Also we fight some Utahs in extreme lag. How fun!

Probably meant for a carnivore, it’s different when you reference a herbivore that uses its patterns to confuse predators
Zebras have their stripes to blend in their herds making it harder to pick one out. While many predators usually have a spotted coat coloring or a 2-3 color scheme across their entire body (lions, jackals). So what he said wasn’t Wrong with the creature he was talking about.

If we're going by the logic of using stripes to blend in easier, specifically with grassy environments, for predators, a tiger is right there.

Plus the "stripes" on pesky's blue carno can't really be compared to tiger stripes, since the Carno's pattern is more splotchy and collected at the back, which would work better in a jungle or forest than open plains, which the tiger's more up and down broken up stripes would be more suited for.

I think the reason the devs made so many crappy updates to the diets and food was because they still want people to move more. I don't play Evrima, but it doesn't seem like afk growth is that common or big of a problem.
I mean if your a herbivore yeah it kinda is, get your diets and afk to adult and it used to be like that for carnivores too in U4 but now food is extremely sparse and doesn't give as much so you can't afk for a moment lol

That’s actually the reason for the system. They don’t want people to AFK grow, they want them to act as real dinos, herbivores roaming the Isle in search of food and carnivores hunting them.
The game is pretty poorly made in this aspect. They didn't want AFK growth, they didn't want to give babies/juves strengths, so they get incredibly difficult and unfun first few hours. Truly TI devs moment

not even that, carnos are small game hunters who ambush. if they get pounced and then just keep running around forever ofc you're gonna bleed badly.
@@tacoroxable nah it's way worse than that. You're tripping if you think a few seconds from a pounce onto a 4,000lb carno should bleed more than the bite from that carno does to a little 1000lb utah. Because as of right now that's kinda how it is, and that's bullshit.
In reality if they trade a pounce for a bite to the head/body that Utah should be dead on the spot, yet they can just run off and never bleed out themselves somehow.
@@ihavenoidea5845 utah has always been able to kill carnos if played decently, at least from update 4. In update 4.5 it was more difficult because pounce was broken, and this counted a lot more than the fact that carno was op. With the pounce working as it is now also update 4.5 would have been very doable to kill carnos as utahs. Now, tbh, as Utah you not only are able to kill carnos, you can literally destroy carnos. Two utahs are more than enough to kill a carno now

I played this update and was in a big utah pack that nested. And once we nested there was literally 0 food around. We traversed half the map and there was 0 AI. We even cannibalized people who died of starvation, and we ALL died of starvation in the end after killing 4 stego babies and 2 of their parents in the beginning

It is really bad though. They shouldn't bleed out as quickly as they are right now, even walking. At least compared to the others anyways. If a Utah pounces it for like 3 seconds and gets bit on the body while running away, the little Utah should definitely be more worried about bleeding out than the carno 4× it's size

I don´t understand the logic of reducing so many food values in an update that introduces nesting at all. Doesn´t make sense. Most carnivores are now just busy hunting either for nutrients, or in case of carno to not bloody starve. So obviously few actually bother to nest.
Sidenote: I think most of the unfair hit registration was due to your abysmal ping. So I feel like its difficult to blame the game for that.
Not if he's playing in NA7, where the ping is completely broken. High ping is mostly the game's problem.

We need a middle ground for carno bleed between what is is now and how inconsequential it was before that.

I was playing last Saturday or Sunday and I had my very first Utah family. I had a husband and 5 kids life couldn't have been better until just from nowhere a big ass carno with the EXACT same skin came and destroyed everything ... I need to know if that was you. It was on eu7. Oh one more detail I had the female Utah that log out from the rock so the carno couldn't kill me XDDD ... Anyway at least if that was you it would have been a honour hehe :'cc.

