- Making a hollow Christmas tree ornament on the lathe. The inside diameter is turned first and then the four pieces are rotated 180 degrees and turned again! This is also called split turning and opens up endless design possibilities.

Why not insert a ball inside before the second gluing?
Thats a great idea!
Great looking Christmas ornament
Thank you!

Cheer~~~a thing used to make something look more attractive but usually having no practical purpose, especially a small object such as a figurine.(awesome)😊
I wish you would tell us what tool your using, ie: spindle or bowl gouge
I've got one to finish off,its been sat on my bench for 3 years🙈
I like the way you turned the outside will have to give this ago at some point and finally get it finished
Thanks

Awesome. I could not figure this out prior and you told me it was pretty simple. I learned something today.
Thank you Bill! I appreciate the support
Красивая работа. Можно было немного усложнить: поставить внутрь какую-то фигурку; например, ёлочку.

Great job, looks very unique.
Suggestion:
I've put a marble and or a wood ball, (could be anything of appropriate size) in the center before gluing the 4 pieces together, this adds a little more visual complexity to the piece and sells it much faster with minimal extra effort if your into selling your work.
I like the way you think! It would definitely add value and that "how'd he do that?" factor
@@AdirondackIron that means... MORE SALES!
Also, larger pieces sell well as Yard Art. Putting centerpieces ( realistic birds, butterflies etc, attach a spinner and they rotate... Anything of interest inside makes people stop in their tracks and momma gets one to take home if daddy is smart.... Snicker.
Actually, all joking aside, they sell themselves.
that came out great
