This Bozeman, Montana made Epi Texan has been a shop favorite lately, and rightfully so. Think J-45 with a long scale, so it throws some serious volume out and responds differently than a regular Gibson short scale length. Nothing to dislike here, excellent worksmanship and quality, great sound and feel, and an iconic look to match. Shipping from the factory with a Baggs Element too for those of you gigging players.
Recorded with Zoom H8N, no additional processing.

Sounds really great. Makes me second guess my upcoming J-45 purchase.
I compared the usa texan with a j45 in the store and took the epi home.
That is the best sounding Epiphone I have listened to.
I own the same guitar and it’s an absolute cannon! Wonderful playing!
I wish all epiphones sounded this good.
Because it's a Gibson.
Great video. Sounds exactly like my texan usa in sunburst finish. I had the oppertunity to compare it with a J45 and an Eastman E10SS in the store and for me the texan usa was the clear winner with more punch, top-end and an overall bigger sound…
Did Paul McCartney played that on yesterday?
Yes. But with a 64 headstock. Thinner neck and tuned a whole step down. This is a J45 with a longer scale. More punch and clarity. Hope that helps.
yes
Did Paul McCartney play that on yesterday?
Texan ..yes but a 64. Thinner neck and unlikable headstock.
Not this model. A 64. But yes...a Texan.
Thanks for the video man. How similar would a Texan sound with 11s to a J45 with 12s?
The texan will still be a bit louder and have more top-end. I love mine.
@@JelleKramerSongsI’ve had my texan for 3 weeks. Much more practical than a J45 when it comes to playing live. Long scale projection.
@@AlfimAlves it also takes lower tunings much better than a short scale J45.
Is this USA built Epiphone lighter in weight than its foreign manufacturers? The instrument sounds so much more resonant than the foreign versions of this instrument I have listened to. The reason I ask is that when I look at Epiphone instruments on Sweetwater, they all weigh over 5 pounds. None of my dreadnaughts weigh even close to 5 pounds.
Its very light. Same spec as a J45 but with a longer scale length, so more string tension, more punch, more top-end and more resonance…
this is Yesterday guitar
now thats a resonant true acoustic sound the foreign epis cannot come close!!!
This or a D18 ? Same scale and specs.