I think making Carno drain food quickly, lower AI count and Carno being cannibal is designed to limit Carno numbers to only the most skilled and lucky, it looks to be a balance thing, probably better than having half the server Carno as we saw in the past

I back this skin, looks really aggressive. And also the rendering issue with the trees. I remember you said it with update 3. There's so many fucking trees.
This game would be much improved with like 5 water sources, open plains and a minimalistic forest/swamp area.
I dont really want to defend the games performance because its not great but my own is at least 2-3 times better than what Pesky is getting, aside from some really specific locations that are loading zones or something(gtx 1080ti card so imo cpu is probably more important for fps).
@@TheHuffur Ah see I have a 1060 and it was mostly between 50 to 60 frames but the isle has always had performance problems when in a swamp or with multiple players around.
@@benknight7130 Yeah the performance can be really hit and miss depending on how the stars align. Its mostly fine for me but I think its more a case of my i9 10900k cpu simply being able to somehow power through the worst of it rather than the game being close to optimized on a acceptable level.
Just seen a lot of people claiming the game is impossible to run but it does run even as it is now, would be a shame if they reduce the game scale to deal with performance before they optimize the game. We would all end up with a lesser game in the end for it.

That’s kind of how I feel about the game rn, bleed and other balance changes are good changes; but overboard to the point of ridiculous situations.
The food was just a bad idea, like can they have a percent to actual food weight ratio going on?
Like, someone weighed x when they died, take however off from blood loss and inedible stuff(like - 15%?)
and if the amount your stomach can hold is 35% (y) of your body weight, with each bite/tic demanding 5-10% of y weight from x weight, you get realistic looking bite amounts.
For a 230something (random unit is b) Dino eating a 115 (now a 97.5b Dino cause can’t eat bones :p) it would take about 12 bites. 10 bites to fill you up, if we do 5% each bite it’s 20 to fill you up from 0%. That seems reasonable right? If not just create a consumption gap in bite : food,
like you take 7% of your stomach weight out of the body, and get a 5% tic. Less bites needed, and it still seems reasonable, while not giving too much.
Idk that was just an example to put it into perspective. It should just be more settle that what it is now.

Nah the boar genuinely despawns sometimes after you kill it. Stuffs pretty annoying
True I also noticed this, killed a boar as utah juvi and was guarding it - for about a minute and it disappeared.
@@kichmadev Yeah, its one of the more recent bugs. I know they don't want people living off of AI but sometimes its so hard to find players you need it. Either that or turn down the food drain.

They need to buff the hunger times a lot. Carnos and Utahs are going crazy on some servers even going to far to cannibalism no matter the cost. No wonder you start to see more Herbi players nowadays.
Like it should be, herbis should be more than carnis, I mean, the isle environment is fixing itself, carnis need more food now, so there's less carnivores and more herbivores, like how it happens in real life
@@ender_z4nd3r83 Not really it makes it ridiculous hard to nest as a Carnio when the hunger drains so fast and there's no ai around and only op Tenos stegos and packys. It makes nesting as a carnos unnecessary waste of time and food. Thoe am not against more herbis but at least nerf them or give carnos longer hunger times. Instead of constent hunting all day and nights. And when players start to leave the carnos because of cannibal players or extreme agro players it makes it super boring to play as herbis when there's no threats around any longer except for the rivers. If the hunger drains slower it will make it more fun for the carnos to explore socialise nesting and give others both herbs & carns to grow.

@@ender_z4nd3r83 I see your point and i can agree with it. But they need to slow the hunger time and make at least games(carcass) have much more meat on them and last longer. Its ridiculous that i cant nest rest and even feed the hatchlings without must go hunting all day & night constant. It makes playing as the carnivores boring. At least in the legacy you could spend some time socialise and expolore long distance places without thinking to much on hunger.

yeahhhh unfortunately the grass in the isle absolutely destroys the youtube bitrate
9:13 For me evrima ran a lot worse than that since the day it was relased so I kept playing legacy instead , but at least it's barely playable now and I don't feel the remaining performance issues are not bad enough for me to go back to legacy

Nice entertaining video. I just bought the game and I'm having a good time with it, still trying to figure it out though. One question here.. what do those 3 hexagonal display symbols on top of the stomach/hunger tracker mean?
They are your diet status, if you open your character menu you can find what foods you need to eat in order to max those stats. I haven’t played Evrima for a while so I’m not completely sure
In the old update those bites woulda hit but you have to aim a lot better now the bite takes a lot more accuracy and so weird you have that much lag also Carno is still good if you’re good and have at least another carno with you then you can live for days of play
