get anything done because so many of the teachers act like children and don't teach. They also won't let you work ahead or double up on classes (take two history or math classes the same year) if you are already in the 'high' class. It is very frustrating for someone who enjoys learning.

this is my first semester of homeschooling and i hate it so much but my mom won’t let me go to a public school. the reason i hate it is because of all the pressure on me-balancing school at my mom’s pace, 8-14 hours of competitive dance each week, and my mom threatening me if i don’t make straight a’s. my mom is literally ruining my high school years and i literally cry 5+ times a day hoping she’ll let me go to a public school

Yes! It’s an online public school so you get all of the benefits of a normal public school, such as a diploma and free tuition:)

I'm doing online school for 8th grade, I just finished 7th grade in public school. I've never done online school before but I'm so excited! The junior high school I went to was so stressful and gave me awful anxiety. I couldn't take it but pushed through the rest of the year, and I'm so happy I'm getting out of that school!

They send you one if you are unable to unable to afford due to thinks like Social security or for low income students if you have one its better to use your own.

+-Ruby Rose- Thank you!!:) I made a list in a notebook of around 40 different things for me to do whenever I need a break and they’re all pretty basic stuff like go for a walk, read a book, and plan a RUclips video. But I don’t often get bored, it’s more of that I need a break. I also keep busy with extracurricular stuff like theatre and dance, so I would recommend looking into activities in your community that you could do on a weekly basis.

Hello! I just wanna say how amazing you are, really loved your channel and your personality, sorry if this sounds weird but you remind me of myself, I'm currently done with my first semester of 8th grade and have to move on to second semester then that's it, I however have been going through hell this past year, found out my best friend for 11 years had been raped and sexually harassed another good friend of mine for 6 years, her mom had passed away and we became closer, then I struggle with extremely bad anxiety and I'm currently on medication, it's improving my mood but so far my parents are getting divorced and I might have to move out. The LAST thing I need is more stress with public school, I'm going to do online school for the rest of my 8th grade year so I decided to watch some videos about it to actually see what it's like and how to prepare myself. I can't explain it but I don't often like a whole bunch of RUclipsrs because I can't relate to them, but when I see you I love your personality and how happy and funny you are, since I've suffered a lot of bad things it takes me a while to like someone and for me to trust them, when I do become friends with someone i can't help but like them A LOT since they make me feel comfortable and accepted. Thanks so much for this video and I definitely subscribed, hope you enjoy your schooling and keep working hard!
